I saw such a Nurse!
Glinner brought me here ... thx Elaine xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
This woman is an absolute queen! I laughed, clapped and cried listening to this speech. Women won't wheesht!
What a brilliant speaker Elaine is. Funny, smart, informed and passionate. So much of this is not in the public sphere, thank you from all women for raising your head above the parapet.
Omg. She's amazing. So witty, so clever.
One of the best videos I’ve ever watched. Witty, clever and worrying in equal measures.
Male health care worker here, so very glad I watched this, a completely new and interesting angle on stuff for me, presented in such a warm, articulate and humorous way, will be sharing far and wide, thank you Elaine Miller, brilliant!
Someone buy this most amazing woman a drink
It’s true, no one formally teaches women about menopause. They hardly teach us about menstruation, sex & intimacy, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, sexual pleasure, UTIs, fibroids, incontinence, markers and indicators common to women’s health issues, nothing! I rely on other women for knowledge about women’s lifelong health (among MANY other things, including the curative properties of wine 😁). We need a thousand thousand more events like this, packed with information and graced with such wit as Elaine’s. I’ll be doing pelvic floor exercises because if she’s funnier in her next talk, I’m in trouble if I’m not prepared!!
Awesome woman. She was so wonderfully funny and so informative.
The FVF green team are definitely planning a trip to see her Edinburgh Fringe show, she’s just brilliant.
@@ForthFeminists If you're organising a bus, I'd love an invite. After seeing her on Saturday I found out something that is definitely going to help me. 34 years after a hysterectomy and I was never educated to do anything to help myself in later life. Pissed right off (pun intended) about that.
@@ForthFeminists my wife would like to go the same night if somethings being organised.
@@TheOriginalDaveJ is she on twitter, Dave? She can contact us @ForthFeminsts we’d love to hear from her.
Wow just wow, what a superb talk and a very incredibly intelligent woman who speaks from the heart. Well done and thank you Elaine
Superb! I send my GP about the negative impact the cross sex hormones will have on my son. (A male). We are witnessing the biggest medical scandal this century. This talk was brilliant, funny, compassionate and a must watch. Somebody give her a show!
A must watch indeed - love how she tied so many different aspects together. I’ll be sharing it a lot! And I hope your GP takes notice xx
I have sent to my T taking daughter, but she seldom responds or reads what I send. I really hope she does.
Fantastic! Elaine raises so many good points and needs to be heard. She highlights so eloquently how women have been let down time and time again! The part about trans people who have dementia detransitioning was a real eye opener!
@@jillturner8680 what a shock...
@@laurararararara what a horrible sad person you are
Blown away. Fabulous talk from a fabulous woman. Thank you Elaine & Forth Valley Feminists.
I wish I could like this a thousand times over. X
Brilliant and funny woman. Thank you for all you do for women!
Glinner brought me here, too. So grateful to him, and to you, Elaine! You're awesome. Wish I lived in the UK and could hear you in person.
Women’s bodies have more complex and sophisticated machinery than men’s bodies, so it stands to reason that more things can go awry and therefore require more and better maintenance to keep our machinery running smoothly. This is known and acted on for all machinery, except women’s bodies. No need to say again why that is, because we know why, but let’s start insisting on the same reverence for our more sophisticated and complex female machinery.
Thank you Elaine for shining yet another huge spotlight on us..the adult human females. Your words made my heart rate go up, with the rage, as yours did. I sometimes feel that I am shouting in the wind, a gale force wind of cancellation and erasure, trying to be heard and recognised as the wondrous beings we are. My heart bleeds when you talk about all those beautiful young girls mutilating their amazing bodies, denying themselves the chance to grow a generation and damaging their future with life limiting drugs. Having my child was the most rewarding experience of my life and I was 34 when suddenly my body went overboard to procreate!! Please keep using your voice, we have your back!! 💕
Maybe they don't want to "grow a generation."
What a woman! Her charisma and compassion for her patients is incredible to see.
And like Elaine says ‘leaky old ladies’ and menopausal women are a source of comedy and something to be laughed at.
Wowwwwwwwww!! What a Scottish power house!! I feel safer on this planet knowing she is here fighting for us women!!
A star is born. A very funny, driven and clever one, and by God do we need her voice. Shine on sister! Thanks Glinner, chefs kiss!
