I love the new window-corner and your styling! Looks so chic and scandi. I am from Norway and a lot of the scandi-styled homes here tend to change the interior a bit depending on the season, typically warming up the look of the space with carpets, blankets and textiles in general during the winter time as the scandi-style is a bit cold to (and gets even colder during the winter with the cold and gloomy (and little) daylight). I think a carpet could look really nice :-)

The house is never finished! There is always something that needs work. Either because it needs repairs, or because you want to update/upgrade it. Keeps you busy!

As well as tailors chalk, I 100% recommend an iron away pen. Every sewing project I end up using it to mark various things for more accuracy.

I love that you have all the sewing stuff. I have the clips in multiple sizes for holding together multiple or thick layers, I use washers or random items from around the house to hold things down. I have multiple pairs of scissors, peaking shears, rotary cutters, pattern shears, appliqué scissors. It so exciting to be self sufficient. Yes I can fix that hole, yes I can hem those trousers, yes I can make myself a dress. ❤❤❤

Love the sewing updates! Totally agree pattern cutting is so boring, I was using a rotary cutter for quite a while but recently bought electric scissors, they're noisy but they're super quick! I don't find any method (scissors, rotary cutter or electric scissors) to be more accurate than another, but plain scissors are my least favourite. Also the clips are the best! I rarely use pins unless I'm pinning up something not on the edge of the fabric, i.e. taking up a large hem, but obviously you do still need them around. I think the chalk your teacher was talking about is a Chaco pen - they're great! Another thing I really recommend that I find super helpful is a magnetic seam guide to help you get your seam allowance more accurate when sewing.

I think the window corner would be perfect with a rug and a bistro style table but one that has variable height so could be a lower coffee table depending on how you use the area!

As a sewer I love my fabric clips just as much as my pins sometimes more. I do recommend having both. They come in handy and are sometimes easier than pins. I also use washers as weights for pattern cutting! You need a wrist magnet pin holder too! So handy!

I love the clips, they are amazing, but I always use a combo of both pins and clips. Your kit is amazing! Better than chalk is an water soluble sewing pen they are amazing

I’m a sewist and you can’t get rid of anything you already have, you need it all! You definitely need chalk, you can get chalk pens which are fab. Brand is clover. I think you’d really like Guthrie Ghani as a fabric shop and papercut patterns seem like your style. Yup - sewing is only 30% at the machine and probably 50% at the iron!

I use clips and pins. A bit of both is fine. Sometimes you can clip it all and then just precision pin corners or something.

What a nice vid, just wanted to recommend for irritated skin, dont remember if you have a bath, but the suzanne kaufmann herbal whey bath has been a gamechanger for me. Leaves me so soothed and un irritated ❤❤ (i actually make a dupe myself now as its only three ingredients apart from the essential oils, and they can be bought in bulk quite cheaply haha😅)
    But big recommend !

I'm barely 2 mins in to this video, but TOTALLY agree about it being a waste of an opportunity if you have hair that needs washing, and don't do a sweaty work out before washing it. I'm also a Peloton fan - congrats on your 70 week streak! 👊

Thefoldline is a great place to buy patterns btw. They stock independent designer's patterns which can be a better fit than the big brand patterns.
I use the clips for stretch fabrics but prefer pins for wovens.

wow! I am the same, it is always missed opportunity not doing peloton before washing my hair, but I also sometimes do it wearing jeans. It sounds awful I know but it is always an impuls, now or never.

I love the LRP body wash! Have been using it since discovering it in the hospital when my son was born. They used it for the larger babies and children there. Now I’m using it for my son’s bath, showering and face cleanser. Brilliant for each of those purposes.

The weights are the game changer for cutting out the pattern (I think every sewer hates that bit!). You’ll find that you’ll use a combination of pins and clips, I love using the clips sometimes they’re much easier than pins… other times it’s pins that are easier.

Hi Anna, that's a lovely cosy corner in your kitchen. Such a gorge view onto your garden & greenhouse.... I do agree though with a small, low coffee table in that are & a rug of sorts. What about Jute variety to keep it neutral? I think it would make it even cosier & allow you to set your coffee etc on & a few mags. Perfect reading corner😉👌

I would've gone for blinds in the kitchen rather than those curtains - much neater and wouldn't get in the way of the seating area, plus you can pull blinds down a little way when it's very sunny rather than having to close the curtains. The curtains will need to be taken down and washed when in a kitchen - and they WILL shrink!
Plantation blinds would look so good and can be tilted to keep the room cool, and you can still see the outside a bit.
