I learned so much from this.Beautifully paced, clearly shot, absolutely no bs-an unfussy video. Well done & it's crying out to be watched numerous times.
Truly appreciate this comment👊👊. I have found that I truly enjoy watching build videos that don’t contain any speech. Ishatani Furniture is the apex of this. I try to follow this format and eliminate all the “noise” of a typical video. Glad you enjoyed this!
Great job!
Rob Cosman's Dovetail Tip is Good.
But, End grain+Long grain dovetails has some problem Seasonal Movement of woods.
This had me confused, I learned the hard way on this.
That’s a beautiful chest and I admire your craftsmanship. The only thing I didn’t care for were the drawer pulls. They seemed too big and I personally don’t think they didn’t balance well with the overall style of the chest. Something thinner and horizontal would have fit better.
Looking great!
Absolutely beautiful. ☺☺
Thank you so much!
Very nice. Great editing and video work too.
Thank you very much!
The best one yet! 🔥
Thanks, Brother 👊👊
Looks great!
Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful amazing work
Thank you, Jim!
Looks like you've been doing this for awhile. LOL! You make it look easy!
Haha - one might say I spend more time in the shop than getting proper sleep. Lol
Beautiful work. Love the spalted maple and red heart combo. Dovetails so precise, nice job.
Thanks!! First time using the red heart, but definitely not the last!!
Novel idea to dovetail the bottom. Wood movement on this bottom and how it is joined to the box may cause problems long term. Otherwise a very nice job
Agreed it typically isn’t used in this fashion. Normally I would not do this but this build was a copy of one done about 20 years ago which had the same design. Once I saw it, I had to build it. Lol
Beautiful piece. Thank you for your service .
Thank you, Rich👊👊
Another stellar build. Great job.
Thanks!! Had a blast making this one
Very nice piece. Love your work and attention to detail. Love my Cosman tools also.
Thanks!! And agreed - Cosman tools are absolutely incredible. Love mine.
Thank you for sharing! Great work.
Thanks!
I like the dovetail breadboard ends.
Thanks!
Very nice. Thank you
Beautiful choice of timbers and excellent execution of the Dovetails. Only one thing I find that detracts from the piece are the Dovetail layout lines left on the faces. But that is a personal taste thing and therefore is completely subjective.
Thanks, Phil! Sometimes I go back and forth on the layout lines. Some days I’m “for them” and others “not so much”.
WOW!
Very nice. Subbing.
Thank you! Truly appreciate that!
Yes, beautiful work. Are you a Rob Cosman PHP “student”? Noticed your Ordnance Corps guidon (retired FA myself) and Cosman tools. Really outstanding work.
Thanks, Paul! Not a PHP member, but pretty much owe all my dovetails skills to that man. Haha
3ID, when were you there? Awesome work.
Yep, I was there from 2001 to 2005 at Ft Benning 👊👊
Precioso baul
muchas gracias!!
❤
Bonjour de France
Joli travail, c’est une très belle boîte à outils, avec de belles queues d’aronde
Félicitations
Thanks! And love that you were from France and watched this!!
Is the section above the drawer floating or did you fasten it? I didn’t see it covered in the video.
Yep. The internal shelf (that sits above the drawer) is free-floating. It sits on small shelf supports. And, until your comment, I realized I didn’t include any of that in the video 🙄. Sorry about that! Good catch!
