FYI Helen Joyce is a transphobe with no specialist education or training. She is a well to do with family connections, she can get published if only she can find a subject to sell. Just happens transphobia sells well at the moment. She's from tge same rich vein if British elites as the equally uneducated Douglas Murray. Douglas likes to use a stiff old fashioned English accent to substitute any formal education in any subject he cashes in on.

As a kid, my parents told me that "gender" is just a nice way of saying "sex" with respect to males and females (usually on job applications). Until about 5 yrs ago, the terms were basically interchangeable for most of us. How all of this changed is still baffling to me... and I'm a gay man who "should" have a better understanding of all of this.
At the risk of being canceled, I'll add this one thing: I've known 7 or 8 trans-identifying adults over the past 40 yrs, and all but one completed their transition. None of them were particularly happy or emotionally stable prior to transitioning, and that didn't change afterward. Anecdotal, yes, but certainly worth noting.

There is quite a munchausens like fascination for talking about "the process" in graphic detail, complete with whipping out the phone and scrolling thru their "operations picture gallery", (which feels no different to working with people who want to talk about their sexual escapades in excruciatingly tedious detail every single morning before you've even hit your desk, its the new "flashing" in my opinion, no l'm not being harsh, the audience is a crucial part of the process, it is exhibitionism.
(Ive always swerved any morbid conversations about operations, dislike ghoulishness)
What l find psychologically fascinating is their pull between passing as the opposite gender, and therefore losing an audience, and the opposite pull, needing to stand out all the time, but then, the 2nd choice triggers an involuntary "uncanny valley" response in the audience, which is alienating.
The mental health problems are caused by seeming to have unlimited choices, (As like frontal lobe damage, which also triggers endless rumination and inability to stick with a decision)
I want to be sympathetic, but my irritation with being constantly interrupted is intense, ironically like a projection of their inner conflict.

Thankfully, more and more de-trans stories are being shared on social media and various platforms, to add more balance to this now grossly distorted and convoluted debate! In Scotland it happened because of sex education in schools from a very young age. Nothing was banned Porn, masturbation, anal sex using visual of jar or nutella and a banana, Drag artists reading stories to 5 year olds. the list goes on and on. There are videos on Utube by the Scottish Family party and an ex teacher by the name of Richard Lucas.hoping to educate parents as to how their children's minds are being manipulated. These videos are still live because they are telling the truth but because they get little or no publicity have been viewed by few. SNP voters are totally brainwashed and other parents have no knowledge of what their children are being taught compared when they were at school. I spent some time at a charity table along with two children. One identified as a girl and was sister to the boy who had been born as a girl. The girl was larger and over confident. The boy was slender and and very disturbed. What had happened the sister told me was when the boy (born female) was two the family knew he should have been a boy and mother started dressing her in boys clothes.and he went to school as a boy. He was about 12/13 at the time I met him and cried for most of the day. I should have said earlier they were twins. The girl was in charge and from what she said I felt she was important at school because of her trans sibling. She suggested he needed to get puberty blockers soon. I am haunted by this as I have no way of knowing the outcome. I just think what a tomboy I was preferring to play with the boys, running around the parks, climbing trees and not interested in girly clothes until about 14. Thankfully none of this trans nonsense was around. Biology was taught in school but none of adult sex activity and my parents never questioned that I was not a girl. Nature took it's course and I took a healthy interest in boys.

Interesting description. Hope all the normies, who never fully believed in this to begin with, start to speak up! We really need you guys. And maybe a HUGE part of winning this battle is actually about waking up the normies. Who don't actually believe in gender ideology, but also don't get what the big deal is, because they haven't researched this issue in depth. But if they DID get why it's a big deal..? Very likely, they would care.
Been a strangely beautiful experience, that I did not except, coming out as gender critical to my sister, and opening up to her about my real views on this stuff. I was so scared that she was going to think I was just the WORST person ever! As she's liberal and progressive, etc. But it turns out, she never fully bought into gender ideology. But also didn't think she could voice those doubts, and that she had to go along with the party line to "be nice". And for all the years when I was a brainwashed TRA, she thought she could not tell me ANY of this, because I would dismiss her as an awful person! LOL.. and then I peaked like crazy. But I was scared to tell HER that, because I feared she would think was an awful person! Oh, the irony.. :P But yeah.. Then I finally ended up telling her ANYWAY! And basically gave her permission, and lots of arguments, for why she does NOT have to support this! And she was like: "then I totally don't support it EITHER! 100% with you ALL the way, sis!" And she's now doing research of her own, reading articles that I've been linking her too, etc. It's freaking beautiful!! Plus not only has she been terfing out more and more over the last few weeks, but I figured out today that she's been talking to her, (also straight normie), partner about it too! Which made my supposedly ice-cold heart grow at least five sizes! :P
So yeah.. Maybe all the naturally GC leaning, but somewhat scared, normies, just need to get permission to actually question and reject this stuff? From people that have researched it in depth, and get what's actually at stake here? I feel SO much more optimistic about sharing my views with normies now! Although I still worry about hardline TRAs and SJWs. BUT..? I suppose we don't really need to change their minds. Just as long as we get through to enough of the normies to become a VOCAL majority. Which.. I totally think we can do that, now! Hope this story inspires someone.

