1:19 _Utilitarianism_ - You mean how God sent a lying Spirit to Ahab (1 Kings 22; 2 Chronicles 18) or gave Israel bad rules and statutes to pass their children through fire (Ezekiel 20:25-26)? You mean how God gave his moral Law to Israel that allowed for women to be raped and for the owning of chattel slaves but all this is done away with in Christ 4,000 years later? With God, the ends do justify the means. There are countless examples of this in the Bible. 6:16 _You shall not covet_ - This has nothing really to do with porn. If the porn actress is unmarried then this commandment is irrelevant. The Old Testament says nothing against sleeping with prostitutes. And this commandment only applied to Jewish/Hebrew women only. There are allowances for taking women from other towns (Deuteronomy 20:14) and killing their husbands, waiting a month before raping them (Deuteronomy 21:10-13). Un-betrothed Jewish/Hebrew virgins are allowed to be raped by men and there is even a law that forces the rape victim to marry the rapist (Deuteronomy 22:28-29) 7:58 _Proverbs 6:25-29_ - The NASB is not being honest with the text here. Go read the LXX for reference. There is a comparison and contrast being made here. Do not desire [the adulteress married woman] in your heart. A harlot/prostitute costs only a loaf of bread. This proverb is saying do not sleep with your neighbors wife. Sleeping with a prostitute costs a lot less and is a better choice between the two. 12:10 _Salvation is free_ - It costed God nothing to crush his Son. Jesus left his former glory momentarily and gained the whole world through the process. Jesus nor the Father sacrificed or gave up anything in Christianity. Because salvation is freely given and costed God absolutely nothing, it is of no worth or value. This is why people in works-based religions like Mormonism are viewed as nicer happier people than those of mainstream Christianity. Christians don't appreciate or respect their own faith because they don't earn it. You can list verses about the heart and God judging the heart all day long, but if God's Law doesn't make clear God's moral standards concerning sex and lust, man cannot make a proper judgement. There is nothing prohibiting polygamy, concubines, or prostitution in the Old Testament. If this is wrong, why didn't God say so for 4,000 years. If there is no law, how are we to know if an action is right or wrong? Paul makes this point in Romans. If two single and consenting adults have sex, and there is no commandment prohibiting the action, how is this wrong according to the Pentateuch? If I am married (which I am and I have 8 children with my wife of 16 years) and I view porn, how am I cheating according to the Pentateuch? Does the concept of cheating even apply to a man under the Old Covenant? The women being filmed or photographed consented and I consent to view, how is this morally wrong without referencing the New Testament? I don't think you can without redefining the original meaning of _adultery,_ and performing word gymnastics, or quoting from Mishnah/Talmud. Obviously Jesus expanded adultery to mean "looking upon a woman with lust" but is that really what the Old Testament teaches? And did Jesus understand adultery to mean a _married woman_ or any woman? If so, Jesus meant looking at a married woman with lust was wrong. Looking at an unmarried and un-betrothed woman with lust is okay. Anyone planning to get married has a sexual desire to sleep with their future spouse. How is lust a bad thing? I've rambled on long enough but any person who is married has _a strong sexual desire_ a.k.a. lust for their spouse.

Nobody is right about everything. We can't put preachers on a pedestal. We need to lift them up in prayer continually, because they are the most vulnerable to attacks of Satan.
@@chriscavanagh6017 I agree we should not be putting preachers on pedestals. But that's not what's happening here. A (good) preacher will tell you that sin is wrong and must be struggled against, even when he himself fails. In this case, though, the "preacher" (Mr. Prager) is affirming the evil/sin. There is no struggle. There isn't even acknowledgement. He's just flat out wrong, and I agree with the OP (Tons) that likely he uses porn himself and has found a way to justify it to himself.

