I just realized that you have become my adult version of Saturday morning cartoons. Thanks for all the great, entertaining content!
Hahahaha
This is the greatest adult realization ever.
I know. It just downed on me as well. 😂
Oh my God. He really has. Like a practical Wilie Coyote
I agree with this post.
Now that you're cabinets really look so good you need to get rid of those stand-up metal lockers next to them and make matching standup lockers to compliment them.
Very nice hidden dig at the Magnolia Network!
Doesn't your wife want a coffee bar with a drink refrigerator built into it? I would love to see what you would design for that because my wife wants one.
This video really highlighted the amount of effort it takes to build furniture properly by taking great care to dry fit everything many times over! Great work, as always!
I think my favorite feature was your design for the Door Pulls. They are clever and match the theme perfectly. Thanks for letting us watch. It almost makes me think I could tackle that project.... naahh.... I'll watch and drink coffee. It increases my survival probability.
The Magnolia Network crack made me chuckle out loud.
I really like the design on the bench. Now, you should absolutely replace the lockers with a design matching the bench. Love your channel.
This is what I was thinking
And then build new gym equipment to match the lockers.
@@vjosullivanThen build a new house to match the gym equipment.
I kind of like the old-school metal lockers.
All of your videos are so much fun! And my wife got me a Cameo from you for Valentine's day... you are top notch, sir! :)
Love the way you make something sound so hard but when you look at the way you do it you make it look so simple. This Sir is a beautiful piece of "gym" furniture, please keep up the great work. Im glad to see im not the only 'sad' person who looks forward to Bourbon Moth time on Saturday 😊
what impresses me most isn't your talent at building furniture but the materials you always seem to get to make the perfect furniture. You never complain about warps or bows or crappy wood. Starting with perfection helps to create perfection. How many people have a giant piece of perfect quartersawn white oak just sitting around their workshop for years.
He joints and planes his hardwoods, that gets them pretty perfect. He isn’t working with slabs. He also gets his sheet goods from a cabinet supplier, which immediately makes it better than box store wood, and ironically it isn’t much more expensive. He gets his hardwood from a supplier, kiln dried and rough. He can pick the pile for what he wants, and again, it isn’t a consumer location so their products are usually priced well with better choice. Interestingly, most of these sorts of places will let anyone start a cash account if you are willing to drive a little further.
Yeah lol, and the part where he planed that gorgeous wood down to 1/4-inch thickness... that put me over the edge. Funny guy
@@DaddyBooneDon i did 😬 when I saw that. I’ve done it on smaller bits, but I also have a giant resew bandsaw and would split it. Honestly though, in that situation I would have planed it to 3/4” or whatever the inside of the cabinet allowed and rebated the edge of the board. Thicker is often gooder. Lol.
He has a ton of impressive wood, for sure, but I still think the best part about Jason’s videos are his talent, personality, design chops, and willingness to share some amazing protips with the rest of us.
@@RyanWattersRyanWattersMaybe he just wants to know how to find good wood. Better ingredients make for better food, and such.
That choice of wood and style is spot on. Truly gifted pro.
Beautiful precision made bench.
Aaahahahahaa😂😂😂 makenit look gymeeee, yeah that's Mrs speak for "if it doesn't look good I'll heckle ya," but don't ask for help because "I already gave you help, I said Gymeee"😂 gotta❤it
Quarter sawn white oak has such a nice look to it. I think the reason 80's era oak furniture looks so dated is because they used flat sawn more often than not and it's usually red oak too. The grain on flat sawn just isn't too nice looking (I have an old tv console like I'm describing). Cool build!
Turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you have enough white oak "laying" around the shop to make the matching vertical locker. Great build as always.....
guy has 100 bdft of the nicest oak ive ever seen just lying around
I really enjoyed this locker build project!
Well done!
For me, this is the most beautiful and aesthetic piece of furniture you have shown on YT so far! just wow!
The Rounded Rabbit would be a cool name for a Blues/Rock bar!
