I also love oakleaf hydrangeas and have been considering adding more. Suddenly I’m feeling permission to do so 😂. I’m pretty sure 75% of the hydrangeas in my garden were inspired by you, Danielle. Keep up the great work and bringing beauty into the world ❤
I love your boldness when it comes to making changes; you definitely have a gift when it comes to envisioning new ideas in your already-amazing-garden. Thank you so much for sharing your plans because they inspire me to dream of new spaces in my own garden. 💚
Your vision for the location of new hydrangeas bushes is going to be beautiful!
Nice vuew from the deck(hubby's garden) plus seeing the horse & buggy was a unique treat also!!❤
Great find for a hydrangea screening bush! Looking forward to seeing it grow, bloom and color up in the fall! Your husband’s rooftop garden looks fantastic and I like the idea of a sunflower screen as privacy and also a surprise for passersby!
Thank you for showing us your husbands roof top garden Danielle💚 🌻 I garden in many pots also. The hydrangeas are beautiful 🌸
I absolutely love your garden and watch all your videos.
Your blouse is lovely and so summery 😊
I love Yuliya! You and Y Garden are my top gardening channels ❤️. I can’t wait for your next weekly garden walk. I see your summer lilies have already started to bloom.
I love the cameo by Rocky! He's a shoulder cat. This video is so cleverly put together. I didn't know your spouse also gardened and what a great use of that balcony. It's a beautiful garden on its own. I love the short format focused on oak leaf hydrangeas & a few other tips for the garden. My favorites continue to be serrata hydrangeas (I have Tiny Tuff Stuff). Their open flowers just bring in the bees.
I didn’t know your husband was also into gardening. That’s awesome!
I love the addition of more oakleaf hydrangeas! Your garden is so lovely in all seasons. I love the walk through morning garden walks.
Loved this potpourri of content. (And your home looks just as beautiful as your garden.)
You are a master of the garden transition! Just love seeing it move thru spring tulips and daffodils to the hydrangeas and cut flowers…
Looks like your husband has a green thumb too! Looking good!
How gorgeous your garden is looking. You have the perfect touch .
Oakleaf hydrangeas are some of my favorites!!!
I have two 'Alice" oakleaf hydrangeas and they are beautiful. I transplanted one last spring and it has grown fast that you'd never know it was in a different space. Love your husband's rooftop garden - so productive!
Love your new hydrangeas! The rooftop garden looks great especially the sunflowers. Suggestion: Please ask your husband to wear a helmet when riding his electric bike. If he gets in an accident, he could have a catastrophic head injury.
I love, love Oak leaf hydrangeas!!! They are a true four season plant! Beautiful exfoliating bark when bare, beautiful, fragrant flowers in spring and summer, lovely foliage that turns beautiful fall colors. My favorite is Ruby Slippers oak leaf hydrangea. She stays compact and doesn’t get as huge as regular oak leafs. Right now all mine are in bloom with huge white flowers which the pollinators love and that smell FABULOUS! Didn’t know about Alice…..may have to purchase her.😀Love your hubby’s roof top garden!
Never too many plants 😂… I like the dream painting in your house!
Danielle, you’ve been inspiring me to plant more hydrangeas. This weekend, I planted 6 firelight tidbit, 5 little quick fire , an Annabelle and a soldier oak leaf!! And I’m looking to see where else I can fit more. And those are in addition to the 5 limelight, 6 pinky winky! They all have been very separate locations/groupings, but I’m inspired by how you really pack them in!!
New dining table, nice!
The Snow Queen Oak Leaf is actually fragrant! 😊
Love hydrangeas. Oak leaf are my favorite. Such a beautiful home and yard. Love the sunflowers!
I too ordered from Fast Growing Trees last month. The 3 blueberry bushes I received from them were really healthy and well packaged. They’ve not shown any stress after planting either and it was 99 degrees here today. 😳
Horse and buggy was a nice touch.
I cut and re-root when my plants get leggy too. then I put them back in the pot where in the meantime new shoots have sprouted from the old branches: I have a nice, healthy, full plant again!
Great video! Your garden is beautiful! Loved seeing the rooftop garden!
I love the look of the plants in water and pretty vases better than pots. I will definitely try this. Seems like my procut peach were definitely more peach but I will have to grow them again to verify.
Flower Garden beautiful.. 👍👍😘😘🌷💐🌹🥰🥰😁😁😊😊
Your garden looks amazing!
What a joy to see your gardens! I’m amazing at how advanced your sunflowers and hydrangeas for June.
