Hurray, the racing buddies are back! Not a racing buff, but their enthusiasm is very wholesome so it makes the content enjoyable. Thanks, Mike and Luke!
Speaking of channel nemesis. What's the name of that guy that always snipes them in GTA online and other games? Kinda miss them. Haven't seen them in a while.
GT7 in Vr is stunning. Playing at life size scale in full 3d is a total game changer. It goes from a game to a racing simulator. You have to use real life driving skills liking moving your head to look in mirrors and use proper 3d spatial awareness to overtake. You call feel the undulating tracks and being into look into corners feels so realistic. If you love racing you really need to give VR a go. It is simply stunning and will make you fall in love with the game all over again
I can't get over the fact that Luke basically just experienced a 100+ mph car crash straight into a wall in first person (y'know, aside from the part where he would go flying out of the seat and die horribly). And he didn't even get sick from it!
nice to see team car dads in their element. got to admire Alex wright using Garfield livery, if only all the racers were able to use it that would of been the best thing ever
19:30 - No, Mike, a 27" 2560x1440 monitor here.... and my stomach *is* muttering a little concern, mostly prompted by Luke's rapid look to side/behind head movements I think.
As a motorsports fanatic these videos are an extra treat. Hearing Mike and Luke talk about Iracing makes me wish they'd make their own motorsports gaming channel 🤞
GT7 in VR is some of the most fun you can have, especially with a wheel and pedal setup. I highly recommend it! As for this, love the dynamic between Luke and Mike.
Can we please get a fun, chaotic, MCC like F1 podcast with Luke and Mike??? Even if it's like just 30min or less episodes, it would be so entertaining listening to their F1 opinions and takes regularly!
I just love watching Luke's stages of improvement in these racing games! His, frankly, astonishing rate of improvement makes me think he is spending an unhealthy amount of time on the sim. He truly is one of us now!
I hope we see a Part 2, possibly with everybody in a similar car? Like lower-powered roadsters like the Miata? Love this so much, especially as a lifetime car enthusiast.
This is some of the best content I have ever seen from you guys. Thank you Mike for getting Luke into cars, especially Formula 1. It's good you now have another person to talk F1 with and other car / motorsport related things with, such as GT 7 and others. I am also glad that Luke and Ellen seem to be getting their VR legs, I hope it's not been too taxing for them, can be tricky (they have a good coach in Mike)
Luke and Mike got me to raving games and F1. Any racing video is a must see for me. Thank you for another amazing race video. The PP jokes had me dying ahaha
So much fun! I can't do VR, because I'll definitely be sick (and I'm not shelling out more than the cost of a PS5 for a PSVR2 I'll barely use), but this is a lot of fun to watch. I finally caved and bought GT7 a few weeks ago when it was on sale and I'm addicted. I've managed to get all golds in the National B and National A licensing tests. I've got 3 plus the final of the International B licensing to get gold in. International A is a pain though. I am playing with just a controller, but it works very well even if I do sometimes do what kids do and turn the controller as if it's helping me steer (using the left analogue stick for steering as I think it's the best option for me). I love Luke mentioning about needing to listen to change gears, because that's how I learned to drive a manual transmission. I learned on a little '81 (or '80) Toyota Tercel (called the Brown Car, because it was tan) and it doesn't have a tachometer, so I had to listen to know when to change gears. Little car was very light and was the best thing to take out on dirt roads for some homemade rally racing. That's still how I drive today, both in GT7 and in real life. I'll admit I'm glad I play GT7 offline, because I'm far too aggressive. The amount of collisions I have in the races against AI cars is ridiculous. I'm still bad at managing my speed so I'm not going too fast into corners but then also not going too slow on the exit.
Mike and Luke comparing their pp and both going deep at the same time makes this sound more like a friday night Platform32 stream than an outside xtra video.
Luke! Your driving has improved dramatically! Great lines man. Super proud of you. PSVR2 and GT7 are a match made in heaven. Especially with a wheel. What’s Mike’s excuse for not having VR? It’s amazing
New F1 season, new motorsport content from Mike and Luke! You guys got me into it, the least you can do is more motorsport games! (Seriously though I know they don't do as well analytically but I love them so much)
Man, when that first race ended, it was terrifying, and I wasn't even in VR! They need to do something about that, have a smoother transition out of the race, like they slowly face out over about ten seconds.
I think for me the VR experience enhances the "observer" viewing experience. Like it was smooth enough and the natural movement of Luke's head (vs a controller trying to aim in first person) was really satisfying. It may have made some people sick but honestly it felt really good on my end, especially against any 3rd person gameplay, which just feels less satisfying to me
