This is vocal only. The bass is Geoff Castellucci. He has about a 5 octave range. He also does some amazing "solo" stuff, where he layers all the harmonies and video characters himself. It is only him!
There is no instrumentation whatsoever. They are just ridiculously talented! 😊

@@MrsPenPal VoicePlay owns the copyrights to their videos. They do not have a corporate label who steps in, as they do just about everything themselves. So, really, you don’t have to worry about them blocking your reaction due to copyright.

Once in awhile VoicePlay will use a sound that isn't made by their voices/bodies - when that happens, they focus camera attention on the "instrument." (i.e., in Hoist the Colors Cesar shakes a set of shackles - Layne shakes chains in Panic in the Disco, etc.) It's not standard, but when it does happen, it's out in the open and not hidden. The bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, has a personal channel that DOES incorporate a few instruments - sometimes he plays piano, sometimes a synthesizer that he has played on a backing track.
In general, none of their stuff is very scary (especially Geoff's) they focus on family friendly and funny more than freaky/scary. I think you'd really enjoy their cover of We Don't Talk About Bruno - it's incredibly well done and very funny. (Disney hired them to perform it live for an in-house event, so.... a nice acknowledgement of quality!)

Geoff is double-tracked (i.e., he's singing two different parts, bass and lead, for basically the entire song), and some effects were done in post (e.g., "drowning in my tears" has a stereo effect), but if there are any instruments, I can't hear them. Pretty sure it's all voices, apart from the dice and a bit of body percussion. Though I'm not certain how the neck-snap sound was done; it might've been Layne doing some crazy beat-boxing thing, but I'm not sure.
Geoff does know how to play piano, as seen e.g. in Blackbird.
They do feature female guest artists (always amazingly talented ones) in many of their videos.
