Anna, it’s not a true me-made unless you’ve had to unpick something, it happens to us all, most important thing is the perseverance with sewing and the fact it teaches you so much patience (for me personally anyhow). Great job on the dress, bias binding is hard in itself and yours looks so neat!

Great work on your dress! The main difference between good sewing and poor sewing is the willingness to unpick/seam rip and do it again. This is going to look so cute.
Sewing nerd fact: Technically, that finish is called a bias facing because it ends up inside the garment like a facing does; a bias binding finish binds around both sides of the edge, sandwiching the edge, so it's visible at the front too.
By the way, those buttons (that style is called a shank button) at a centre back closure are a nightmare for long wavy hair that tangles easily! I've had to cut a chunk of my hair to get unstuck. If you find this is problem for you, you can replace the button and loop with ties made from ribbon or bias tape/bias binding.

I haven't watched your videos for ages, but I am so over the moon that you have embarked a sewing-journey!!! Sewing has been my hobby for over 30 years and it is the best (as knitting is)! Definitely do not give up, we all have had our wonky hems and sloppy armholes, but it gets better. And your dress looks so good! I personally do not like finish the armholes with bias binding, it is very easy to stretch them that way. Using shaped armhole facing is a lot more fool-proof :) Anyway, I am here for the sewing content :D

Hi Anna, I might have a recommendation for you. I can see that your pins are set in parallel to the edge of the armhole. I find that if you place then perpendicularly to the edge, the pin can stay there longer, you might even sew over it and remove the pin after. It also helps to prevent pulling on the armhole which is on the bias and can stretch which can create small waves on the armhole. Not sure if that is very clear. Not so easy to explain over message.
Your dress looks good though, would love to see how it fits.💞
