That's crazy expensive for a workshop work surface that's going to get beat to snot.
I found another site selling phenolic tops called SSI Surfaces that sells a 30" x 48" black top for $235 with free shipping. They have variable lengths for different prices.
It's a little less per square foot than the Formica price and you don't have to commit to such a huge panel if you just need to cover one or two worktops. I would imagine getting a distributor or retailer to customer cut and sell the formica stuff would at least double the square foot cost.

find a magnet that matches your domino size just right and insert it as if it was half a domino on each end, keep in mind the magnet's polarity orientation.

I have watched this whole series so far, and despite being presented as tips or ideas for setting up any “small shop,” I can’t help but think with every video that this series isn’t for most people who are just getting started in woodworking and are setting up their own small space. It has consistently come off as a series for a small group of people who have the capacity to sacrifice their entire two car garage (a space that is a luxury in itself) and build out a fully loaded, but compact, version of a nearly professional shop. The hand tools and clamps are into the thousands of dollars. The dust collection system is thousands of dollars. Each of the power tools, from small to large, are thousands of dollars. The material cost in this build is several hundred dollars. Everything in this “small” shop is some of the most expensive equipment a “hobbyist” can buy. This space and the items in it are far beyond the reach of someone just starting out in a “small” space. I don’t understand who this series is meant for except those with an unlimited budget and an empty two car garage.

!00% agree. That table cost $2000, there is nothing the average hobbyist can afford. It's always the same...youtuber gets successful and everything comes TOP of the LINE. Who can spend $40-60,000 outfitting their shop like his? Yes he's fun to watch but it's beyond the average guy's reach

Wait can you buy the Formica compact directly from their site? When I chose a color and click buy now it brings me to their standard laminate page.

it would have been interesting to make the tops hinged, so you could lift them up and if you put in a bottom, you could use the empty space above the top drawers for "long" storage

Nice work Jason. Good presentation and narration as always. Good use of drawer storage orientation too. The Formica Compact some type of MDF with Phenolic faces or HPL? Formica's tech sheets are not very informative. Asking for someone who needs to know (me). lol

You had me completely sold on that phenolic material for the top and I followed your link to get the 10% off but that is informational only, no sales ability. Can't find it at the big box stores either. BTW, this is in the Atlanta area. Any tips about how to order this?

If those tracks ever get misaligned you could look into those door latches that have a security pin. They sit flush when open, but when closed the pin shoots out and it gives it a few millimeters of wiggle room, so that means your latches only have to hold the table together and not worry about alignment

I was unable to locate any pricing on the Formica Compact . Does anyone have a link to a place I might look into pricing this product to see if it is financially viable . Thank you .

I don't have a link, but I did see a site with 4x8 sheet for $587, with a minimum 8 sheet order. So you have a choice, invest in gold or Formica Compact.

@@FranktheDachshund oh my this product is not for the average shop build..
thank you for the information on the material pricing.. its too bad its price prohibitive it looks like a great solution.
