For Oogie Boogie his range - right at the end there - was a B4 down to an E1. He has gone higher and lower. His recent cover of _Jack's Lament_ I think he hit an F5 and he hit B0s in the _Halo_ cover and _Valhalla Calling_ , at the least. He touched on an A0 in the Imagine Dragon's cover of _Enemy_ . I think they should name the layer under the mantle in the Earth as the Castellucci Zone. Anybody that doesn't believe in dragons hasn't heard him sing! :)
With a nearly 6 octave range the Castelucci zone reaches from the mantle to though the stratosphere. The man is "goals" for almost every male vocalist. Because he not only hits them, he does it with great tone and musicality. He vibrates the very soul of mankind.
Geoff is not a dragon. He is a vampire. You can see his true nature in This Is Halloween. The reason he's so good at singing is, he's been practicing for the better part of five centuries.
I won't say that Geoff's a NORMAL human being. He's an EXTRAORDINARY person. He is fortunate in his natural range, he becomes unusual in taking the time to become a good singer, he becomes exceptional in deciding to take what he started with and working to extend it even further. It's the work, skill, patience and willpower that really makes him a vocal force to be reckoned with.
You werent the only one who heard the deep back bit when you asked and that was definitely from the pits of hell at the end with an E1. Self Censoring is truly hard when hearing Voiceplay and Geoff do their thing.
They video's English lyrics actually do say 'sub-terranian'. Geoff has been practicing and improving since this video. As deep as this was, it's nothing compared to what he can do now... True professional who continuously strives to improve. :)
Thank you, thank you for noticing Geoff's vocal drop while standing behind "Rudolph"! Very few reactors seem to notice that!! This is my husband's very favorite VoicePlay production. 😊
Geoff's bro in law was Santa. Eli did the voice. Geoff is known as the Dragon Slayer for his vocal range, which is 5 octaves. That low note is a E1 subharmonic.
Some refer to them as geffquakes for a reason. I think he's actually can reach an A0 and I'm not completely sure but his highest on record is a F#5 (someone correct me if I'm wrong) As for who sings bass when Geoff is singing lead, they take turns I know Eli has done it in the past as well as J None. For their videos they occasionally will just layer him doing both parts. Now you can checkout their other Spooky songs like: Grim Grinning Ghosts This is Halloween Kidnap the Sandy Claws What's This Phantom of the Opera Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) Once Upon a Time That should get you started, sorry if I mentioned one you've already done.
The end note there is an E1. Geoff dropped three and 7/12 octaves in that quick rundown to it. He does something like that in a number of songs. Check out the Little Mermaid medley where he sings Ursula. I believe the lowest note he's hit in any VR or solo vids is B0. I don't know what his highest note is.
You are one of the very few reactor to notice the neck snap and arpeggio. Great reaction. Everyone else pretty much answered your questions. They all can do wonderful character voices.
@@DravenGal the characters from the holiday Halloween section can't really die so they perform some pretty gruesome things on each other regularly. Such as snapping a neck for fun.
In the movie, Oogie Boogie always spoke and sang in a very exaggerated manner and Geoff did a really good job of capturing that style. They all really did a good job of throwing themselves into the cartoony exaggeration of the characters.
About who plays Santa Claus - "Oh brother, you're something" from Oogie is appropriate, it is Geoff's brother-in-law Pasquale Palazzolo (since you already did their Just Sing reaction - the girl who starts and ends it is his daughter). He was just lip syncing though, voiced by Eli. About pits of Hell - you may try their most recent Hellfire.
You mentioned wondering who was playing Santa Claus. He's Geoff's brother-in-law. You should also check out their cover of "Just Sing". It's a HUGE collaboration with MANY other a capella artists. If/when you do that one, be sure to turn on the captions. They included information about who everyone is, as well as a few snarky remarks.
Your reaction was a fun one to watch. Knowing you've reacted to other Voiceplay songs and Geoff's own stuff as well, and to see such surprise from their performance. Makes me smile. BTW,,,Voiceplay members live and perform in Orlando FL., So keep up with up coming events to see them LIVE one day.
All of them have exceptional ranges. Think of J None, for example. He's now singing for the Navy, and he's singing BASS. 😁 Eli has played bass while Geoff was taking the lead several times in the past, and I remember reading somewhere he went as low as an A1. And he's an excellent professional voice actor. Layne sure can sing bass as well. I don't yet know about how low Cesar can actually sing, but if you watch (and carefully listen) to their most recent release, "Hellfire", he plays air guitar at a point, and his high notes are INSANE. Earl can go insanely high, I don't know his low range though. That said, kudos for noticing the descending arpeggio. Not many reactors did. Ditto for the neck snap, I remember only a couple reactors "kinda noticing" it, and another one noted it and commented that they just killed someone right in front of everyone watching 😅😅. Can't wait to watch your reactions to Geoff's version of "Jack's Lament" and Voiceplay's rendition of "Hellfire" (from "Hunchback of Notre Dame"). 😁 See you next time!