He is more of a philosopher than a believer. Same with Jordan Peterson. I thinks believers look for these two as if they are Biblical leaders. But they are just conservative thinkers that value Judeo-Christian ethics.
Exactly. It would be wise for people to be more vigilant. For personal experience, I care about their political commentary and mutual belief in constitutional conservatism. Many commentators have bad theology, though IMO!
I used to pray Psalm 51 after I had sinned with porn. In that Psalm, David is acutely aware that the real issue was not what he did externally, but it was the heart attitude that lead to his behaviour. So he prayed, _"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. You need you need to read through the Gospel accounts again. The Pharisees loved to put on a show about how much they believed in the authority of Moses' writings like traditional Christianity does today, but they _didn't_ live do what those writings required. Being a law keeper isn't a problem. Refusing to do what it requires is the problem.
I will try to make a long story short, I'm a 40 year old male virgin. And mostly the reason wasn't for Christian abstinence, until I became born again in 2019. I used to be afraid of relationships with women because I was afraid of being rejected by not fornicating well. I have a man's brain, because I am a man. I thought that women had a similar sexual view as me. You don't think I was stimulating myself to porn? That's the closest I'd ever thought I would get to losing my v card. Porn was a bad thing for me because it offered me an escape from dealing with my issues. Worse off how do I know I wasn't stimulating myself to a trafficed woman or an underage woman? Porn is just bad, I had a relationship that I broke off. I was happy and able to focus on being her friend after I felt like I'd get to consumate a marriage with her. Looking at porn isn't loving women (or for the ladies, loving men). I will die a virgin if it matters that much to my Lord and Savior.
@MACH1, You are not missing anything my friend. Fornication NEVER satisfies beyond the duration of fornication. I regret and cringe at all my pre-Christian fornications because I know now it sinned against God and was bad for me and the women spiritually. I pray you will meet a woman you love and get married. (And me too!) God bless Sir.
Mosaic Law is a rather sturdy foundation, though. I don't understand how Dennis reaches the conclusion he does through the Law, however. Given the strictness of that legal code on sexual matters, it's absurd to conclude that it allows pornography. With that said, pornography is obviously preferable to adultery -- it's the lesser of two evils, if that counts for much.

Salvation in the Old and New Testament has always been by Faith Alone. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6, ESV)
I'm a recovering addict. What Prager said is bunk. No good comes from porn. None. Ever. A decade ago, right around the time I started reckoning with what I had done, my younger sister came to me and revealed that the man she was dating watched porn regularly, he had stopped trying to hide it from her, and he was saying some of the same things Prager did here. Just as bad, some of her friends who are women told her the same thing: "All guys do it, you'll just have to live with it." She asked my opinion. I told her that no, she didn't have to accept that. A vast majority of guys in our time have, I believe, succumbed to that temptation at least once, but the important thing is what is happening now. Is the man in question repentant and fleeing from it? Good. Even if he's fallen before, that's the heart he needs to have. Is he unrepentant and sees no problem with the sin? That's a big red flag kiddo. Thankfully she moved on from the guy in question. And God is helping me too.
There is no such thing as porn addiction. It isn't diagnoseable, and porn users don't commit robbery or other serious crimes because they need their porn fix. Porn is only a problem if you have a problem with it. As for me, I'm currently in a happy relationship with a woman that has gone on for 10 years now, and she has never had a problem with my occasional porn viewing habits. I have never once preferred porn to her, wished she would do something I saw in a porn movie, wished she resembled some porn actress, or felt resentment toward her if she was unavailable for some reason. Nor have I ever come away from it wanting her less. The one time she actually walked in me watching porn, she laughed and made fun of me, THEN led me back to the bedroom for sex. I know you'd like to believe that my relationship is a bad one and/or that I'm some dysfunctional pervert, but offending the sensibilities of the anti-porn movement doesn't constitute a clinical diagnosis of anything.
Saying you should watch porn so you don't cheat on your wife is akin to saying people using meth keeps them from using heroine. It's laughable. They're both bad.
When I heard Prager's argument I immediately thought, "that's just bad Judaism, and terrible logic." Far from keeping men from adultery, it will lead them to it... aside from it being actual adultery in and of itself.

