I hope you keep making more videos they are very entertaining, with good designs, and your stop motion is something unique from normal woodworking videos. It’s a nice change.

This is absolutely amazing. I have minimal tools (multi-use drill and some saws) and an expensive mortgage, so my plan is to build a woodworking nook. Im saving this for when I get a router! Thank you, Paul! Cannot wait to see what you build and share next!
Thanks so much and I'm glad you found inspiration in the build! I'm also looking forward to starting videos again in 2025, until then... Happy building mate!

Just send me an email to vanislandstudio@gmail.com. I wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy building your workbench! Paul
Wow, why haven't you come up on my feed before. Probably the best 25 minutes I've spent in quite a while. Not sure what impressed me more your woodworking skills or video editing ones. Earned a like and a sub. Also very heart-warming watching you work with your dad. Cherish those moments with your mum and dad, make as many memories as you, because once there gone their gone, sadly I know from experience. A big hello from Spain.
Hi Frank, you made it to the end of my video! Thank you so much for my smile that I'm wearing now :) That means a lot to me. I greatly appreciate your comments, especially about our mom's and dad's and your experience. I get to see them again in 4 days time and really looking forward to it. Thanks for the like and the sub my friend, all the way from Beautiful Spain! Cheers from a sunny and bit of a rainy morning here on Vancouver Island. Paul
Absolutely brilliant. Your attention to detail and design are beyond next level. My OCD can rest easy. I’ve found the woodworking Yoda. I can’t wait to get through your back catalogue. Thank you 👍
Ha Your OCD resting now and the woodworking Yoda really made me laugh! That's awesome and makes me want to do more.Than you so much and Thanks for your support!
Hi Sven, I feel sad after reading your comment. It makes me realize how lucky I am to, like you said, spend time with my dad in the shop, and get time with my mom. Thank you brother ❤️
Your videos are equally engaging and educational. With the professional quality of editing you apply, you're like the Steven Speilberg of woodworking videos! I'm looking forward to seeing more. Cheers from a fellow BC westcoaster.
Been watching different woodworking channels for a while now and I have some favorites, and I still love them as well. I have to say though, this is the first video of yours I have seen and the editing is off the charts. Great video and I hope to see more, I am now SUBSCRIBED!
I also have my favourite channels that I love, and there are a lot out there, and I am thankful that my video found its way to you and even more so that you happened to enjoy it! I'm looking forward to sharing more with you and I greatly appreciate your comment and your support! All the best to you, Paul
A Gem! Ha :) Thank you so much for your comment Evan! That made me smile this morning and I appreciate your encouragement to keep at it! All the best to you!
I'm pretty happy it found you too brother! I just checked out Franks site and immediately subscribed. Nice David Clarks BTW :) All the best to you! and thanks so much again! Paul
Came here because Lincoln Street sent me. The video quality here is insane for such a small channel. Instant sub! We will watch your career with great interest!
Hey Alex, that was incredible of Jon from Lincoln St and thanks so much for stopping in and for the sub! I'm looking forward to sharing more with you. All the best to you!
In the "middle" of the Workbench build (the plans are truly amazing)... but I'm modifying it heavily to incorporate a planer and jointer and two sections of the table top will be removable (the jointer and planer are on jacks... jointer is on a motorcycle lift and planer is on scissor jack)... the length I'm extending to 11'4" and to compensate for the added weight I'm using 2x6 instead of 2x4 but your plans are pretty darn easy to modify because they are so freaking good to begin with. I say all that so that if someone actually reads this they will know that they should not hesitated for an instant to purchase your plans. THANK YOU!!! for the tremendous amount of work you did on them.
Hey Mike I really enjoy reading about the details and modifications you are making. Some amazing ideas you have there and that is going to be one heck of workbench!! I greatly appreciate the time you took to leave your comment and that you found my plans easy to understand and follow. Makes me feel great bud! All the best to you and a big THANK YOU Again for your time and reply here, Cheers! Paul
Reading this sure brought a smile to my face! Its very encouraging to hear and thank you so much for that. Looking forward to sharing more with you, Cheers!