I had to laugh when you talked about assembling and disassembling the furniture. I design and built a liquid cart out of Cherry for my daughters new apartment (upon request). I did dry fits and checks at least 20x. I was amazed that with the use of mortise and tenons and careful planning, the piece went together very well (everything was at 90deg and seamless) and was extremely satisfying to build. All the slats floated in their snug little grooves and were pre-stained and blue taped with care. I also asked one neighbor to help turn down the cylindrical handle because he had a lather and a second neighbor to cut the mortises because he had a mortiser. This lead to me helping them because I had the large band saw or Engineering/Design ability. It was great fun. I have lived next to these guys for over 25 years and we found a new connection which was so cool.
I actually think this seat is one of your better builds. The simple design is of course not simple but your story telling enabled a clear understanding of your thought process and construction. Well done.
Pulls were brilliant Jason.
Dude, full-eye-contact not-at-all-awkward hip thrusts. Legend.
I don't have a gym. I also don't have space for a bench. But I need this bench! So beautiful.
❤ my husband and I are so excited and amazed at your beautiful work and how you show it! Love seeing the boss ! Aka your amazing son! Keep up the wonderful information! ☕️🤗🩵❤️Those who have nothing better to do with their lives get a life!
I can't watch this at the moment so I saved it in the Watch later and came here to put a comment and a like.
You're wild man! Great Work
Looks good for the space.
The metal standing locker needs to match now! :)
Your craftsmanship is superb.
“Jimmy” definitely approved of this build.
You should make a frame for the tv!! If I'm not wrong that's a Samsung Frame TV? Would be a cool project to see what you come up with instead of the frames samsung sells.
Your Uncle Dan
is a smart man.
Very nice!
Decided to put feet on the bottom? With a shop space that wasn’t originally made to be a shop I’ve come to appreciate adjustable feet on rarely moving shop cabinets are a must.
Absolutely love this, one of my favourite builds of yours 👍🏾 ps. I'm in agreement with the other guy who said you should make matching lockers 😉
It’s a good thing your wife has so many projects for you, more content. Nicer house too.
Great work. Jimmy would be impressed.
This turned out beautiful! Very old school “gym” or “Jim” like lol! Love the integrated handles that I feel like I’ve seen on the old wooden furniture you find in a school locker room or storage rm.
The carriage bolt segment got me 😂
I was mid sentence saying it actually would look pretty slick woth the bolts when you said not to call you crazy 😂
Oddest reason to watch, I'm actually here for the sponsored ad. Looking to start my own site
Absolutely nailed the design/character of the piece. Very cool. I almost wish I had a home gym or even worked out just so I could build one.
Door pulls, a contrasting wood color on the inserts.
“Notch, notch here. Notch, notch there.” Hahaha
Love your channel!
Kreg may have pocket hole jigs and other nifty plastic do thingys. BUT!!!! Jason has a combination Craig automatic sander and finisher. Take that 720pro!!!!!!! Hahaha
Favorite piece. Great concept.
Man, I love your commentary! Another great video.
It’s a very nice piece of furniture for a gym. I love the look of it, and I love your videos, watching a perfectionist at work.
Miss when you made customermade stuff. Like the highend stuff you made 🙂
The attention to the little details sells the look. Those human clamps yikes they just don’t hold up well but they’re always available. Gotta love Craig a professional sander/ finisher of all things bourbon moth.
Excellent attention to detail. Great work.
The furniture builds are just the absolute best.
That came out so nice, and it will get better with age. You're leaving your son great heirlooms. I love oak!
It’s such a beautiful piece of furniture. I want exactly this in my hallway instead of a pile of shoes.
What an awesome build! 😀
The stainless steel bolts on top was a great idea. Fits the theme very well.
Nice looking box.
Very nice project 👍 - i may would replace that metal locker with also a wooden gymmy looking one and have a follow up project 😁
Looks great. At first I thought this is going to be a long boring video but it was great and I learned a few things. Love the commentary.😊😊😊
Great piece of jimmy furniture. I love the way it turned out. I thought about making one for myself, but I don't have a fake workout room to put it in. Love it!
I approve!
It is perfect...