Geez, I was getting motion sick just by looking at the screen. Genuinely had to turn this into a makeshift podcast. Still a lot of fun to just listen to though.
Clear improvement in Luke over the last few months, that's amazing to watch. That looked absolutely fantastic, but does that mean Luke won the battle for PSVR2?
Sim Racers have always felt a little detached for me to really enjoy and get into thanks to the views never letting you do those little head turns to sight your corners early, or turn your head to naturally check your space and mirrors. This looks great for closing that gap between IRL racing and sim, and I wouldn't be surprised if it improved your driving over time if the nausea isn't an issue for you.
That looked awesome. Thank you to Luke for choosing a car with such great visibility for the viewer, although it did look like it was terrifying being in such a low open top car compared to the competition. I wonder if Mike would like to try it in VR now?
The combination old F1 car and Laguna Seca is really great, I did it with the classic Ferrari in Assetto Corsa. Though I also enjoy a gearbox and a clutch.
My experience and that of many others is that driving games are among the least nausea inducing VR experiences. Something about your body, brain and eyes agreeing on 'well, I'm just sitting here looking around' and the framework of the car keeping you orientated reduces the vertigo.
I usually use 3rd person view when in a racing game, but the ease of adjusting the first-person camera (via the motion-tracking in the headset) makes me think I should the PSVR first-person racing. :)
LUKE!!! Things that help me with VR nausea are having a fan blowing on my face and allowing some light inside the headset. Not ideal but allows me to play a good amount of time without vomming.
Laguna Seca is the best track to try out VR. The heebeejeebeez of the corkscrew, if it gets you feeling that weird sensation in your stomach, the VR is doing its job.
Curious if the other drivers could see Luke’s avatar’s head moving around when he was looking around or back at them…also side note, LordFlash driving like a total scumbag at the end of that last race. Luke handled it well lol
I played Dirt Rally 2 in VR... the undulations made me incredibly sick after one stage. Fortunately I gradually got better at handling VR, now it takes me two or three stages to get sick...
I would like to point out just in general that your brain usually very quickly adapts to VR. For me personally, when I started out in VR, whenever something new would make me feel nauseated, my brain would adapt over night and the next day the same thing would no longer make me feel nauseated ever again.
Mike in the first race: "oh no I haven't got the rhythm for this race." Mike in the second race:" now that I have familiarised myself with this race track I can move with a precision of a micron. Based on your car model and my knowledge of this track I know this next turn is the best place to overtake you" also mike:*pinballs luke
One of my favourite things about the last few years of OX is Luke getting into F1 so Mike can have a car friend. It's just very wholesome.
It's like they've become scooter brothers. Scoooooter brothers...
Oh wait, that was GTA, not GT. My bad. Also my bad for bringing up Trevor. XD
I started rewatching the other racing tutorial videos so this feels like a real treat for me especially lol
You mean Luke getting into racing so that Mike's thing now is Luke's thing and Mike's thing now is "being in the background forever"
Can't believe comics legend Garfield the cat just absolutely owned Mike and Luke
he HATES mondays
Out for revenge after that one party game.
@@TheNosnets I put “I hate Mondays” and “…and loves lasagna” decals on the side windows of the car.
Jim Davis authored that experience
It's your turn, Garfield!
Talking about "The PP situation" right off the gate. I appreciate this channel.
Can't tell if this is Gran Turismo or Surgeon Simulator lol
Hurray, the racing buddies are back! Not a racing buff, but their enthusiasm is very wholesome so it makes the content enjoyable. Thanks, Mike and Luke!
Oh god, the PP jokes...
Also, is Garfield a nemesis of the channel, now? I didn't realize Luke was being haunted by him.
Garfield AND wmv files
Speaking of channel nemesis. What's the name of that guy that always snipes them in GTA online and other games? Kinda miss them. Haven't seen them in a while.
@@RijaMo Nerascus?
Well if you've ever been to r/imsorryjon, you'd know why being haunted by Garfield would be pretty bad.
This was incredible. I'd love to see Mike play in VR
Yeah but no. Now car videos are Luke's. Mike will forever remain the background guy.
GT7 in Vr is stunning. Playing at life size scale in full 3d is a total game changer. It goes from a game to a racing simulator. I'm so impressed with how much Luke's racing has improved from not being a racing guy to now. Love these vids.
Head room on top of the PP, going deep and having other drivers on the inside... Learning so much about racing.
the return of F1 and this within a couple of days of eachother, the motorsports gods have blessed us
I can't get over the fact that Luke basically just experienced a 100+ mph car crash straight into a wall in first person (y'know, aside from the part where he would go flying out of the seat and die horribly). And he didn't even get sick from it!
Nah, they strapped 'em in pretty good back then. He would have died horribly _inside_ the mangled, probably burning wreckage.