I gotta learn that snap trick at 11:05. In all my years of projects I haven't been able to do that one. Crazy how fast it makes things come together. I don't understand why people you didn't use that trick every time.
So glad I saw someone put the miter saw on the right end of the table! Every video I've seen has it on the left, which doesn't make sense for a right hander cutting a long board. Hopefully I get the time to make one of these myself. Beautiful details!!
I put it on that side, because like you mentioned Ben, I like to control the saw with my dominant hand (right), making it easy for me to see the cut, and hold the piece in place with my left hand, providing the maximum for cutting a long board. Thanks for noticing by brother! All the best to you
Immediate subscription! Good job on the thumbnail too. If it hadn’t been for that I probably wouldn’t have clicked, and would have missed out big time.
Hey Trev! I appreciate you commenting on the thumbnail. Even more so that you clicked on it! I though why not take a chance and try something I've not tried yet and... here we are chatting away now. Thanks so much for stopping in and for your support! Cheers Paul
Amazing video, storytelling, cinematography and music. Always watch all videos at 2x, but had to do 1x for the music. Btw, using headphones and that sound when going down the ladder at 2:43 freaked me out, sounded like in my room, some unintended binaural effect.
Thank for stopping in and for viewing at 1X! Thats so awesome to hear and the ladder... It stopped me when I was editing! Just sounded different to me too lol and pretty cool you commented on it! Thanks again and all the best to you
Apart from making me insanely envious, as to the skill shown both in design and display of craftmanship and of workshop and all its contents tool wise and space. I was immensely entertained. We lesser mortals can but look on in admiration, and continue to dream. Take care and be happy brother. Greetings from the UK.
Hello Norman from the UK :) A BIG Thank you for your kind comment and I'm thrilled you were entertained by my video. Thanks for the inspiration to keep dreaming all the way from Vancouver Canada :)
this is amazing for so many reasons; the craftsmanship, the engineering and the quality description - not to mention the amazing video work!! you need more subs!!
Hey Brian I greatly appreciate the vote of confidence and thanks so much for your kind comments. Looking forward to growing my channel and sharing more with you :) All the best mate!
Hey Jimsy! Yes sir, I feel lucky to have learned from one of the best, we just spent the weekend building some simple shelves together, it was so awesome and thanks for appreciating him ❤
That was amazingly well edited, filmed and all around created. The build itself is so cool and like I said the video itself was a work of art IMO. I don't see how you only have 11k subscribers. Ill add one more now :)
Hey ShortysCreativeCorner I like your name! Thank you so much for your encouragement! It means a lot to me and I really appreciate your sub :) All the best to you and I'm looking forward to creating more for you, Cheers Paul
I made a bench similar to this based on someone else's plans, and lemme tell ya, it's nowhere NEAR as amazing as yours. Wow. I'm blown away. Now I have to rip mine all up and start over, because this is definitely next level!! Congrats!
Hey Markus, Hope you enjoyed the process of building your own workbench mate! and good on ya for tackling such a task 👍 and thanks you so much for your kind compliment. If you were really going to build another one, or have any questions, always happy to chat vanislandstudio@gmail.com All the best to you Markus, Paul
Hey there, I recently purchased a router lift to install opposite the miter saw, just have to get time to put it in now, Great suggestion and thanks for stopping in!
This is by FAR my favorite workbench build video. Great content. Both useful and entertaining. I can tell you put your soul into this. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Kevin it took a wee bit of time on my end lol, and I'm thankful you enjoyed my build video! and it's my pleasure sharing it with you. Wishing you all the best!
Ha! I wish I knew were I could find a replacement too Jaime, it came with Anna when we got married, I think her grandma sent it over from Japan when she was a wee tot! All the best to you!
"Its all in the details" is what my father said growing up. Not sure I'm a craftsman yet, but learning more every day, and thanks so much for the encouragement Scott! Its appreciated 👍
An amazing build and superior craftsmanship and artistry, not just in the project but the video editing too. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects!
