You would think that a company would fall all over themselves when a high end customer as yourself walked in their door. That now would be the time for the best product they can deliver be returned to you. If it would have made you happy you would have let everyone know that. But instead you held your self back from throwing them under the bus to the wide audience that you have. Keep up with great work your videos help me in keeping my two Tacomas rolling.

Thank you. And heck yes, Tacomas!!
I am not sure they knew anything about me, but that shouldn't really matter. If I told them what my expectations were, they could have mentioned at the beginning that they were a production shop and I would have been cool with that. You're right though - if they had done a stellar job, I would have sang their praises to the high hills!! It would have been great advertising for them :))

Honestly, i didn't see that power coating disaster coming. Wow. I could feel Faye's sadness and frustration through the damn computer screen. I almost wanted to start crying because this project is sooo important to her and they treated her parts like they were not important at all. Whoever owns that company deserves to go out of business. There is NO excuse for putting a new employee on ANY job period, let alone one that is wicked important.

Hey Faye Hadley I understand being ticked off at a powder coater! I had this happened to me 25yrs ago. But you can over come this! I had a friend wet sand everything up to 1500 sandpaper! You can smooth it and get out those nubs. If not sand blast it off and do it again. There is a company in Texas called dustless blasting can get everything clean and not damage the parts. But try sanding it first 😊

I practice on several scrap pieces and found that if yow preheated the material first and make sure it’s thoroughly cleaned. It works really well. I am so so so sorry they took 6wks of your time and probably another 6wks more work to correct everyting. When they said they'd rip up the check, that was your reality check. The money was all that mattered to them. Communication may have been at fault, however; don't they know who you are? I'm more than certain you explained the circumstances, but that phrase was what they were all about. "Make The Sale" we'll take care of the fallout later. Ouch! Happened to me also. Chrome shop claimed 150 years of experience. Gave them my parts to chrome. Time Passes. I thought i wasn’t getting my parts back. Finally they called 2.5 months later and my parts were ready. I got the parts back and they skipped some steps as my parts were not even a half a** good chrome job. They did not clean the grime and chromed over it and they didn’t know how to hang one part, so they drilled a hole into it. “You didn’t think about calling me?” They kept my $$$ and then they went out of business. Issues of “self medicating”. If you can learn and do it yourself; you are better off. There is an E company out there can’t remember their name that helps many people with that stuff.
Live and learn. (not an advertisement).

  • @W0O0G

Fuel pulsation damper dampens the fuel pressure oscillations caused by the injectors opening and closing on a long fuel rail, not the the fuel pump, you can check this out for yourself once your up and running by blanking the damper port and logging fuel pressure, then connecting the damper back up, at certain rpms you’ll get resonance inside the rail, which is what drive the oscillations. As a side not, having rubber fuel lines on the pressure side does wonders for damping the oscillations as the entire fuel line acts as an accumulator (which is what the damper is). Happy building!

Hi Faye, what a missed opportunity for the powder coating company , I'm sure that if they’d done an exceptional job they would have got a positive mention and earned a few more customers in the bargain. Sad and dissapointing effort. Have a look at Mark Priesling on youtube , he's done several videos on various methods of metal finishing including powder coating , if he'd done your parts they would have been perfect. Love the videos.

"They did not think I was the customer for them"
That is a bullshit statement that encompasses incompetence and poor management all in one statement, and simultaneously gaslights the customer. "How dare you complain about the services you received from us!" That shit boils my blood. I'm sure you had choice words off camera as well, but in Faye fashion you smile as you present this disastrous outcome. Except at 8:00, I felt that subdued emotional complex through my fucking phone.
The engine looks mint btw, despite the "professional" powder coating. Your hard work does not go unnoticed.

Amazing 20 years ago my son came back from Secondary School with similar. It did actually provide protection for six or seven years, pealed and blistered and the metal underneath rotted. Long story, life does get in the way.
IMO, in one sample, powder coating masks rust, ten ~ twenty years, it's dust.
So imo. he's telling you this produce is shit.
