FAQs??
-How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
-How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

-How much yarn do I need?

I’m about ready to throw my yarn and crochet hook out the window
You have to remember that crochet is practice and patience so don't give up, if you feel yourself getting frustrated put it down and go back to it later or even the next day :)
same 😭😭😭
me too 💀 I've been trying for a while now
me too
Right....
I must be a slow learner as I had to watch the magic circle SIX times! The teacher is excellent and I'm not giving up. We can do it. 😊
Every single video explains in excruciating detail the easiest part and then whips through the rest I’ve had it.
Thank you so much for making this comment
LITERALLY THOUGH AAAAAHHHHH
That’s true, right? Like 15 minutes on how to wrap yarn around 2 fingers!
And I've spent over an hour swearing 🤬
²❤😂@@memoryl4n3
“Now just triple stitch into the circle” Uhhhhh how do I do that ?👄?
EXACTLYYY- i thought i was doing so well 😨😨
You yarn over and pop the hook into the middle of the circle in the same way as you would make a treble into a normal stitch 😊
Bella Coco wth
Right?!

I've been crocheting for over 55 years. Just recently heard about the Magic Circle. Love the look of it and the fact it closes the circle up when needed. However, I have watched numerous videos and was not getting it. Your video was clear, concise, to the point. Thanks for teaching these old fingers a new trick. Now to make some scrubbies.
😀
If you could barely do it... How am i supposed to do it 😀
I was the same as De Ko. Other videos were not showing which exact thread you were using to get the darn thing started. I even had a temper tantrum over something that should be making your crocheting EASIER!! Now I see it. Definitely bookmarking this one. Greetings from Vancouver Canada.
I’ve seen others attempting to show how to make a Magic Circle. 🆘Bella Coco Tutorial has saved my sanity. You have shown that it’s not as hard to make as I’ve seen elsewhere.
I can’t wait to use it.
Lynne from 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Absolutely brilliant! As a latecomer to crochet, I was tearing my hair out when attempting to create circles. This amazing tutorial has made things much much easier!!! Thank you!!!!❤
0:22 Time stamp for the start of magic circle tutorial.
Thank you for your clear and concise explanation of how to crochet a magic circle!
You’re very welcome 😊
I'm from the U.S. and you were the first person that I understood when it came to crocheting. Since I watch your videos so much I've gotten so used to the U.K. terminology. Now whenever I watch an American doing a crochet tutorial, I can't understand them! Why can't the terminology just be the same so that we won't get confused lol.
HammieLuver263 i know its strange that its different! glad you like my tutorials though x
ElizabethBooks i
Same, except that I made a conscious effort to learn UK terminology because my first pattern was British!
I’ve always thought that was a damn good question, Elizabeth!
@@bellacococrochet thank you.
I've been crochet for 3 years. I still have to come back to this video EVERY TIME.
I did it! I did it! I’ve really struggled with the magic ring, failing, which I hate, and flouncing off in a huff for a month or two. Your tutorial was recommended by my sister, as the clearest and best. She was right, which I also hate, 🤣. Thank you so much! X
So glad to hear I'm not the only one!😂
i did it too! :D my first time :D
Yay!!! 😁😁😁 (funny what you said about your sister too 😆)
Seeing so Many comments here talking how stressful this thing AT FIRST. I hope y'all don't mind but I'm glad we're all in this together!