Hey Brandon! Nice to hear from you, I actually did make a planer sled out of plywood, but I found that the plywood had a slight warp in it over time and use, so... I don't know, maybe I'll eventually purchase a jointer, but not any time soon. Thanks for stopping in and saying hi bud! Cheers!
this is phenomenal. the video is super engaging. because your shop isnt loaded with tons of grizzly tools, i learned so many little tricks on milling from you. excellent and well worth a sub, like and comment. thank you.
Thanks so much for your kind comment and I'm really glad you picked up a few tricks along the way mate! Thanks for the support and looking forward to sharing more with you.
I don’t see a link to the pencil sharpener in your links! I so need one of those in my shop! Nice job on the bench and the video. I can appreciate the level of time that went into both. Thanks for the smiles.
Hi VanIsle Studio, Out of curiosity, have you made any progress on this build ? I can't wait to see more of it, it is outstanding and I do hope you incorporate more tools into it to make it the ultimate workbench. A thickness planer that would use the entire workbench as an infeed and outfeed would be great, and also, a jointer that would do the same, with possibly a removable "top" to make up for the difference in thickness (workbench's top would be the jointer's outfeed height). Would also LOVE to see them being built in a mechanism that allows for easy lift/lower of the tools (idea: scissor lift-like mechanism)
Hi There, I've been inundated with house chores lately...doors, windows, roof..etc but.. I did purchase a router lift, only to realize Its the wrong size for my router Ha! I love your ideas, thickness planer, jointer, scissor lift! Sheesh you've given me a lot to think about! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas with me! Now I've got to get to working on it! Cheers
I watched a lot of videos about this but none of the other guys has so much attention to the possibility to adjusting everything. Apart of this I really like your way of making videos. Great stuf!
7:36 hate to be one of those RUclips commenters that give ideas on subjects with limited hands on experience, but without a riving knife, this cut makes me nervous. Your hands are between the fence and the saw so any kick back will rotate them into the saw as you finish the cut. A lot of people that joint on their table saw build a simple jointing sled which allows them to clamp the wood down and keep their hands away from the blade. Might be a good next project. Awesome video by the way
Hey Bruce thanks so much for your comment and looking out for my safety! I'll keep your thoughts in mind for the next time I need to do a cut like that, I like your jointing sled idea! Thanks for stopping in and leaving me your comment!
I basically made my table the same with table saw, mitre saw, and even a spot for my bench top band saw. Seeing the flipping mitre saw makes me want to redo mine. Looks way better than taking it off, setting it on the bottom shelf and screwing a piece of plywood down to fill the hole. Very nice 🤘🏼
Way to go for making your own workbench! and with a spot for your bench top band saw!! That's pretty smart thinking on your part! I'm sure your bench functions and looks pretty awesome too! Cheers and thanks for stopping in :)
Fantastic bench, well done. Your production quality and weirdness is a pleasure to watch. Us woodworkers are truly obsessed with accuracy but you take it to a whole new scary level. 😺
Thanks awesome you enjoyed it and thanks for that Tom! I think I got that way from watching my dad build some guitars when I was a kid :) Cheers Mate and thanks for stopping in!
Ha! Glad you enjoyed the production and woodworking, I'm not sure, but definitely projects involving wood I'd say, I really have no idea what I'm doing with the editing or camera, just having some fun learning and hope to start on a new project soon after a summer of roof and windows and builds elsewhere. Cheers and thanks agian!
Feel like an addict, can't stop watching, someone call 911, holy 5h*t this is top notch in every way, great job, simply amazing, you are truly talented! You have my subscription and thumbs up!
Hi there Wow are you sure it was my video that you watched? There's a lot of talent out there, so... Thanks so much for the encouragement to keep at it! I really appreciate your comment! All the best to you and I'm looking forward to learning more / sharing more with you. Cheers, Paul
Not everyone shares you thoughts on the music lol , so thanks for letting me know Stephen, that you enjoyed the songs and the edits 😄 Wishing you all the best
Your workmanship it's on different level.. anyways great job.. I wish I had the plans to build this I'm really good at building things and I always wanted to build a work table like this..