And yet the instant women or anyone on the left who has previously been incredibly sympathetic, now raises any kind of doubt or concern whatsoever, you instantly get called a bigot and a right-wing conservative, which has been a hilarious experience for me, a lifelong lefty feminist who supports LGB people.
Getting that from other leftists because I don't want males in women's pri /zons, or I don't like what's being done to kids, or I don't want males competing in women's z portz, has made me stand back from the left and see them in a whole new light.

I'll give you one point further: if they're women why then the need for a prescription of estrogen? Their bodies should take care of that. Intellectually Dishonest Ideologues would counter, "Women(cis) with endocrine dysfunction who need Estrogen Prescriptions are still women!" But completely ignore the fact that dysfunction itself is not the baseline for normal bodily function. In the case of "Transwoman," it's not a matter of endocrine dysfunction thereby necessitating a supplementation of exogenous estrogen, it's a complete absence of bodily processes present in female anatomy itself they're hoping to emulate through hormonal recalibration. The willing denial of reality & blatant Intellectual Dishonesty is why I'm so presently frustrated with the whole concept. At least in the case of Trans people who acknowledge the physical reality of their Sexed bodies- both the very essence & definition itself of what it is to be "Trans"- I have a lot more patience & compassion for because at least they're not partaking in this greater cultural assault against objective reality itself.

I have a granddaughter who had always been a bit theatrical since tiny , knew at a very young age that mummy and daddy could be subjected to emotional pressure to let her have her way , two years ago she had my daughter and her father except her gender fluidity and none binary statues , telling them she had a girlfriend , at age 13. I then looked into the issue to get fully informed , decided this issue was a threat to my granddaughters mental stability and normal development into adulthood , she started other emotional situations that upset both parents, finally I stepped in with parental consent . Did what my father (born in 1902) would have done with his off the rails teenagers . Having established a long and insightful challenging conversation with my granddaughter, I ended the conversation by telling her that I was head of the family and as such all privileges would be removed until she stopped this nonsense , if she continued she would be removed from school and home schooled by me . She was told until adulthood at 18 when free to choose her path she would confirm to the norm , that as adults none of us had a problem if she proved to be a lesbian as a adult or bisexual it would be her life choice , but right now this jumble of gender nonsense will stop.
Result it has stopped ………she is now doing great , the emotional challenging has stopped at home. I firmly believe given the conversations I had with my granddaughter that the heads of schools must take responsibility for the spread of this dreadful brainwashing within its walls !

    🚨 BORING BLOGPOST 🚨
When I was 11 I started questioning my gender. The first person I told was my teacher, and then she told me my feelings were okay and normal. Her and the school principal helped me come out to my parents. My parents didn’t understand but wanted to support their daughter so they took me to a child psychiatrist. He diagnosed me with gender dysphoria and prescribed puberty blockers over the summer. By middle school I was a full-on “boy”. So for almost a year I went by a male name chosen by my mother, and wore male clothing. I had a binder for my chest.
Ultimately it was my mother who got me off blockers, but it took some convincing. I was terrified of getting my period (among other things). She realized this and told me that getting your period was not that scary or painful, and I was comforted, and glad that I wasn’t really trans. Despite getting off blockers at 12, I still wanted to identify as non-binary/agender, because I liked male clothing and having short hair.
Of course, the source of my problems was not being the wrong gender, so I was still miserable at 17. By this point I had finished puberty and hated my body even more. I thought that I really was a male all along. I was suddenly angry at my mother for taking me off blockers as a kid, and I wanted to take testosterone when I turned 18. And I did (after running away from my perfectly fine home). After the first appointment with PP I started injecting Test a week later.
6 months passed. I peaked from reading what radical feminists were saying online. Instead of turning away and pretending not to hear, I listened to feminists. I stopped injecting that day. I wish it didn’t take ruining my voice, giving myself vaginal atrophy, and dissolving my relationship with my mother to realize, but there you go. I’m a boyish woman at 20 years old.