One scripture I would like to add to the conversation is in the Book of Job, "I have made a covenant with mine eyes why then shall I think upon a maid?" Three questions I have to someone who supports Dennis prager's viewpoints, number 1 why does Job even need to make a covenant with his eyes at all if what Dennis Prager said was true, number two why does this Covenant specifically connect the eyes with inner thoughts, number three if this Covenant is not in light of what Jesus taught then (which Prager openly mocked in the interview) what does it mean? This conversation upsets me partly because of my past struggle with pornography, how deceptive this is of a false teaching, and how influential Dennis Prager is. It makes me hesitant to want to listen to anything from his group anymore...
As someone who struggles and has struggled with porn and masturbation on and off for years now, and is having trouble to fully leave it behind. To me this man basically admits he's struggled with it or continues to struggle to leave porn behind.
I USED TO struggle with it. Then I fasted for days praying fervently to be fully delivered of any demons provoking it, to be cleaned of the desire and any doors to the devil be shut. I threw out any movie that had any sin shown, (which took out most of my movie collection), and deleted any social media that provoked sexual thoughts. I went to "unshakled deliverance" FREE youtube videos where I did hours of self-deliverance along with his videos. At first I had to resist the devil so he would flee. But then God took away the desire...until/if I marry a Godly partner. It's been over a year with zero fails. I thought that was impossible but with God, all things are possible. I will wait 100% celibate using my energy to serve God and ascend His holy hill.
This is like saying prostitution is OK as long as it is an adultery prophylactic ( no pun intended ). It was only a matter of time before Dennis Prager would commit such error. He has always been a utilitarian. He doesn't understand the basic spiritual concept of lust ( coveting what doesn't belong to us ) leading to adultery, but that in God's eyes both are sin. I once attended a discussion between Dennis Prager and Alistair Begg. Ships passing in the night. Prager simply was blind to profound biblical truth. He will not likely see the light anytime soon. Christians be warned. I was given a copy of Dennis Prager's "Rational Bible" Book of Exodus. Reading through it told me all I needed to know about Dennis Prager's "theology". It's reductionist and utilitarian to the core. There was not a single page of his book that contained a scintilla of inspiration. Why? Because the Spirit of God did not attend it's writing.

Everything aside, porn is literally a stepping stone toward seeking more thrills, deeper depravity AND creating a false ideal of intimacy and sex. It's not even debatable, it's a proven fact. Studied and published. John Doyle has a good video about it.
if I took his advice I would be lusting for other women at every turn...If you look at a woman to lust for her you commit adultery.....He is believing a LIE......by the way I love your show......ventura, ca.
There's no excuse for someone who's honestly against the sexual degeneracy to not support the criminalization of pornography, considering that pornography is the main way of promoting sexual degeneracy in a society, so the only problem is that some conservatives doesn't make a distinction between actual pornography, and between adult entertainment or modelling, which doesn't include pornography.
Considering that even the Buddha 500 years ago before Jesus said, "Commit no adultery. This law is broken by even looking at the wife of another with a lustful mind." Adultery starts in the mind.

Inviting someone in your channel and not knowing that it is on favor of husbands watching porn, could actually hurt his testimony. Kirk needs to be careful to give a platform to people who has not values.
Dennis horribly misses the impact on the lives of those performing the pornographic media. These people are committing sin, and many of these women are lured into this sin by money and/or drugs. The pornographic industry is connected (directly or indirectly) to sex trafficking. Viewing porn encourages more of these sins, even if it's for free. There is no "good" side to sexual immorality.
Every porn video actually begins with a disclaimer that all the people involved were 18 or older and sought this line of work, and the date of production is included for anyone to backtrack. Joanna Angel even mentioned that she receives far more applicants than she has time to review. With such a huge pool of potential "talent" to chose from, why would anyone in this industrty resort to dealing with slavers and sex traffickers? Even setting aside morality, if porn performers aren't enjoying what they're doing, it isn't even going to look good on camera. The point is to produce a heightened performance. Of course it doesn't resemble most sexual encounters, in much the same manner that WWF matches don't resemble most real fights.

It's ironic that Dennis would say that it is ok if it keeps the husband from committing adultery, but looking at porn will cause lust which means he has committed adultery already in his heart.
That's actually Dennis' whole point - that he doesn't believe one can commit adultery in the heart. He's wrong, of course.
To Prager, there's no New Testament, because he's Jewish. I wish more people would understand the implications of a worldview that excludes the New Testament but contains the Old Testament and the Talmud.
@@IndyDefense The old testament also speaks of sins coming from the heart and adultery as a sin of the heart - Job 30v1 I made a covenant with mine eyes, why then should I THINK UPON a maid?

I used to pray Psalm 51 after I had sinned with porn. In that Psalm, David is acutely aware that the real issue was not what he did externally, but it was the heart attitude that lead to his behaviour. So he prayed,
_"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit."_
and later,
_"Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, O God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. It is obvious that Dennis engages in the watching of pornography. His justification of it is a form of denial towards its destructiveness. In my experience in the field of addiction, the people who normally defend destructive behavior are normally engaged in it themselves.

Mosaic Law is a rather sturdy foundation, though. I don't understand how Dennis reaches the conclusion he does through the Law, however.

