How to photograph Little Owls
Просмотров 3933 года назад
In this video i go to a Little Owl Photography hide based in Droitwich close to Worcester. Unfortunately a short time before i visited they lost two of the young Little Owls to i presume a Sparrow Hawk, although the Owls did frequent the hide they were very nervous and didn't spend too much time on the perches. The Little owl site is at www.brinepitwildlifephotograp...

So whilst we are lockdown i have been travelling the 10 minutes or so to a local lake where there are Kingfishers. This video is filmed over multiple visits, staying a short while per visit. Sometimes i would get lucky and sometimes i'd come away with nothing, but it's the thrill of what if......... The Dolomites Day 2
Просмотров 1353 года назад
Day 2 of our little bucket list trip to the Dolomites, after a scary morning start, with being stuck on a tiny road on the ice with a ravine to the side of us we finally managed to get out. Missing the sunrise we headed back through the windy mountain road to the Sella Pass before heading to St Johanns church for sunset. Photographing the Italian Dolomites Day 1
Просмотров 1453 года назад
So after nearly 12 months of planning and a global pandemic we finally managed to visit one of my bucket list locations "The Italian Dolomites" From what i had read the middle of October would be good for decent weather and lots of Autumnal colours. However the weather gods decided to bless us with lots of early season snow fall. Day 1-3 we were based in a village called Lajen about 15 minutes ...
Returning to Wyming Brook

After not going out taking any landscape images whilst on lockdown, i ventured out to Wyming Brook after lockdown, having not shot any landscapes for 8-10 weeks i thought somewhere similar would be the best place to resume Music from Epidemic - creative license
Local Wildlife Photography

So after the latest relaxation of lockdown guidelines, i decided to head out to my local nature reserve to capture some images of the local Canada geese goslings. It's also my first time using the Z6 with the Nikon 200-500 to record video so i was curious about its performance. Video and images shot on Nikon Z6 with Nikon 200-500 Vlogging shot on DJI Osmo Pocket Manfrotto mini tripod
Nether North Grain

So when plan A doesn't work out it's good to have a plan B. By the time i got to my location the sun had risen and the morning mist had started to burn off so plan A was ditched and i resorted to plan B so i decided to head off to Nether North Grain in the Peak District to capture some waterfalls
Chasing Kingfishers

I decided to go and try out wildlife photography and what better a subject than the Kingfisher. Such a beautiful bird, and extremely fast :-). The location is an RSPB reserve close to Leicestershire, and after a thunderstorm halted the first shoot i returned and witnessed an amazing site. There were four Kingfishers there that morning 2 adults and 2 young, for my first ever wildlife shoot let a...
Wyming Brook
Просмотров 8086 лет назад
I visited Wyming Brook in the Peak District during the winter when there was still snow on the floor, so i decided to go back again now we are in spring. The weather was the polar opposite from the Winter shoot with harsh clear blue sky, making it a little difficult to control the dynamic range of the scene. If anyone has shot at Padley Gorge in the Peak District its very similar but more acces...
Landscape Photography at Ladybower plug holes
Просмотров 6296 лет назад
So after all the snow and rain over recent weeks in the UK i decided to go and see the Plug Holes at Ladybower Reservoir. These man made overspills remind me of a scene from the movie Inception and are awe inspiring especially as you can get so close, and the roar of the passing water is deafening. Then as the wind picked up i decided to head down to Lady Clough Woodlands close to Snake Pass in...
Focus Stacking using Tamron 24-70 G2
Просмотров 5 тыс.6 лет назад
Having just got the Tamron 24-70 G2 i was dying to get out and use it, so i decided to go to a new location for me, so i paid a visit to Wyming Brook in the Peak District. A stunning location where fast flowing water cascaded around moss covered rocks with snow on the valley sides. As the foreground elements were close i decided the best option would be focus stacking. I decided i'd leave my ov...

DJI Mavic Pro using D-Cinelog at Corfe Castle Dorset

Corfe Castle basking in the early morning light filmed using DJI Mavic Pro. The video was created during the golden hour around 30 minutes after sunrise. Difficult to get down to 1/50 second so used a Polar Pro ND16 to get the shutter speed i needed. Edited in Adobe Premier Pro (only my second video) and still have a huge learning curve. Corfe Castle is a fortification standing above the villag...

Another great intro Andy. What a "not far from the car" image for sure... snow makes everything so clean n crisp, cracking images. Loved the timelapse. Such an iconic scene, must be great to get one off your bucketlist. The image at 11:20 is a corker. Nicely done Atb Alan
Glad you enjoyed it
Hello Andy, just saw your post on the Facebook RUclips Photography channel so thought I'd pop across and check out your channel. Wyming brook is pretty close to me but I've never been so it was good to do some armchair research😉Loved the shots and your youtube style👍 Subbed!
The dog footage in the 1st 30 seconds hooked me Andy 😊. Fabulous location and somewhere I have never been but would love to take a trip to, my mate has walked a few routes of the Alta Via Trails and some of his images make e green with envy. Images like your one at 1:27 are something magical that we haven't got in the UK... the mono one following it was stonking. Love the timelapse. Beautiful light on the 1st of the Church images scene. Atb Alan
Thanks pal who doesnt love Bernese mountain dogs :-)

nice work love the stills to.
Very enjoyable watch Andy. Great thoughts on not neglecting the environment we are in... sometimes I think that helps the thought pattern rather than going at it gung ho. Love the lush greens of summer and I think the images came out really well. Wyming Brook does seen a popular location for vloggers, not surprised looking at the images you got. Atb Alan
Great vlog well put together where abouts you from
