Okay maybe instead of extending the worktop to the end of the room you can have some shelving for your cook books,or a large painting to give the dining area it’s own identity

That will likely be because the plaster on the wall is not in the best condition, so instead of getting it re-plastered (££), people will put lining paper on to make the walls a bit neater before you paint :) x

Love the kitchen plan, I wouldn't go that far with the units as it would be nice for you to have some soft seating down the bottom like a sofa or comfy chairs which I think would be lovely to have near the table- lots of alternative seating for entertaining! Also nice to look out from the garden from a comfy spot. We did our kitchen recently and my other top tip is to think about where they put the sink, oven and fridge - they are the three things you will use the most, easily - so they need to be in sensible distance from each other - lastly our lady put a concealed bin in a cupboard where I do most of my prep work - game changer - I literally open it and throw all the rubbish in and close it again - so easy! Have fun - can't wait to see the result!

Refurbed sash windows are the one! Highly recommend getting a Karcher window vacuum thing - my last flat (Glasgow tenement with like 15ft ceilings) had them done and they would get quite bad condensation in the winter so sucking it off each morning helped keep the wood in good condition and was also REALLY satisfying. Can't wait to see the future renovations x

You guys are so ON IT! We moved houses in September and still have so much to do; I feel like such a slacker! A small query: I thought you wanted the utility room to have outdoor access so it could also be a mudroom of sorts. Did that change? Because then you might think about having a designated cupboard next to one of the kitchen or "office" doors for your outdoor things.
