  • A morning at the Peak District National Park taking Landscape images around Ashopton Viaduct looking up towards Bamford Edge, and then up around Derwent and Howden Dam and up to the Kings Tree and one of the tributaries of Howden Reservoir
During the Second World War the reservoir was used by pilots of the 617 Squadron for practising the low-level flights needed for Operation Chastise (commonly known as the "Dam Busters" raids), due to its similarity to the German dams. Today there is a commemorative plaque to 617 Squadron on the dam, and one of the towers on the dam houses the Derwent Valley Museum.

Just smiled my way through your 1st vlog... having just done my 1st (and only one so far) my thoughts on it where exactly the same as yours. What has helped me to think about doing another are the encouraging words from the fellow vloggers out there. You obviously take a very good image so the rest of the format will fall into place given time and effort - as you said you like to get it right... and I have no doubt you will. I can't offer any help or tips just to say look forward to your next one :)