Hi Frank, thank you and I hope you get the chance to make one of your own. It would be awesome to see what you come up with! If you are interested in the plan you can find them here: vanislestudiostore.etsy.com All the best to you mate! Paul
I second that one comment, who the hell are you and why haven’t I seen you before? Your content is really good! And good for you for not gluing your first bench
You noticed that I did not use glue Tim, not to many comment on that. I guess its from watching my dad. He always told me you never know if or when you will need to toke something apart. All the best to you mate and thanks for stopping in!
Good grief man, this is inspiring! Your dad raised quite a creative son! Amazing work. Can I ask what camera you're shooting with? I'm guessing something over 4K based on the quality of your pan & scan shots. Maybe a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K?
Hi Troy, I think that is awesome and humbling that you found my video inspiring. Thank you so much for that! It means a lot for me to read your comment, and I love spending all the time I can with my folks. I use Go Pro , Sony A7III with Sigma F1.4 35mm lens, and all those smooth shots came from my new iPhone. If I move quickly with the phone, it appears smoother when slowed down in Final Cut. But when you slow down a clip, you miss frames, so, final cut has a feature called "Optical flow" that fills in those missing frames. That's what makes the clip appear so smooth. All the best Troy!
Everyone loves to brag about how great the parents, family, and friends are. And here I sit, alone, and forgotten by literally everyone....on my 40th birthday.
I just made one of these last week took me a week or so to build.. has my miter, table saw and planer all built into it. Very identical build. Mine looks like I bought it from Walmart compared to this.. Amazing detail and perfection. When IM mid project and get flustered I need to keep your skill in mind! Awesome.
Way to go for making your own workbench! and with a built in planer to boot. I think that is a fantastic and creative Idea! I get flustered all the time, you are not alone on that my friend. All the best to you!
Thanks Laura! The power cord for the miter saw goes through the rotating shelf at the back. There is a space for the power cord and the suction hose to pass through. Thanks for your question :) Cheers
Who'd have thought that a workbench video would make me cry at the end. Loved the comments about your mom and dad! ❤ And what an amazing bench you've created!
Hi Jandreoni, reading your comment is very dear to me, thank you for recognizing my mom and dad. It's pretty special! All the best to you my friend, Paul
A wonderful example of something I will never achieve. Your video production skills are up there with your woodworking abilities. If only I had a workbench and a dad and wife willing to help.
Hey my friend, glad to hear you enjoyed the production, I'm a late bloomer by the way, didn't know what the heck I was doing for most of my life and just starting to pull it together past 7 or so years. Wishing you all the best, Paul
So well thought out and beautifully executed. The way you film is on point too. I think I can get great gains from watching your work so worthy of a subscription
Hey Bradley thank you for the subscription 😊 and I'm happy to hear you gained a few nuts of knowledge from my video. So awesome and looking forward to sharing more with you 👍 Cheers
who the hell are you!? this is silly good

He said his name is Paul.
Overall an awesome video - camera shots, audio, lighting, editing, visual effects, instructions - all top notch.
Hi Rob I'm glad you enjoyed the video mate! and thank you for your encouraging comment. All the best to you!
So you’re a cinematographer and craftsmen. Got it, well you’ll have 1m subs soon. This video is amazing!
Ha, not sure about either or those, as there are far better out there than me, but I really appreciate your comment and your encouraging words, thank you so much for that!
@@vanislestudio There will always be someone better, but I have not seen them yet. This video is a masterpiece. Nice work. 🤖
This is an “I was here” comment for posterity, when this guy had less than 9,000 subscribers. I’m guessing that number is about to rise exponentially.
Thank you for your encouraging words my friend, that made me smile and means a lot to me. All the Best!
Absolutely brilliant design, craftsmanship and video editing skills. It’s criminal you don’t have a million subs. Well done sir!
