Sabaton has done quite a few good covers.
Sabaton has kick ass music, one of their weaker points is lyrics simply because they aren’t native English speakers, so they do pretty well with covers imo

I'd like to add aces high by Children of Bodom
the main riff kicks so much ass (especially the transition from 2nd chorus to outro) and the solo is lowkey one of my favorite CoB solos of all time...Aces High is a great song by itself, and it exists both as a great piece from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal as well as from finnish melodic deathmetal, and both performed by pioneers and (arguably) the best band of their genre
Honestly Children of Bodom’s Rebel Yell cover is fantastic, and Alexi’s clean vocals are some of the best

Testament's cover of Powerslave is my favourite song ever. It acutally improves the original imo.
You'd think it impossible to improve upon perfection, but the madmen actually did it.

Disappointed I didn't see Pantera's cover of Black Sabbath's Planet Caravan or Type O Negative's cover of Paranoid. Both are incredibly inspired.

Imo, Type O did better with Black Sabbath than they did Paranoid, but both are solid covers
I’d add The Badge or Cat Scratch Fever by Pantera instead of Planet Caravan which is also a great cover

Anthrax did sabbath bloody sabbath, which is also good.
Venom covering Black Sabbath's Megalomania was pretty spot on
Also Sepultura covering Motorhead's Orgasmatron, but motorhead being metal band may be questionable
Motörhead were definitely metal by that point in their discog, so it does qualify. And yes, it is the best.
Man! Double brutal is a little gem of an album, especially for terminator geeks like me.
Although, I think the best cover in there is "Gotta Go" by Agnostic Front. Definitely a must in a future metal covers of punk songs video
Slayers cover of Dissident Aggressor by Judas Priest is amazing
I like it but I just think the original goes so much harder tbh
It's great but they did it as a filler of South of heaven because the lyrics talk about war.

For a long time I thought Sepultura's version of 'Symptom of the Universe' was the original 😅 I ended up getting more attached to it than Sabbath's. They did a great job imo

Manilla road's 1983 production vs Visigoth's 2015 is exactly the kind of direct contrast that confirms my preference for the oldschool. Each their own I suppose, but nah lol.

Painkiller by Death is definitely one of my favorites, I absolutely love Chuk's "clean" voice and was very surprised when I heard it for the first time but the whole "The Sound of Perseverance" album is an absolute masterpiece. I also like Opeth`s cover of "Would" so much and I am very picky with AIC covers (especially the Layne era ones) since they are my favorite band, I am so happy you mentioned it and that someone finally agrees that AIC is metal! (Also watched the whole video on that, I loved it and couldn't agree more with you).
I love Exodus covering Overdose by AC/DC. From the album Fabulous Disaster. This album also has a great cover of Low Rider.
This is the Only Exodus album i like. I recently tried listening to their catalog again and its not my bag of tea. Except Fabulous Disaster.
Anaal Nathrakh covering Powerslave by Iron Maiden fucking rips, it sounds like listening to Maiden on crystal meth

Ugly Kid Joe - Nativity in Black from the Black Sabbath Cover compilation album.
I can't believe no one has reccomended Ghost's cover of Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden. That whole cover album is good but that's the only metal song on the album.
There are three full albums of Slayer covers, "Slatanic Slaughter", all covers there are excellent, but my personal favorite there is "angel of Death" by Liers in Wait.
Lets just say you might have to do another video with some of these suggestions. Here is a few from me:
Beast in Black - Battle Hymn (OG Manowar): They make this Manowar epic feel like an intricate part of their Dark Connection album
Aces High - Tommy Johansson (OG Iron Maiden): former Sabaton guitarist and Majestica lead turns this Maiden classic into a power metal belter
Drink - Skálmöld (OG Alestorm): Icelandic viking metal cover of a Scottish pirate metal song about alcohol? Yes please!!
1916 - Sabaton (OG Motörhead): No words needed. A beautiful yet horrifying song.
Hallowed Be Thy Name - Machine Head (OG Iron Maiden): A cover that is both faithful and has their own spin on it.
Helloween - Electric Eye (OG Judas Priest): a faithful cover that's just as good as the original
Aerials - Amon Amarth (OG System of a Down): who knew a viking death metal cover of a nu metal classic could be so epic

@@malnero8540 I can't get over that guitar tone in the original CF version, especially the To Mega Therion album. A good example of how important your tone is for heaviness not the tuning because that song (probably the whole album?) is in E standard 😮
Moonsorrow's cover of Non Serviam is redefining. Not that Rotting Christ's version isn't good, but Moonsorrow's version is simply one of the best songs ever.