Practice and patience is the key so don't give up as it will get easier :)
@@bellacococrochet hello! And thanks! I've been practicing and as far as I can tell, I already made cocoons. Although I can't show you. They're little cocoons and circlers. My yarn ran out. 🤣
thankyou for explaining so simply and clearly. the other videos i looked at either cover what they are doing with their hands or skip over major/minor details.
You are the best crochet teacher on RUclips. Love how you are straight to the point, no unnecessary info and great pace. Love your accent too.
Brilliant tutorial to follow, have tried others but yours is by far the easiest, thank you.
Finally a magic circle tutorial that is clear! Thank you, thank you! I always forget how to do it and so many methods just make my head hurt. Many thanks!
For those who are struggling, don't give up-- go through tutorials until you find one that works for you. My advice for learning is to keep it simple. Slip knot , chain, single crochet until you've got it. All the lumpy knotted messes (that nearly all of us created at first) can be ripped out or cremated, depending upon your mood.
*You can do it!*
You're very welcome :)
this is by far the best way of teaching the magic circle, I struggled and struggled but now I can do it! Sarah-Jayne thank you so much xx
Wow this is the easiest magic circle i’ve seen by far. Thank you. Other tutorials had me struggling until i saw your video.
You’re welcome 😊
Like all of your tutorials, this is by FAR the clearest tutorial I've seen on how to make a magic circle. Thank you for the effort you put into making such clear and concise tutorials, it really is appreciated. From a beginner crochet wannabe, all the way over in Australia!
Saxamaphonegirl thank so much! It's nice to know the effort is appreciated :) x
Thanks very much for this really simple video. I can FINALLY understand how to do it now! I've watched others do different ways, but yours is so easy, I love it.
I'm a visual learner, so reading magic circle descriptions online are hard to understand.
Onwards I go with my new hobby.....weeeee
Soo-Yun Sun Glad you like it! thanks for watching x
I DID IT AFTER 7 MONTHS! I’ve been trying to do a magic circle since February, and what really helped was being patient and watching alooooot of tutorials. First I learned how to make a square and a regular line of stitches, then I did a granny square, and with all those in mind I came back and was able to figure this out! ☺️😁
Well done for not giving up :)
I just want to say a big thank you for your brilliant tutorials and for someone at the tender age of 70 and very new to crocheting I am having so much fun and enjoying myself immensely. Who says you can't teach an old dog( well in my case and old cat because I'm a cat person) new tricks. Looking forward to learning loads more.
thank you so much. this has been the easiest tutorial to help me.
Never done it before! So easy. Thanks
Thank you for the best tutorial I have ever seen. I have just been ale to produce a proper functional magic circle 3 times in a row. It's not a fluke, I actually know how to do it now.
I'm not really new to crochet but havent been doing it long & also havent yet made a magic circle.
I strongly agree with Mrs T - Out of ALL the videos I watched on crocheting a magic circle yours is the only one that didnt make me look at the end like I was playing Cats Cradle! LOL!
Thank you so much for slow, CLEAR instructions.
You're very welcome :)
I might be repeating what people have said but this is really the easiest tutorial I have ever seen . Thank u so much =)
*me trying to see what she is doing through tears of frustration