I appreciate your vote of confidence on the billion subs my friend so thanks a lot for that sunshine you gave me. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Cheers Paul

Hey Thank you so much Joe!
Sometimes the RUclips algorithm gets it spot on! I’m impressed…with your work.
I'm absolutely grateful that the "algorithm" found you David! All the best to you!
That leveling is exquisite. The flex of that level slide across the miter saw was perfect.
Ha! that was enjoyable for me to video, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it too 👍 All the best to you!
Can we talk about the production quality of this video?!?! The storytelling?!?!?! The elements?!?!?! Fantastic!!!!! ❤❤❤
You are too kind good sir! and thanks so much for the smile on me face just now 😁 Cheers
I hope you keep making more videos they are very entertaining, with good designs, and your stop motion is something unique from normal woodworking videos. It’s a nice change.

Hey Rod! You watched this even though you have no need for it? This really sticks in my head and I'm pretty grateful for this bud! Thank you so much! Cheers Paul
The editing on this was really good. We need more of creative and engaging videos like this one, not more boring woodworking builds.
Hi There, thanks so much for the encouragement! Ill try to keep learning to keep things interesting. All the best to you and thanks again!

Hi Joseph, I really appreciate your comment, thank you so much for that!

Thank you Tom! I still make lots of mistakes, but enjoy the process of learning new things and sharing them with you! Thanks for stopping in :)
“Before the cut…”. Gonna be hearing that in my dreams tonight 😂
That was a fun part to do and glad you enjoyed it William! Thanks so much for stopping in!
All the best to you
This edit is amazing. Awesome work.
Hey Kosh, Thank you and it means a lot that you think so! Cool videos you have BTW! Love your camera work, lighting and music! All the best!
Cheers Paul
Well this is my new favorite channel
Ha! Super thrilled you enjoyed my video mate, Thanks so much 👍
I must say, impressive work. The video, the woodwork, the music... really great stuff and high quality. And thank you very much, loved it.
Hey Andrew it's my pleasure and thank you so much! Looking forward to sharing more in the future with you, Cheers!
The video production on this is above the rest. The storytelling, the music, lighting, editing. Amazing. Keep it up.
I'm glad you enjoyed my video Fredrik! and thanks so much for the encouragement to keep at it, All the best to you!
My new favorite video, I'll make this. Just bought the blue print plan
That's so great to hear! I hope you enjoy the build! and please let me know if you have any questions as you go 👍Best wishes to you mate
WOW.....your Dad sure taught some great skills. He is still with you . Terrific job.
That was amazing. A great job. I wonder if it is possible to now put a router table on the opposite side.
Hey there, I recently purchased a router lift to install opposite the miter saw, just have to get time to put it in now, Great suggestion and thanks for stopping in!
This one of the most impressive videos I have ever seen. The precision of the woodworking, video quality, etc. The level of detail is impressive.
Nice to hear you enjoyed the little details mate! Thanks so much, All the best to you 👍
You had me subbed at the tone knob.
Ahhh that tone knob gets me too mate! Thanks so much for your support and for stopping in to watch my video 👍 All the best to you :)
Me too!
This video has better production and storytelling than some movies I’ve seen recently. Absolutely amazing work man!
Hey Derek I really appreciate your feedback. It's comments like yours that help to keep at it, all the best to you!
Sick video man. You just earned a new sub. Keep it up!
So awesome you thought so my friend! Thank you so much, and thanks for the encouragement to keep at it! All the best to you!
I really appreciate the list of tools, but you missed one. Where can I get the cool pencil sharpener?
Ha! I wish I knew were I could find a replacement too Jaime, it came with Anna when we got married, I think her grandma sent it over from Japan when she was a wee tot! All the best to you!
Ah that wood you are using! We had lumber like that in Oregon once....... I like the bench, I may give it a try when I get a place to put it!
Hey my neighbour to the south Ken :) Oregon is so beautiful! Glad you enjoyed the bench mate and all the best to you!