This woman is amazing!
I was stunned the other day when someone posted on twitter, a screenshot from Parents of Trans Kids UK FB group, with mothers posting about their *13/14 year old girls* being on testosterone, as prescribed by Gender GP .
The skewed celebration of facial hair and deepening voices and zero acknowledgement of the irreversible damage and lifelong consequences . When,to a 13 y/o girl,'the future' extends to the end of next week, the adults who are facilitating and normalising this need to be accountable - the buck stops with them .
More in one talk than my Drs have told me in 2 years x
The truth sister!
It's like women are this shadowy unspeakable, unknowable thing rather than half the population! 😒 and they say patriarchy is a myth.
Absolutely outstanding speech, so nice to hear such an intelligent woman discuss these issues.
She genuinely cares for women of all ages, with her incredible knowledge and clear and concise explanations how anyone could watch this and think she was a bigot is beyond me.
She's wonderful. Thank you.
Brilliant!! I had heard this about elderly people with Alzheimer’s and forgetting they had transitioned and being so distressed.
I am now doing my pelvic
So amazing. Every woman needs to hear this. Even the ones that don't like us.
She was brilliant. Sat next to me chatting whilst rewriting her talk. Wonderful speaker, can't wait to see her live at the Fringe
You’ll come and say “hi”, right? Xx
@@elainedevlin1804 sure will xx
Thank you Elaine Miller...best talk I have heard for ages❤❤
Absolutely brilliant. Articulate, hugely intelligent and formidable. Exactly what's needed!
Brilliant! She made so many insightful points on health, be it about female bodies, or aging, or about wrong-sex hormones; all very thought-provoking. I am delighted that events like this can still take place, too. There's hope yet! Thanks, Elaine. xx
I wish I could Like this a thousand times!
This is the best speech I've heard in a long while. Every woman should listen to it!
“Maybe we should have a little look at that,” is so gentle and furious at the same time.
Is she Billy Connolly’s heiress?! What a great communicator. A career in comedy is calling...
The video should be grabbed by the NHS for public consumption. It could save so many women and trans lives. I’ve learnt more about self-care from it than from any other source.
Absolutely brilliant speech, delivering the facts and evidence in a loving and humorous way. This should be compulsory viewing for every trans female.
Being American I didn't understand all the Scottish references, but I did learn a lot about menopause! Can't say I'm looking forward to it, so I think I'll start doing some pelvic floor exercises now while I'm still young 😅
Wonderful, funny and compassionate.
Excellent. Keep on talking Elaine, you’re amazing
Elaine is fantastic. Thank goodness for brilliant women like her
Like a few of the others posting - came to view this via Glinner. So glad I did - will be sharing this amazing video with others.
that's so embarrassing for you
As someone with incontinence & a prolapse. I love her & can't bear it that so many young women will have this after a hysterectomy.
I think your sympathies are best placed elsewhere - trans men who transition mostly lead more fulfilled lives and don't want or need your sympathy. Maybe redirect it towards all of the delusional people like you who are obsessing about trans people?
What an excellent talk. Elaine knows her stuff for sure. So many questions around health care - why is this not being address in Scotland (and elsewhere)? Disgraceful.
This was a really fascinating talk, and I love how you can tell just how much she cares for the topics she's discussing
What a woman. The very essence of productive anger. 💗
Thank you for this really powerful truthful and definitely non bigoted speech
Brilliant talk!
Brilliant talk. And at the end about women's anger causing tears- SO relatable.
Bloody hell I've learned more here than in years of taking my fanny to the GP, Gynaecologist and renal consultant. 🤷♀️ and yes young girls being given medication and surgeries is nothing but live experimentation it is horrific. I had a total hysterectomy aged 32, I chose not to take HRT after researching its impact on remaining endometriosis deposits and I was right to do so but after 10 years of really intense hot flashes I gave in. I've been taking it now for 10 years and still have hot flashes but at least they aren't every 20 mins. I also have urge incontinence and recurrent UTI's, I weep for these young girls and the path they are being led down.
Absolutely brilliant! Articulate, funny, compassionate and credible... thank you Elaine!
OMG this women is wonderful.
Thank you for recognising women pretending to be men are still our sisters, and they’re vulnerable. We need to protect them and care for them, even while they shout hate and venom at us, because one day they’ll learn their biology cannot be changed and their quality of life may over before life really begins.
