I’ve used both PAX and ELVARLI and honestly preferred ELVARLI. It’s so easy to switch out and add to if your needs change, easy to clean, and super easy to install.

I have the ELVARLI unit with one vertical rod per side, it's my third one so far and I love it! Because you can mix drawers (kind of like a dresser) with a rail on top for shorter items (I have on one side 3 drawers with shirts and shorter jackets hanging on the rail above), and also add other units just with a rail for longer pieces (I still have a rack on the bottom, under which i store stuff), or just racks/shelves and then because they go so high you can also have a rack above where you can store more things like boxes with out of season items, or other things you don't need access to daily. I'm big on vertical use of space and it works for me! HOWEVER I do recommend fixing it up against the ceiling with screws as recommended - I have tried to just use tension to keep it in place but it did fall on me once 😬

I used Elvarli in my room - a combo of rails and drawers. I installed some white curtains to close it up if needed. I think it looks nice.

I had the elvarli open system in my old apartment and liked it! 😊
I have the Elvarli system! Fairly easy to set up with 2 people. Trickier to dis-assemble but not impossible it's just the little plastic snaps on the shelves that can be a pain to remove/brake. Nevertheless, I love the freestanding look. Some people have used them in a room divider way which can be kind of cool. The drawer units are so nice (smooth drawer action and they open up most of the way) The shoe shelves aren't the best IMHO...I feel like you could find a better solution for that. Plus they get so dusty--more so than the other shelves on that system for some reason? Perhaps because of the bigger surface area in a fuller view? Totally agree that this system would be more practical than the Pax in this case.