What a great job and now I am subscribed!!!
Hey Mark thanks so much mate! Glad you stopping in and thank you for your sub ❤️
Great Job! It's nice to see a real craftsman that pays attention to detail. It does matter.
"Its all in the details" is what my father said growing up. Not sure I'm a craftsman yet, but learning more every day, and thanks so much for the encouragement Scott! Its appreciated 👍
Amazing work, epic editing, skills you’ve got there mate.
Hi Patrick from New Zealand! Thank you so much for that! I greatly appreciate you stopping in! Cheers from a sunny Vancouver morning
An amazing build and superior craftsmanship and artistry, not just in the project but the video editing too. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects!
Hi there Tim its nice to hear you enjoyed my video :) Thanks for the encouragement mate! and for your kind comment. All the best to you 👍
great video! curious why not make a planer sled to face joint?
Nice to hear my video brought some smile your way mate! That's just amazing for me to hear. Thanks so much for your comment and all the best to you!
Just have to say how well done your video is!
I'm thrilled you enjoyed it Ed! All the best to you!
Hi VanIsle Studio,
Out of curiosity, have you made any progress on this build ?
Great stuf!
Glad you enjoyed the video mate! All the best to you
You should make yourself a planer sled. This would allow you to use the planer as a jointer.
Hey thanks for the suggestion! Now I just need the time to build one for the shop :) I could use it! Thanks so much for stopping in! Cheers
The cinemtogroahy si anazing
Your level of precision is what i only dream of
Glad you enjoy the cinematogoraphy as I try and learn what the heck to do lol, Thanks so much for stopping in!
I don't need a workbench, and I don't need to flip a mitersaw either...but your work is amazing so I watched anyway.
Hey Rich that is just awesome to read. Thank so much for that and I really appreciate that you stopped in to check it out. All the best to you!
Before the Cut and Rotating shelf had me tranced out and I didn't even toke up before this. amazing.
Ha, thanks for that! I enjoyed your comment 👍 Cheers "Bud" 😉
Also wondering if this is going to be woodworking channel or a video production channel. You have mad skills at both.
Great editing and music choices
i have to agree
Kudos for the editing, I like the „custom“ music and cues (the hammer is bonkers!)
I'm thrilled you enjoyed the editing mate :) Thanks so much for stopping in!
Absolutely incredible, design, function, craftsmanship, editing & the list goes on!
Hey Tyler thanks for your thoughts and nice to hear you enjoyed the build! All the best to you 👍
Everyone loves to brag about how great the parents, family, and friends are. And here I sit, alone, and forgotten by literally everyone....on my 40th birthday.
🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂
cool story
Hey SuperMe63! Happy 40th Birthday to you! and thanks for stopping in on your birthday! Wishing you a great year ahead and all the best to you!
Awesome!
Question- power cords?
Thanks Laura! The power cord for the miter saw goes through the rotating shelf at the back. There is a space for the power cord and the suction hose to pass through. Thanks for your question :) Cheers
I’m still 40% away from finishing my work bench and you gave me good ideas. Thanks ❤️
Way to go for tackling you're own workbench! I hope it brings you great satisfaction! Thank you so much ! Cheers
With all those playing cards taped in place, is the table called, Full Deck?
Hahaha I think it's now the new name for my workbench! Full Deck :) Thanks for stopping in!
Wishing you all the best, Paul
is AI taking over WoodTube???
So well thought out and beautifully executed. The way you film is on point too. I think I can get great gains from watching your work so worthy of a subscription
Hey Bradley thank you for the subscription 😊 and I'm happy to hear you gained a few nuts of knowledge from my video. So awesome and looking forward to sharing more with you 👍 Cheers
The editing has no right to go this hard given the subject matter.
Hi Luke, ya, it's over the top. My step dad thought it might rub some folks the wrong way too. Regardless, I appreciate your comment.
@@vanislestudio Oh I love it! I meant it as a compliment. It's just amazing that a woodworking video would be this creative.