I'm literally crying because the other people explain it so bad..
Frog Food omg me too 😭😭😭 did u ever get it ??
Bella, I had just tried to watch 2 tutorial's of 'easy magic circle' .. failures both of them. Thank you so much for making this video! Very easy to understand :D
7 yrs ago damn
Thanks so much for the great instructions! I’ve tried and tried and it’s only through watching your video that I was able to master it! Yay!
Thanks. This video was really helpful. I only started crochet yesterday, but now I know how to make magic circles from memory - thanks to you.
I am a kid and nobody helped me except you! Thanks!

I’ve just started crocheting today and have not gotten the magic circle at all. You were the clearest by far! From a wannabe crochet starter who is very thankful 😊!
You are very welcome and good luck with your crochet journey, remember that crochet is practice and patience :)
Thank you so much! I have looked at so many videos trying to show me how to do a magic circle and yours is the first that makes it easy to understand and do! Again thanks!
Why have I never heard of this before?? It makes the circle look so much neater!
I want to Thank-You for the wonderful instructions on how to make the Magic Circle. You have explained it so eloquently. I've used the old method chaining 2, and placing the stitches in 1st. stitch. It leaves a nasty hole and doesn't look finished. I'm back crocheting after 50 yrs. of a busy life and not doing any crocheting, I've found how to do this the easy way for me. Thanks again.........
I literally cannot explain how grateful I am for this video Bella Coco! I have looked up about 15 videos looking for magic circle tutorials and yours was the only one that helped me! Thank you so much!
You're very welcome :)
same!
I watched soooo many different videos to try and figure out how to do this. I watched your video once and was able to do it! Thank you!
Thanks. First time I did this I had to redo it like 5 times.
Your video was probably the one that worked for me the best. My magic circle looks cleaner now than when I first did it.
Glad it helped :)
Brilliant. I've been bamboozled by magic circles for years but this video made it so easy. Thanks so much.
You're very welcome:)
Best video tutorial of the magic circle on RUclips.
I love your videos and just made a granny square from one of them. I dont think I put enough treble crochets because I ended up with half a circle even when I pulled the tail at the end
Thank you! I have watched several videos on how to make this and yours was by far the easiest!
🙌 I’m so happy that I’m finally able to make a magic ring because your video and explanation were so easy to follow. 😄
I'm so glad that it's been helpful :)
this is the easiest magic circle tutorial I've seen. thank you for helping me understand it!
+Megan Wertzbar My pleasure :) x
+Megan Wertzbar I agree with that! :)
Megan Wertzbar nope
I've gone back to this video over and over when introducing friends to the magic circle. By far the easiest and clearest video tutorial I've found! :)
wrong!!!!!BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am an experienced crocheter, but have had trouble with the magic circle. Just wouldn’t tighten correctly. That is until I saw this unique method! Love your magic knot method too! Thank you!
This is the best instruction on the Magic Circle I’ve seen! Thanks for the work you did to produce this instructional video about the “dreaded” crochet Magic Circle!
Finally learned how to do it! Thank you so much. Your tutorials are the best.
Glad I could help :)
I'm a beginner, your magic circle explanation is great. Thank you!!
I always forget one part of this or another. Having this online is a wonderful asset! When learning something knew, I check you site for videos 1st, You are just that helpful and easy to follow. Thank You!
First try thank god .... being a quick learner is a blessing
Thank you thank you thank you a million times over for this! I've watched about 10 tutorials on how to do this and yours is the ONLY one that worked the first time!!! I love your videos, I've watched several since I've started crocheting 3 weeks ago. Thank you again!! 😘
I have been crocheting for years and have just learned to deal with the giant hole in my projects. I just did my FIRST magic circle with this video!! I can't thank you enough. You're awesome.

I have had the worst time trying to learn the Magic circle. I've watched a dozen videos and still couldn't get it. It was like magic when I watched yours. I had never seen it explained like this. Thank you so much! Now I'm going to tackle those socks I want.
Wonderful and still helping those who find your channel 7 years later! 😁🫶
You are the best teacher I've seen on the net, I have tried and tried to learn this magic circle with your tutorial I have now conquered the magic circle, thanks , thanks.
I just started crocheting and I this is really helpful because I do not know how to do the magic ring but you help me
Glad it's helpful :)
mine turned into a knot 😢I’ll keep y’all updated if I ever manage to do it.
Bella, you really are beautiful! I don't know what it is you have but you got it. I have watched a bunch of folks trying to show me how to do the magic circle and also the slip knot. I could not wrap my head around it or my fingers either lol. Now, I got it! Thank you soooo much.
You are very welcome, I'm glad it's helped :)
Your tutorials have been the absolute easiest to follow. This stitch was driving me NUTS. Thank you

After seriously attempting this sodding magic circle for 15 years I finally did it!!! Thank you for the slow and precise explanation ❤️❤️

Thank you so much for these very clear instructions. I have put off learning how to do this because I thought it would be too difficult, but your video shows it so clearly and easily.
I'm glad it was helpful :)
Thank you for showing how easy making a magic circle is. It looked so complicated in a book I got as a present recently to make toys and other projects.
I haven't tried it yet but will open your video and follow it when I start making my crotchet toys.
Barbara Hale hope you managed to do it :)
Idk how anyone could give this a thumbs down. This is amazing!!
she skipped the treble stitch thats why
@@nikkywindefelde5225exactly. I'm a beginner and was so confusdd

