"Advanced slip knot"...truly a light-bulb moment. Hands down the simplest and best explanation for the magic circle/ring that I've seen thus far, thanks so much for this enlightening vid!
Aww thanks so much!!! I'm so glad you found it helpful! 🥰
@@FalseBubblesis there any way you can do same video but with it zoomed in the wile time to your hands. You’re a good teacher so I’d like to know if that’s possible. Thank you for all your tutorials.
I cried in. Anger
omg. This was illuminating. I don't know why I struggle so much with Magic Circles. This really helps me. Thank You! And, king the last stitch in the round such a great idea. I like that so much better than marking the first.
I have watched 100 videos and only yours helped it made so much more sense when you compared it to the slip knot
That was great. Closeup and doing it slowly makes it easier to figure out! I knew there was an easier way of doing it. 😊
Honestly.... for those who struggle like me.... I find the "magic ring" to be pointless. I just chain 4 or 5, then slip stitch into the first chain. There.... you've got a circle. Easiest ever!!!
@@jibbityjibbs7466 but then you have a little hole that will never close up!
@@FalseBubbles I don't. You work over the chain.
@@FalseBubbles I wish I could post a pic in here but look up the closed granny square and that's how my centers look. I don't actually mind the little hole, I think it looks great.
OMG is right! I have struggled to REMEMBER how to do the magic circle and you made it so simple for me to get. I do my slip knots the same way so it was JUST SO SIMPLE! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Wow! Best magic circle tutorial ever! I have been doing the magic circle for so long another way and hated doing them! This changes everything for me. The whole process finally makes sense! 😁 Thank you SO much!!
This is by far the easiest magic circl explanation ever! Finally was able to do one
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE TUTORIALS ALL SAY THEY'RE EASY BUT THEY'RE NOT AND YOU GO TOO FAST!!!!!!!!!
💯 true
@katthekitkat234I wish that worked
Why wouldn’t that work I’ll try😊
Fr😭😭
fr
i give up😢
Don’t u will get it never quit
It really is hard and most times mine are way too loose.
NOOOOO DONT DO IT!
I still haven’t learnt this yet but DONT QUIT
Aww it’s ok you just suck 😂😢😅
If only I knew sooner that it is just practically a slipknot and not the complicated advanced thing I always thought it was! I messed up so many magic circles because I was struggling with crossing the yarn over my hand and what not xD Thanks a lot!
Omg I was in the same boat! Once I realised what I was doing it finally clicked!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow...even those of us with advanced degrees have had trouble with the infamous magic ring ! Thank you for making this so simple and easy!!
Wow!!! After a million tutorials that never helped I can finally do it! You just revolutionised my crochet ❤
THANK YOU!!!!! This is the best set of instructions I have found on the magic circle. I always used the slip knot method and every time I tried to make a magic circle, it just didn't flow. You broke this down and made it very easy. You are a very good instructor.
I’m watched like five videos and looked at so many pictures and all it took was 4 minutes of this video for me to get it
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! You explained it so clearly, including the bits that other videos brushed over. This answered all my questions and helped me understand the structure rather than just being a set of steps. And using the stitch marker right at the very start is genius, I wish I had thought of that.
I'm so glad it was helpful!
Some friendly advice: your entry level is all over the place. You specify (rightly) that a marker can go on the first or the last stitch of a round. I have never done ANY sort of crochet or knitting and i understood that.
BUT, things that i didnt undertand:
What is a slip knot ?
What is a chain?
What counts as a stitch?
What do you mean by over the hook? (PLEASE SLOW DOWN YOUR HANDS)
when doing your first real stitch, where you you push the hook in?
How do you stop the yarn sliding off the hook (i.e. hook direction
Its like, the first knot loop thing you do is the perfect speed, everything else feels like it goes at lightning speed with no break in between . Like those drawings that are like 1. Draw a circle, 2. Draw another circle, 3. Add detail, congrats youve drawn a horse.
Im really grateful you put the time into making this, but it very much feels like youre trying to teach people that have zero knowledge, but posess the eyes of a crocheter. To those of us watching this video, this is a pile of spaghetti. You need to slow down and teach us the anatomy and terminology of the stitch
exactly and it doesnt help a beginner when they look in the chat and evryone gets it (beginner or not) this was quite frustrating for me and i feel like she’s trying to teach beginers but it feel targeted towards people who know how to make a magic circle and i trying to improve them not learn from scratch
also for you i suggest learning chains and single crochets before magic rings because that’s what i did and this is still very confusing
but it is easier to comprehend sort of what she’s talking about
@@sneakypuppy6778 I later found some videos by the Woobles, and their videos are very clear!
