EXTREME FRONT YARD MAKEOVER // Removing an Overgrown Landscape & Creating a Low Maintenance Garden

- I just completed a front garden renovation for under $650. Our front landscape was overgrown and smothered in weeds, invasive trees, and plants positioned in the wrong locations. I removed the entire front garden and started a new low maintenance garden design from scratch. I planted 10 incrediball hydrangeas and gave the area a thick layer of mulch. For some reason I find there is something satisfying seeing weeds being pulled out! I drive or walk by and see huge weeds going to seed and feel like pulling them all out! Great job. You have a lovely home. 😊

I love this video!!!! 😍😍 Everything looks fantastic! This video starts out and ends sooooo funny😂😂 (especially "someone bought... that someone was me" and the "cost of labor")!!! It is also very inspirational because that's the perimeter of my back yard between the huge pines and the gully by a fence, the overgrown garden that came with my house, my crazy forsythias, under the magnolia that is forever deciding to grow as much down as up after pruning, and the flower beds I started but failed no-dig cardboard and mulch 101 (I'm trying that technique again using what I observed in your yew planting video). I get excessive about many things, but in the garden mostly my 40 heirloom peonies. Someone had uploaded a 1968 Brand Nursery catalogue online and I thought it would be cool to have ALL the double varieties listed since 1968 is my birth year and I had recently decided peonies were much more interesting now I had learned the buds can keep in the refrigerator. Oh the rabbit holes we go down... Anyway, I retire soon and plan to finally tame all of those areas... but maybe not as quickly as you... 😂😂❤❤

My daughter's new house had the same thing. House and yard was over grown with vegetation - we took out 9 8' × 14' x 4' dump trailers of stuff in the yard. Daughter had landscapers come to do the front beds that were filled with ferns, pacysandra and snakes.This is perfect timing as she wants me to her plan for planting this fall or next spring - low maintanence and non spreading.
