I was recently at a convention where they had managed to get a hold of this game. My friends and I spent hours playing and I managed to get a pretty good time of about 4.4 seconds. Incredibly fun and addictive for such a simple game, and I strongly recommend you play it if you get the chance.

Im so glad you posted this because i could not remember the name of this game to save my life and i have such fond memories of a cruisei went on with entire family in 2005 that had a quick & crash in the on ship "arcade"(really it was a handful of games in a room with not quite enough real estate but i digress...) and i have the best memories of a young competitive me locked in an epic, or what i thought was epic at the time, battle for the all important number 1 slot with my unknown nemisis. Everytime i would just barely secure the number 1 spot it seemed like without fail the next day or sometimes even hours later when id return to the game to my amusement and frustration my score would be beat by miliseconds placing me once again in 2nd place. So this cycle of me getting the top score only to return to see it beat went on for 5 or 6 days all the while never encountering my rival, so if by some crazy chance you happen to read this and went on a royal carib cruise the summer of 2005 and were in a daily duel for 1st place on this amazing piece of hardware i thank you. You helped create a lot of fun times and good memories of me playing trying to get the 1st place slot while my brother and cousins stood by in amazment at how the gun seemed to hardly leave the holster before quickly being back in its original place while still making every shot. So again thanks and i hope you werent to upset about my 1st place time that wasnt topped by the last day 👌
oh and sorry to anyone that made it this far if some this kind of runs on im typing all this with a controller so needless to say its not exactly a joy to use for these kinds of things.....

Thanks for this! I had played this before, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Also, the sleight of hand used with the shattered-but-not-really cup is incredible. You figure it out fairly quickly, but when you first see it, it's astonishing. Mechanical games like this used to be a mainstay in arcades through the 1970s... it makes me wish I had been old enough to play them.

I saw this machine a good while ago. It was a really cool experience when the cup exploded, and all the way til this moment, I thought that is what happened. It is a bit like finding out how a magic trick you love is explained. I am glad to finally know how it works... but also disappointed because it was just a trick. But regardless, I am glad to see someone talk about this game and explain how it works. I feel like they could some how make a home version of this with the real experience though. I mean I have a few table top shooters that use pellets guns in plastic housings that knock things over. And with motion controls and vr systems out there, drawing a gun is pretty doable... hell I played a wild west shooter with a friend of mine where you had to do just that.... and I sucked at it... Probably why I mostly play slower games... In any case, thank you for this video, it was a great watch.

When you play area 51, ONLY shoot the first 3 humans on your side.
Only use 3 shots to do it.
They're infected with the disease, and doing this unlocks "kronn hunter mpde"
It's the secret way to actually beat the game.
I was born in 92, and I grew up near an arcade that had it. Plus I owned it for Sega saturn.
It's how to get the true ending
I figured this out on my own long before my house got internet.
Try it. You get neat visuals with it too.

Lucky & Wild isn't technically a light gun game. The guns are mounted into swiveling analog joysticks and their position determines where you aim. You can confirm it by covering the guns' barrels when you shoot them.