But if you don't know what a slip knot, single crochet or any other basic stitch is then you need to start with learning those before moving on to something that is more than basic.
Need to learn how to do the chain before doing anything else. This video isn't meant to teach how to do the most basic stitch. There are many, many tutorials to learn to crochet.
@@julieharris146 it's part of starting the magic circle. Starting a magic circle can be explained in a single sentence without video if you already know everything else. But they made a video to make it accessible to beginners.
In addition, how am I supposed to learn those things if I haven't gotten the information on how to START a piece??? Crochet is not something you can start at step 5 and then learn step 1 afterwards
The videos by the Woobles are VERY clear in their video in this topic, both with their terminology and their actions in the video. I recommend to the creator to check out some of those videos to see how they can make their tutorial more beginner friendly
For me if you brought the camera way closer to the work that would be so much more helpful
I want one person to do slow motion close up. This is so frustrating as someone who's never picked up a crochet needle in her life.
I'm so glad I finally seen another person holding the yarn that way. I thought I was the only one. Marking the last stitch makes sense too. Will have to try that. Thank you for a great video!
Hehehe definitely have been told it is improper but who cares!!! Happy to have someone in the same club 🥰
OML TYSM!! I HAVE WATCHED 3 DIFFERENT VIDEOS BEFORE I FOUND THIS!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!❤❤❤
Brilliant! This really is the easiest way to do a magic circle. Thanks loads!
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to use this! You are a lifesaver!❤
I've watched like 5 videos now and I was so confused!😂 This video was the only one I understood.
Thank you so much!❤
Thank you so much. I was struggling so hard that i literally got frustrated. Thank you so much.
Unbelievable!!! This is how I've been doing it... Good to see that I'm not weird in the way I make my magic loop 🤭
Definitely the best & easiest way to make a MC! Thank you so very much!
omg!! thanks you helped me better than all the others😄
Thank you!!! Nobody else talked about the anchoring chain and it was really confusing to me, since my pattern obviously just says to SC in MR, nothing about chaining.
I love how some people understand this and some people don't then I'm just going through the commons to see what people have been through from watching this video so I don't waste my time watching this video and not watching better tutorials😂
i find people's comments extremely clarifying and valuable and like you said you may decide to not watch it after all
... DID I JUST FIND A VIDEO THAT HELPS ME CROCHET BETTER?!!!!! OMG TYSM!!!!!EKEKEKKEKEK IM SO EXCITEDDDDD
That's awesome thank u I will use this from now on thanks .I always had problems
It only took me 2 tries with your method. I don't know how many videos I
ve watched in the last 24hrs. I wa ready to give up. Thank you
OH MY GOSH I GOT IT! it’s literally so easy once you realize it
Right?! I'm so glad it clicked!
Easiest of all videos. Thank you!
After watching multiple videos of people doing the MC, this one was by far the easiest. I guess it depends on how your brain is wired as to what's easiest and what's not. You keep going girl!❤
So basically this method makes it easier to see the first sc stitch in the circle instead of having it mushed together with the slip knot if we did it that way if I’m understanding? Great video as always Megan!
Hey Melissa!!!! The Slip knot method is a bit different and there is a time and place for the slip knot (or I like to call it the "Ch 2 and Single crochet in 2nd Ch from hook" method! LOL. I am a magic circle kinda gal but sometimes the slip knot is a little better for chunky yarn so you don't break the yarn by tugging and it tends to lay flatter!
@@FalseBubbles Oh no, I never got the hang of the slip knot method so I will just avoid forever and stick with the circle that I know and love 😂
@@1lazysloth hard agree 😂
I never could understand why people thought the malice ring was so difficult. You don’t need to wrap it around your fingers at all.
Thank your so much for teaching this!! I lowered the playback speed and it was perfect!!
Thank you so much i just learned it tonight and I've been trying for months i love this style thank you so so so so so so so so sooooooooo much it is so helpful
Very good tutorial! Thank you so much!
Try putting the slip knot onto table, tape the e nd of yarn to the table, then make a chain st,with the ball end of wool, then unstick it from table, and carry on double crocheting into magic loop until you have desired number of stitches
huh?