They're like so many angry teenagers in search of a mum they can rebel against.
Love love love this. Thank you Elaine. We need to hear a LOT more from you.
Very well said 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I’m going to share this with healthcare colleagues.
Excellent .
And very entertaining delivery.
That was so informative and funny, and so so sad. But thank you for stating these things as plainly as they should be stated. Thanks.
Incredible talk 👏 Will be sharing far and wide
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 👏
I am so grateful for having watched this.. a million bloody thank yous
Absolutely bang on. Thank you.
I am actually full on fangirling after watching this talk. Fabulous!
Me too
What an absolutely awesome, wonderful woman. You rock Elaine!
Well that was just wonderful!
What a cracking video. Sending a very important message with humour is the best way to do it.
Woman at the Dr: 😥😢😭
Dr: "I know what's wrong with you, you're sad"
Fantastic. Or should that be fannytastic. Thank you so much Elaine. Wonderful.
Congrats from Brazil, Elaine!!!
This was wonderful! have shared widely - thank you Elaine and please keep on keeping on! We need you more than ever now! 👍🏻🧡👏👏👏
Wow! What a fabulous woman.
Wonderful. Thank you so much.
She’s like Billy Connolly talks incontinence
Loads better than Billy Connolly. 🤩
@@moyracarlyle1446 She definitely is. I’m blown away by Elaine and I genuinely mean that.
But i do love the ‘Saddle Up & Ride Your Pony’ bit Billy did.
WOW!! Elaine is amazing. Such important information so wonderfully shared. Thank you Elaine.
Glorious! ❤️
A wonderful event - thank you, Elaine!
Brilliant. Thank you. Funny as it was informative. Not bad for a bigot😁 Imma menopausal bigot too.
My god this was incredibly insightful, informative and entertaining, perhaps even moreso for a blissfully ignorant bloke like me. I'm slightly staggered to be honest 👏👏👏👏👏
OMG. I adore this women. I recently watched her interviewed by Graham Linehan, My daughter has started T and I am so worried she is not aware of most of this. I know I wasn't and I am 47!
you'll have a much better relationship with your child if you get out of this wormhole and start listening to them and affirming them. don't fuck it up over this terf nonsense.
@@laurararararara give over. She’s 24 and lives in reality. She knows she’s not a man and accepts that I know she isn’t. Stay out of other peoples business.
Amazing. Thank you Elaine Miller.
Superb speech. Absolutely superb. I hope to hear more from Elaine in future x
Absolutely outstanding 👏🏻
Brilliant
❤️
Wow! What an amazing woman💗
Doing pelvic floor exercises now! Lol
I thought they just helped for sex. I'm "educated" but til now - NEVER made the connection to how this can positively affect overall health. That's huge! 75% of incontinence and secondary health consequences eradicated. Why don't doctors talk about this? Why aren't there public health alerts about it? But, oh yeah... we can hear about erectile dysfunction every 15 minutes on my morning talk/news radio.
And.... I'm inspired to go see my ob/gyn. Haven't been seen for 14 years since, so ~ in all fairness maybe I haven't heard about the importance of this bc i have been avoiding a pelvic exam.
I'm in America and will be sharing her talk with all my female friends :-)
How utterly brilliant she is.
Bless you, Elaine, you legend! x
What a fabulous woman!
Brilliant speech. Are you listening…Keir Starmer?
That was brilliant. Compassionate, inspiring and full on useful information about your pelvic floor xx
Brilliant and informative. Thank you Elaine. I'm a healthcare professional and would be interested in the slides that Elaine spoke about for PD for me and my team. Is there a link or a website where I can access them please? Thanks, Julie
I will, I’m trying to sort a website and they’ll go up. I’ll get FVF to post the link.
@@elainedevlin1804 Thank you!! 👍

Amazing, we need so much more of this ❤
Brava! Just brilliant!
Excellent speech. Thank you.
Everything you talk about directly impacts me. I'm menopausal, my mother has dementia and my daughter identifies as a man (not taking T. I said "no" ). Elaine thank you for your bravery. I support all that you stand for.
Thank you for your comment, Donna, Elaine’s amazing isn’t she! If there’s anything we can do to support you, please let us know 💜🤍💚
