What of some of those dimensions are locations or planets in those 4 dimensions: Mewni dimension, Earth dimension, Magic dimension, and Hicapu's dimension.
I like River's character but I see your point. Maybe the reason he goes nuts as an adult is that as members of his family get older they become more...adventurous. Also Star knows what her dad is like because well...she's his daughter and has known him her whole life. So it's more of a reveal to the audience then a reveal to Star...plus he's not hiding it. The citizens all seem to know of his adventurous and party loving nature. Maybe tone it down just a little I guess.
Thanks for the comment :) On one hand I'd appreciate how River's wackiness works as sort of an opposite to Moon's organized queen thing, but its just too much...after thinking about it I like the idea of him being a calmer sort of character, more like a casual jokester type of guy who maybe helps Moon calm down when she's being a bit too intense or severe. but that's just my opinion and he's a pretty minor character anyway :)
