The collide album was the first skillet album I bought. This band has made leaps and bounds and has evolved into a great band.
This album was their major-label debut. Lori Peters is the drummer on this...really solid player. Ben Kasica played the guitars on this album. I think he was only 19 when he recorded this. Skillet has about 4-5 albums before this one (on independent labels), but they rarely ever play any of the old songs in concert anymore. I asked John why he doesn't play the old stuff, and he said that the fans don't want to hear that stuff. I'm not so sure about that, but hey...what do I know.
The “new bandwagon fans” since the Comatose album don’t want to hear the old stuff.. I would want to hear songs like “I Can” “Locked In A Cage” “You’re Powerful”. “Stronger”. mixed in 🤷🏻♂️

@@apec335 I can understand with their “mainstream” shows… but at the Christian shows, they should pull out a few old songs for the real “Panheads”

But from experience everytime an old gem gets played, only a few real panheads are celebrating which makes everything underwhelming unfortunately

This album is probably my favorite and I think it's pretty good
The song Collide from this album needs to be heard and reacted to! It'll satisfy your bass needs, very strong in verses.
You could definitely hear the Nu-Metal (almost Korn-esque) elements in this song, and honestly, you can hear the Nu-Metal elements in the entire album that this song is from (which is probably why i like it so much). But yeah, you'll rarely hear Skillet ever play any song off of the Collide album live, due to most of their fans being from the Comatose album era from Skillet. Also, if your curious, In the 90s, Skillet were a Grunge band, in 2001-2002, they were an Industrial Metal band, and obviously in 2003, they were a Nu-Metal band.

Finally I’m able to understand the whole song better. I was never able to really grasp the subdivisions and understand where the beat was in them. That’s why I love your videos. Instead of just pointing out the different sounds you explain them and how they’re made.
I’ve always understood music pretty well but have still learned several new things from watching you. Keep doing what you do. And hopefully you can make it to their concert🤘🏼

Just you recording yourself throughout your trip, with some clips going to the event, some clips at the event, and some clips after the event summarising your thoughts.
And all clips put together to make a video, it can be anywhere around 5 mins to 10 mins or even longer.
5 mins is quite short.
Yes that’s the album cover. The first five albums are the best. Self-titled, hey you, I love your soul. Invincible, alien youth and collide.
My mother (who at the time was a hardcore Baptist) blew a gasket when I told her they were a Christian band. 😂😂 now, she’s got out of her denominational bubble and loves skillet now.

Fingernails brings that intricate syncopated rhythmic sequence of patterns demonstrated within the guitar sector….. or something….

One of my favorite song from the collide album!
A decent song, one I think takes multiple listens to in order to really get into it, at least at 1.75x speed anyways.
I've never put this in my playlist either. Good but Non-memorable is a perfect assessment. lol. hope to see a Theocracy review soon! :) have a great day!

Never really liked the "non mixed" sounds in this album, just lots of buzz and harsh noises, but i guess

Never really loved this song, definitely some somgs from this album where great, but from awake album and up is what i jam to.