@@ooohlaa13 stick the loop to work surface just incase it undos or tangles
@@katherinebarbery1762 oh yes very helpful now I get it! thanx for recovery.
This was rlly fun and helpful😊 thanks
BRO WHAT THE HECK WHY IS THIS SO HARD IVE LITERALY RAGE QUIT LIKE 4 TIMES NOW
Thank you! Finally I got it😀
I’m so glad you were going slow with it all of the other ones I have found go so fast with it I give up
i’m trying this today!!!!🎉
Thank you so much🎉. Still working on it😢, but with your instructions, I'll get it! 😊
I'm still pretty new to crocheting and what not and I have got to tell you... This "Magic Ring" was being a Magic pain in my arse!!! Made me want to pull my hair out. Bought a box of crochet creatures for my daughter and myself and i warned my daughter this is WAY too advanced😅.
Im on the hunt for the best technique for a magic circle. I love making plushies so i make them all the time but the way i do it is so awkward for me and takes me so long. Like 2 minutes usually. Fairly, half the time my yarn doesnt want to pull closed (chenille lol) but still! Thats way too much time to start a plush! Thank you
That's great video!! Thx a lot from Japan🥰
I'm so glad it helped!
Thank you Thank you Thank you you made it so easy
This helps but you actually have to pay attention it took a few times to get it but it helps😊
Love your technique, thank u
this will help me a lot, thx!
Thank you so very much for this Megan (I hope I spelled your name correctly). This made my life easier and so as my daughter's. ❤
HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN PUNCHING THE WALL LIKE ME???!!!!! WHY IS THIS SO HARD?????????😭😭😭😭😭😭
This was the most confusing one ever😂
Thank you I had a realy hard time getting haw to make it and now I finally got it it was really easy I hope I can make plushies now
it doesn’t matter how hard i pull it won’t close and when it did there was a loop
Thanks. I totally get it now.
i like this technique
I’m not giving up on this
I sort of get the braiding part but its the holding of the yarn that I keep getting confused with. Either its too tight, or im holding it it in two places or its twisting around while I'm trying to grab it or I can't get the new strand through the ring around the stick. grrr
Very easy to do it perfect❤ it
Already knew these.
Love it! Thanks!
I literally cried
I literally cried on trying to make a magic circle I’m so so so so bad help me please
Not any help 😢
Awesome!!!!!!!!
The second part, which is the hardest, you speed through at warp speed!
I swear I can never find any tut that helps me at all. I cnat
it's a great tutorial, but im actually stupid and have been sat on my bed crying for about 20 minutes, whenever I try to do it it just unravels the whole thing 😭
Oh no!!! Be patient with yourself. It will click! I promise. Definitely lock down your slip knot before you try this one!
@@FalseBubbles it's so bad I've tried doing gloves too and I can't get the hang of that either it's like my brain doesn't process the instruction and I do something completely different 😭😭
@@ruby_ivy gloves are tricky. Make sure you start off with something with a simple shape first!
@@FalseBubbles im going to try make something easier
Thanks - so easy ❤
Omg thx
Subscribed for sure 👍👍
Your voice is so nice
Didn't work for me
I had a knot apparently cuz I couldn't pull it .
I GIVE UP😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Perfect.
To those saying it’s too fast, you can slow it…
Can you make a pattern for the Korok in the background 🙏🏻
i still dont understand but thanks for the effort
Can someone make it with bigger yarn so that we can see what's going on
🎉
I give up this is si hard ive watched so many tutorials videos etc but i just dont get it
I have to do mine with 2 chains I have no idea why but I screw it allllll up if I only chain 1 😂
The chain 2 method is different! The reason why one chain doesn't work is because you are putting the yarn back through the loop you just made... Essentially un-crocheting it.
I thought I was here to make a hand~ LOL
This is how I’ve always been doing MC I’m so confused 😂
Looks like you have been doing it the best way 😉
I just started & can’t do it
Did you really have to tell us it is green yarn????
Yea
Like it’s so weird
I am about to throw my yarn and hook any minute now 😢
We need a chain. It’s sad.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This doesn’t work it’s so small I can’t see what she is doing, I really wished this worked
I’m sorry but I didn’t understand this
so hard to do
I am sooooooo bad it was sooooo hard
😢😢😢😢😢I done rage quit
that sounded so complicated