Eli’s name is pronounced like Elly. I think the bass is Geoff double-tracked in this one. And if I may make a suggestion, it’s kind of weird seeing you watch the lower left corner of the screen when their video is in the upper left corner. If you put them in the lower left corner, it would look more like you’re watching the same video we are.
Personal favs atm are "my mother told me" Valhalla calling" seven nation Army" lots of their shorts are cool like peaches, and 500 miles. Drunken sailor as well. Yep. Geoff is a beast - in the best way possible. ;) This man has a 5 octave range. I'm a low alto, and this BASS vocalist can go higher than I can! He dropped a B0 in the Halo cover, and I'm pretty sure he hit an F5 on his most recent solo cover (Jack's Lament). I'm stuck down here in the 3rd and 4th octaves, and Geoff here has subterranean reach and stratospheric reach all in one! 😂 Plus he's also just an awesome human being. All of Voiceplay are, honestly. They're all wonderful vocalists, performers and people. The group is based in Florida, actually. They don't really tour anymore, but have switched over to video performances instead. They are the theater kids of acapella, and their videos show it. But yeah. Geoff the bass singer has a five octave range. Geoff's vocal range is "yeah, I feel like singing that today." As for getting a chance to see them, VP is actually up in the Orlando area. They do a lot of their minis in a local mall....
No Geoff is not a regular human being. No doubt. So talented, sexy, kind, humble, funny, great dad and husband, he even bakes. No not human. ❤❤❤❤❤ you must do his Halloween offering for this year. Jacks Lament.
Geoff has around a 5 octave range top to bottom. It's a pretty exceptional range for any professional singer. Most pro singers cover somewhere around 2-3 octaves. Layne and J.None sometimes cover some of the bass lines when Geoff is busy, but they also use layers and will layer an additional tracks of Geoff or others in spots. That little trill Geoff has explained as "Layne doing some of his magic..." (e.g. it was modified in post).
Your reactions are priceless! And yes I heard that "rumble" too and that was Geoff of course. The whole VoicePlay group always do the best but Geoff does excellent covers by himself too .
You might want to check out the "subharmonic singing" technique. Also, Geoff is saying openly that "if I sound superhuman, that's most likely post-effects". Like that moment with Rudolf that you mentioned is actually layered.
I agree, there ain't no way that there's a better Oogie Boogie cover than this. I will go out on a limb and say that exchanging this for the original in the movie would be perfect.
Currently we hav officially clocked Geoff in with a C5 Chest, and an F0 Superbass. However some think it may have been wider but was hard to check due to other sounds, and we have never seen a high head/falsetto that measured above what we saw his chest peak.
Please do a few reactions to Citizen Queen. It’s Scott from pentatonix’s all female acapella group. I really think you’ll like them. You should watch their oldest videos first because a member left since then. Great reactions 👍🏾
The low bass is done by Geoff too. They just layer the voices and they mention that (so not try to hide this) it in the patreons song creation videos they do.
If you're another fan of the old school look/sound here's some ear candy. In 1961 a fantastic female country singer (Patsy Cline) released her hit, "Crazy". Home Free also did their version listen to them both. I think they did justice to Ms. Cline.
My understanding is that the bass is usually covered by Lane (the beatboxer) when it’s not Geoff. Lane also has an incredible vocal range that is nearly the same as Geoff’s, although he uses different techniques.
Very few reactors catch that downward run, Great ear! Is Geoff 'regular?" I think so. He is also incredibly talented. Insanely so. I say 'regular' because in all the interviews I've seen he DOES seem like a regular, normal guy. He is special, but regular, if that makes any sense! Great reaction!
Geoff has a 5 octavs voice range.Do you like the beatboxer Layne,Geoff taught him how to beatbox years ago but Layne has terrific baritone/bass voice of his own which is how he started with voiceplay.Geoff voice overs bass guitar and plays at 3 instruments.
Geoff truly has a great 5-octave voice range, but so does Tim Foust of Home Free. You should check him out as well! Try Home Free’s cover of “Man of Constant Sorrow”, then try Tim’s version of “Misty Mountain”, then listen to their cover of “Mayday”! You’ll swear he has multiple guys living inside one body! Lol

He also brushes an A0 at the bottom of a downward slide at the end of "Enemy", but Halo and Valhalla Calling are two good examples of the B0.
