    I also love oakleaf hydrangeas and have been considering adding more. Suddenly I’m feeling permission to do so 😂. I’m pretty sure 75% of the hydrangeas in my garden were inspired by you, Danielle. Keep up the great work and bringing beauty into the world ❤

    I love the cameo by Rocky! He's a shoulder cat. This video is so cleverly put together. I didn't know your spouse also gardened and what a great use of that balcony. It's a beautiful garden on its own. I love the short format focused on oak leaf hydrangeas & a few other tips for the garden. My favorites continue to be serrata hydrangeas (I have Tiny Tuff Stuff). Their open flowers just bring in the bees.

    I love, love Oak leaf hydrangeas!!! They are a true four season plant! Beautiful exfoliating bark when bare, beautiful, fragrant flowers in spring and summer, lovely foliage that turns beautiful fall colors. My favorite is Ruby Slippers oak leaf hydrangea. She stays compact and doesn’t get as huge as regular oak leafs. Right now all mine are in bloom with huge white flowers which the pollinators love and that smell FABULOUS! Didn’t know about Alice…..may have to purchase her.😀Love your hubby’s roof top garden!

    Danielle, you’ve been inspiring me to plant more hydrangeas. This weekend, I planted 6 firelight tidbit, 5 little quick fire , an Annabelle and a soldier oak leaf!! And I’m looking to see where else I can fit more. And those are in addition to the 5 limelight, 6 pinky winky! They all have been very separate locations/groupings, but I’m inspired by how you really pack them in!!

    Hi Danielle, you really read my mind because I just bought my second Oakleaf hydrangea, the Gatsby girl ( Proven Winners). My first one Gatsby Star a good three years for it to really branch out and it’s looking beautiful so far! I have to see if I can obtain the Alice one! I am also influenced by your hydrangea rooms. I find my shade garden is looking a little bit too “Mosaic” for my liking. Similarly my indoor plants are looking unwieldy so I think I will try to experiment and do cuttings in water! Thanks also for showing your husband’s rooftop garden! 🥰🌸🇨🇦

We actually ordered a Don Egolf Redbud tree & a Wisteria tree form from them so far the only showy one we had so far is the Don Egolf. So excited to see it bloom even more next spring. We also have planted a hedge of 'Twist & Shout' Endless Summer hydrangeas. First year for them but it is producing small tiny blooms this year!

    Rocky 😻 and oakleaf is my favorite, by far. The blooms are huge and the fall color is unparalleled. Such interesting foliage too. Wish I could grow them, but I’ll just enjoy yours 😊 unless you think I could grow them in a huge pot year round…? (Zone 6)
    Also, about the corn plant, the stalk that’s left will eventually sprout new growth as well. We’ve had one in the family for 20+ years and just cut it back any time it gets too big or doesn’t look good.

    👋👋 questions... sun or shade new hydrangea? thank you 😊❤

    • @laurahiggins4712
      @laurahiggins4712 10 дней назад

      From Proven Winners: OAKLEAF HYDRANGEA FAQ’s
      How much sun does an oakleaf hydrangea need?
      Oakleaf hydrangea does best with direct morning sun and some afternoon shade, particularly in hotter climates. Too much sun can result in foliage burn.
      Will oakleaf hydrangea grow in shade?
      Plants can survive in shade, but do best with at least half-day sun. Too much shade can result in leggy growth, fewer blooms, poor fall color, and an increased risk for diseases such as powdery mildew.