Fun fun!!! I always love a good Luke and Mike racing and banter video
I genuinely love the car content Mike & Luke slip in, every now and then. GT7 VR streams are welcome...😏
As a motorsports fanatic these videos are an extra treat. Hearing Mike and Luke talk about Iracing makes me wish they'd make their own motorsports gaming channel 🤞

Ooh, I love Carfield!
That wipeout around 27:00 reallyyy displayed the tiny margins of error going on, great racing Luke!

This was so much fun! More "Car Time with Luke and Mike" soon please!!
You can hear Luke get better at shifting by ear as the video proceeds.
That last race was actually legitimately exhilarating!
really exiting video! but may I suggest googly-eyes on the VR-headset?
I am so glad this video exists! I love Luke and Mike racing time 🤣
Only one spin around Laguna Seca in a sixties GP car, Luke has come so far. Really hope we get a Nurburgring video!
Always good fun to see and hear Mike and Luke geek over cars and races so I am hoping we're getting more of these!
GT7 in PSVR2 is incredible!!!
I’d love to see some more of this!!
Also love that the Garfield car was a personal favorite, the Lancia Delta Integrale HF 😍
I hope we see a Part 2, possibly with everybody in a similar car? Like lower-powered roadsters like the Miata?

Cars, Garfield, and jokes about PPs. This really is a racing dads video
Damn this is making me want to spend money I don’t have, but it looks so good.
It'd be money well spent. Trust me, not even this video comes close to describing the immersion

MIke if you still have the Ginetta we need a video of you and Luke on a track day as he really is seeming quite the virtual talent.
I'm always here for OX motorsport content. It's always thoroughly entertaining, and I hope we do see Luke tackle the Nurburgring in VR eventually.

that last race was great. Drama, chaos and a close finish!
Its really funny to watch the HUD elements go wildly out of focus as Luke looks elsewhere in the FOV.
I'm not into cars much but knowing how intense VR can make things I can only imagine how good racing would be

the potential for space buddies but it's racing buddies, luke and mike are team mates. shake and bake baby.
Why do I get a feeling that Luke and Mike uploaded this without telling the others?

When racers race at Laguna Seca I can hear it from my bedroom window
When you’re a rally driver and Mike is your navigator “that’ll be my nicely directional Mike”
Love the racing content, absolutely scrumptious 😤🥳
The combination old F1 car and Laguna Seca is really great, I did it with the classic Ferrari in Assetto Corsa. Though I also enjoy a gearbox and a clutch.
Luke making switchback after switchback on the last lap of that last race was immense
It was very kind of Ellen to let Luke borrow the VR headset for this video
Luke: *wearing VR headset*
Mike: "are you watching me?"
I really enjoy these racing videos.
I haven't been this excited for a new video game and/or system since the launch of the Nintendo Switch.
My experience and that of many others is that driving games are among the least nausea inducing VR experiences. Something about your body, brain and eyes agreeing on 'well, I'm just sitting here looking around' and the framework of the car keeping you orientated reduces the vertigo.

Could Mike see Lukes drivers head move around as he looked in VR I wonder? 🤔

GT7 in VR looks amazing.

the pp jokes killing me 🤣

Good thing Luke was driving a Honda, because the engine would’ve broken with all the limiter hits.