Hi Danielle, you really read my mind because I just bought my second Oakleaf hydrangea, the Gatsby girl ( Proven Winners). My first one Gatsby Star a good three years for it to really branch out and it’s looking beautiful so far! I have to see if I can obtain the Alice one! I am also influenced by your hydrangea rooms. I find my shade garden is looking a little bit too “Mosaic” for my liking. Similarly my indoor plants are looking unwieldy so I think I will try to experiment and do cuttings in water! Thanks also for showing your husband’s rooftop garden! 🥰🌸🇨🇦
Hi Danielle thanks for sharing the information on the hydrangeas. Your garden looks beautiful with all the different varieties that you have and I can't wait to see all your oakleaf hydrangeas fill in that backdrop It's going to be beautiful. Great information on the house plants too! And thanks for the peak of the rooftop garden I enjoyed seeing that as well. Tell your hubby great job! 😍
Absolutely gorgeous,love your gardens❤
I never cared about hydrangeas. I moved house and they had a few bushes. After following you and your progress, I find myself buying more and more varieties. Ypu and your garden are a great inspiration.
Enjoying the variety of beautu!
Just planted Alice n wonderland oakleafs!
I’m trying to propagate some dahlia cuttings. Your plant cuttings look perfect in the ginger jar 💛 - Julie
Hi Danielle! Can you please show where you put all of your amaryllis now that they are done blooming?
Boarders look great
Cat cameo ❤
LOL! This was a really fun video. Love hearing your vison and looking forward to watching the new hydrangeas as they take their place in the garden.
Thanks for this interesting video, Danielle! I love the idea of rooting houseplants in a vase. I usually struggle with them, so can’t wait to try with a variety of plants. As always, your garden looks beautiful! 🌸
Your garden is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Just beautiful
Yay Yulia !!! Can never have to many hydrangeas 😍😍😍
I so enjoy your Saturday videos! I'm so glad you are continuing to do them. May I ask what the soft pink hydrangea behind you at the end of the video is called?
Loved this video! I've ordered from this company before too, and it has always been a great experience. Your garden is just beyond. And why not add more? I say you go girl.
Everything looks so beautiful, Danielle! You guys have done an amazing job with your property. It was fun seeing a bit more of your neighborhood, too! Did you get a new dining room table and move the other one to your porch? I love the clop-clop sounds. Thanks, as always, for sharing 💚
Hydrangea is the best perennial and your garden is absolutely beautiful
Good morning to you Danielle! You came to Michigan that's great! Lol. We actually ordered a Don Egolf Redbud tree & a Wisteria tree form from them so far the only showy one we had so far is the Don Egolf. So excited to see it bloom even more next spring. We also have planted a hedge of 'Twist & Shout' Endless Summer hydrangeas. First year for them but it is producing small tiny blooms this year!
Oakleaf hydrangea so gorgeous. I have a baby Gatsby Moon
Thanks so much for the info on hydrangeas, I have been hesitant to plant because either the spot is too sunny or too shady, but it looks like some varieties like more sun!
Everything is getting soo lush! I’m in PA & dreading the oncoming heat 🥵 - Appreciate if you have any tips, things you watch for to keep the garden safe in sudden, extreme heat.
Lovelovelove your gardens
Hi Danielle I have always enjoy your video Thank you
Love this
Rocky 😻 and oakleaf is my favorite, by far. The blooms are huge and the fall color is unparalleled. Such interesting foliage too. Wish I could grow them, but I’ll just enjoy yours 😊 unless you think I could grow them in a huge pot year round…? (Zone 6)
Also, about the corn plant, the stalk that’s left will eventually sprout new growth as well. We’ve had one in the family for 20+ years and just cut it back any time it gets too big or doesn’t look good.
Thank you for the very informative video
Please try a Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Snowflake’ . Most gorgeous hydrangea in my garden.
I don't remember what part of the country you are located. We're in NE GA . I think they changed our zone to 8. Thanks for the videos.
Beautiful garden. Where can you buy the deck planters that your husband used?
I was going to send you a photo of my Alice hydrangeas I’ve had for 10 years. Couldn’t find an email for you though.
🥰
Quick question on the propagation in water.... how often do you change out the water?
Do you condition oak leaf hydrangea fall foliage before arranging with it? If yes, how do you go about it?
I have 2 oak leaf hydrangeas and 22 other assorted hydrangeas. I don’t cut them for bouquets . Do you ?
In your old videos, you showed how to harvest and wire strawflowers. So I sowed some strawflowers and they are starting to bloom, but they are infested with ants What do you recommend to get rid of those pesky ants?
hello from zone 7, what kind of grass do you have?
Where do you buy the large pots? I’m looking for approximately 2 gallon pots that are a nursery type. Nothing fancy…just to grow a few thing at my flower farm, cut flowers (bulk price desired)
👋👋 questions... sun or shade new hydrangea? thank you 😊❤
From Proven Winners: OAKLEAF HYDRANGEA FAQ’s
How much sun does an oakleaf hydrangea need?
Oakleaf hydrangea does best with direct morning sun and some afternoon shade, particularly in hotter climates. Too much sun can result in foliage burn.
Will oakleaf hydrangea grow in shade?
Plants can survive in shade, but do best with at least half-day sun. Too much shade can result in leggy growth, fewer blooms, poor fall color, and an increased risk for diseases such as powdery mildew.
How gorgeous your garden is looking. You have the perfect touch .