I finally got this! After so many videos and instructions, this finally made EVERYTHING make sense.
Omg Bella I've been watching tutorials all night. Finally I did the magic effing circle. Now I can spend the next 3 months trying actual stitches lol. Thanks girl!
Absolutely the best magic circle tutorial!! Thank you so much!
YOU My Friend are AMAZING! Thank you, I have been trying a Bazillion times to learn this and have watched a Bazillion different tutorials and none of them made any sense at all. BRILLIANT! Thank You So very much! ***Stay Positive in Life, You only Live it Once!***
At last! a tutorial that makes sense. Thank you. I did have to mute it though as the music was a bit distracting.
So easy and simple to follow with clear instructions. 😀Thanks so much! 😊
when you don’t have good yarn cause it’s all tangled up:
*cry*😫😭
I absolutely adore your videos. The production quality and clarity of instructions make learning (or a quick reminder) an absolute breeze. I've tried other videos and every time I always end up right back here. Thank you so much!!
First person to demonstrate this without needless chatter. Perfect. Thank you.
This video is so helpful!! MC is always something that has been so difficult for me to grasp, (full disclosure, it's nearly entirely due to me overthinking everything) but this video has been so incredibly easy to watch and replicate. Thank you so much for making it, the speed and visuals are excellent.
You're very welcome, I'm so glad that it has been of help to you :)
Thank you! This one made sense! Confident now I can make these! Great job!
VERY VERY HELPFUL!! Really easy to comprehend. Thank you. 💕
Thank you so much, got it!
This is so clear, very much appreciated 😊
I saw like three others but this one just clicked! I've learned a really important stitch now, thank you so much!
Looked at several instructions but your's is one of the very best, very clear ,easy to understand and remember, concise instructions. Thank you very much.
Thank you Thank you!! This was the easiest tutorial. I was going crazy trying to figure this out. You're awesome.
I bought a little badger crochet kit from Hobbycraft the other day, because it was a badger and it was cute. Never done crochet before but was reassured by the packet that there's full and easy to follow instructions... my gosh they are not! XD unless you've done this before.
Anyhow, long story short I repeatedly tried to follow your guidance and the instructions but kept failing, so I (mostly) ignored the instructions and just followed your guide and my gosh! I did it! Made this cute circle! And I think I get it! :D
So thankyou so much!
Thank you for a great tutorial!!
I have absolutely no idea how to chain, treble stitch and whatever else you expected me to know
I agree, your tutorial for the magic circle is the best. I got it first try! Thanks so much. 😊
Excellent detailed instructions. Best I've found. Thanks for the post.
thank you soooo much! I had to play it like four times but I'm a slow learner! and yours is the only one I could understand most of all! Thank you!
this is too hard it makes me wanna give up crochet all together 😭😭😭
for real
Please don’t! It takes a ton of practice! I’m learning too. But once you understand it’ll be a breeze!!
Toxiclov AJ i actually ended up getting it yesterday after i said that 🥳😂
maddy g__p YAY!!!
Kiana Gannaban Aww! Please tell me your joking?! I’m so sorry! I understand it can take awhile to learn, i’m a beginner too! I haven’t mastered this either. I would start with making coasters and blankets before I move into this stuff. I’ve made 2 blankets and a couple coasters. I promise if you just keep trying, it’ll all work out. Just so you know, CHUNKY YARN that will be your friend.
Your tutorials are really easy to follow... I swear I knew nothing about crocheting and I started learning it by your videos and I'm just so thankful to you.
Your's is the 6th video on the magic ring tutorial I've just checked out, and THE BEST! The other ones are either too dim, too confusing, or too difficult. Yours is so clear in every sense. The X & the 2 ll is so easy to remember. Thank you!!
happymusics glad it helped you x
This really helped I have watched so many videos and this one was the best tutorial ❤❤❤
I'm glad it helped :)
I did it. I-I-I did it!
Well done :)
Thank you so much- Your description was the best for me. Really appreciate it!!
Fabulous thank you x I couldn't get my head around the other way but for some reason i can do the magic circle xx
I have watched a lot of videos on Magic circles. Yours was the easiest understand. Thank you. :-)
Omg omg today was my first day trying the magic circle and i got it chained onto my hook!!! Now to figure out how to actually make a crochet. 😂 i've only been working for 3 days, but it's small wins like this that keep me going! Keep trying, even if you wanna give up. It takes practice ❤
Yes crochet is practice and patience so the more you do the easier it will become :)
Excellent! You make it so easy, got it right first go. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! I've never crochet before, but I'm trying to learn so I can make a plushie for my bf (a lil ambitious I know!) I've tried this a few times, resarting every time I make a mistake, but I can safely say I think I'm getting the hang of it now. Patience is key!
You are very welcome and yes crochet is practice and patience so the more you do the easier it will get :)
This is the first time I've actually been able to crochet a magic ring, so thanks for that. A lot of the ladies who go to my knitting group can't make it either, so I'll tell them to watch your tutorial.