I have come to love your intro music, is it original ? I is unique enough to make me think only of your channel when hearing it
This actually comes at a very convenient time for me. I'm building a new entertainment center for my wife and it's actually going to be basically very similar to this and I've been wrestling in my brain about the order of operations and how to build the frame. This answers many questions! 😁👍
That bench is beautiful
Spaceballs.... Ludicrous speed...
Great build Jason!
I really, really liked that build !! Simple but elegant !! I'd love to hang around your back pocket and learn the patience you have to take it slow and precise in every operation !! Great video and looking forward to more content. Well done brother !!
kristin says BUILD ME SOME - THESE KICK ASSSSSS!!!!!
Chuffing Awesome 👏
Very nice, Dude ! Keep them coming !!
Wow, it looks just great!
This is exactly what I needed! Came up with a very similar build idea for an entertainment unit and having actual guidance on order of operations and important considerations is going to make it so much easier. Thank you!
Great video as always! Also, looking jacked mate 💪🏼👊🏼
Nice work! A unique one-of-a-kind design. High quality too!!
This is so cool. Good choice on the carriage bolts.
By far the best gym furniture build of the year!!!!!
Had to log on to phone to comment .... loved this build.. more for how you explained it in your funny style 😅
I love your videos, you are well skilled, entertaining and we live about twenty five miles apart. Stylistically we are very much alike.
That turned out super nice!
Great-looking work! Those stainless steel feet will also help the chamfers on the bottoms of the legs in avoiding chip-out when scooting it across the floor. :)
I really loved this one, it be a great piece for a entrance hall for my wife and daughter getting ready go out store shoes and stuff Oh and mine, love it. thank you
Craig should get the Employee of the Year award!😂🎉
That looks awesome.
Wow Jason, I really love that piece! All the little touches; making all the doors out of the one board for continuous grain, basically using all solid wood, the holes in the doors and even the carriage bolts, really make it such a sweet addition to your "gym" er...TV, snack, beer drinking, drooling room! 😂
I especially love the simple pull handles you made for the doors. They impressed me so much I'm considering putting ones just like them on my kitchen drawers and cabinets. We're building our retirement home and it's a farm homestead (here in the Willamette Valley no less!), so something clean yet rustic like that really appeals to me. Do you think that's a good or a bad idea for drawers and cabinets in a kitchen that will get daily use like that, and why? Many thanks!
you nailed it 🥰
Thisis a very cool build and the white oak makes it even better (and very expensive). I have the smaller domino joiner and will say that your ability to accurately place a domino in the absolute dead center of your posts is amazing. You seem to be able to do it "free hand", that is without benefit of a jig. When I did that task I built a temporary jig to hold the posts absolutely square in two planes, up and down and side to side. I use a 20 gauge nailer to assemble the jig, driving the nail only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch into the bench top, making removal easy. This allows me to apply a lot of pressure to the joiner to insure a square mortise. Also, when the joiner is running, it wants to shake, and requires a very firm grip. It looked like you were pushing yours with your abdomen! Do not do that if you want a mortise that is square! Just my thoughts. I don't drink bourbon, but would love to sip an IPA with you one day!
Great build
I'm sure others have already said his, but now you need to make oak lockers:)!
Really love your design work on the door fronts; I was questioning the handle pull inserts until I saw the completed piece and then went "ohhhh, I like that!".
Dude, please build a SAUNA! Would love to watch that episode!🔥
Now you need to remake the locks to match such a nice piece
Awesome build, very appropriate "gymmy" look! Well done.
Wow - one of your nicest projects in recent times! Thanks for sharing your skills with us - we are not worthy :)
I think the carriage bolts were an amazing idea. Really ties it all together.
Like a good rug.
@@scottgaree7667 Clearly you’re not a golfer. Lol.
Excellent work, I wish I had a home gym that I could ask you to make one of those for me too…
Nice design! And I liked the carriage bolt idea. Really adds a distinctive gym look. Love it 😊
Looks good.
The bench turned out amazing all the little details you add in to make it look old time gymie work perfect. Great job
Nicely done ❤
Nice build.
The carriage bolts 🤌
Another very nice build Jason. I would recommend a CNC . It is a bit of a learning curve. But well worth it. 😊
Love this!