This was great. I don’t often agree with you, but you did a great job on this one.
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord,
Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

The blind leading the blind
One scripture I would like to add to the conversation is in the Book of Job, "I have made a covenant with mine eyes why then shall I think upon a maid?"
Three questions I have to someone who supports Dennis prager's viewpoints, number 1 why does Job even need to make a covenant with his eyes at all if what Dennis Prager said was true, number two why does this Covenant specifically connect the eyes with inner thoughts, number three if this Covenant is not in light of what Jesus taught then (which Prager openly mocked in the interview) what does it mean? This conversation upsets me partly because of my past struggle with pornography, how deceptive this is of a false teaching, and how influential Dennis Prager is. It makes me hesitant to want to listen to anything from his group anymore...
I shut Dennis off after he said Jesus never claimed to be God.
He is so good on so many issues, but the ones he's wrong on are YUGE.
Hello Ethan from wretched. How are u doing today?
Good morning! Doing great! What'd you think of the video?
- Ethan from Wretched
@@WretchedNetwork it was awesome.
I feel very excited to hear from u. God bless u very much and your ministry sir amen
Very well said Todd!
Why? Because the Spirit of God did not attend it's writing.
..1) If God wasn`t forced to created?
2) And God know beforehand he created he will create something he doesn`t want (sin) and due to his will of creating that most mankind will be doomed to eternal suffering in hell?
3) And If God don`t want that people to be in eternal pain.
4) This God won`t create something in the first place..
That Jesus clip sounded like Jesus the New Yorker 😄
Everything aside, porn is literally a stepping stone toward seeking more thrills, deeper depravity AND creating a false ideal of intimacy and sex.
It's not even debatable, it's a proven fact. Studied and published.
John Doyle has a good video about it.
What's the bet Dennis Prager just excused porn because Dennis Prager watches porn.
if I took his advice I would be lusting for other women at every turn...If you look at a woman to lust for her you commit adultery.....He is believing a LIE......by the way I love your show......ventura, ca.
And that is why Dennis has been Divorced three times
There's no excuse for someone who's honestly against the sexual degeneracy to not support the criminalization of pornography, considering that pornography is the main way of promoting sexual degeneracy in a society, so the only problem is that some conservatives doesn't make a distinction between actual pornography, and between adult entertainment or modelling, which doesn't include pornography.
I’m so glad you made this video. I’ve been praying for Dennis Prager. I hope he sees this and he is convicted.
What is the movie called that is referenced in this video? If anyone knows, please let me know, I appreciate it.
It’s the gospel of Matthew movie from visual Bible
@@cordsman Thank you!
He also mentioned that Bisexual is a good thing and that is most likely a normal behavior.
Yup! He said that god makes us naturally bisexual and we get to choose if we are gay or straight 🫠
In the Old Testament these types of things brought death to those who were guilty of these crimes
Speechless
How can Dennis say he’s lived alertly life when he hasn’t been to the temple and made sacrifices?
Considering that even the Buddha 500 years ago before Jesus said, "Commit no adultery. This law is broken by even looking at the wife of another with a lustful mind." Adultery starts in the mind.
This is going to be really dumb, but what movie is this at 2:47 ? I see you posting clips from this so much and would love to give it a watch, thanks in advance.
Gospel of Matthew I believe
@@noah.s95 Thank you so much!
I knew there was a reason why Dennis seemed so one-sided, he doesn't know Jesus so his own righteousness will not get him to Heaven.
That is what you get from the unbelieving world. He, being a Jew doesn't make him righteous.
imagine paying Daily Wire money to have two atheists like Jordan B. Peterson and Dennis Prager to teach you theology.
Right??
Dennis Prager isn't an atheist though.
Theology is not their main focus. They are mostly political
JP is Catholic
Neither Prager or Peterson are atheists…
Spot on... these men need to be more accountable for what they say....
SO MUCH FOR PRAGER IN MY ESTIMATION.SOMEONE WHO GIVES THAT COUNSEL DOES NOT HAVE THE WISDOM OF GOD!
Dennis seemed like a decent guy when i used watch him ...but this is quite shocking im speechless. 😑 peace 2u and God Bless y'all
He was just interviewed by Kirk Cameron!😮
Maybe you need to give a call to Kirk and discuss this with him.
Todd, I know you are friends with Kirk. Inviting someone in your channel and not knowing that it is on favor of husbands watching porn, could actually hurt his testimony.
Kirk needs to be careful to give a platform to people who has not values.
Good words.
Great response!
Prager Translation: “I watch porn and I’m justifying to you why”
what was the name of the movie from the last clip, the part with the quote "depart from me"
Good will become evil and evil will become good
Exactly!
I subscribed so Todd won't be sad
Very well said thank you Todd.🇦🇺
