    Really helpful Casey. Thank you. I was at TravelCon recently and someone warned me off this product (saying that they had heard it was terrible). Although I would love the functionality (control) that is offered by the regular Mediavine product, Journey doesn't look too bad to me. This video (and the previous one) are most appreciated.

      Glad it was helpful! It really isn’t too bad and my guess is they will add more flexible ad settings in the next several months.

    Hi Casey, I've added my site to Journey and completed the payment info in the settings wizard. Everything seems to be set up and connected, but I don’t see any payment-related settings in the dashboard. Is this normal?

    Hi Casey!! Great video. I have a question and I'd like to hear your opinion. I was accepted into the program 3 days ago after a 60-day review, but I'm not seeing any Google ads. Also, in the past 3 days, my earnings have not exceeded 50 cents, even though I have 1500 or more visitors to my site per day. Is this normal? Thank you.❤

      @CaseyBotticello  Месяц назад +1

      It is too early to tell whether your earnings (RPM) are “good” or not…this ramp up period occurs over 3-4 weeks typically. It’s also during this period that you will begin to see less grow ads and more traditional third party ads.

    hello, how long does it take for the adds to set up everywhere on your site please? I'm with them since 10 days now and a majority of my articles have no adss yet. Do I need to change anything in the settings maybe? thanks!

      Are you seeing blank ad placeholders? It does take a while for ads to appear across all pages consistently…but 10 days is sort of long. What theme are you using?

    Hey Casey, thanks for sharing. Quick question, when you were using AdSense for the site, was you using Adsense Auto Ads? Or manually placing them?

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  2 месяца назад

      I tried both methods with AdSense but still had a fairly low RPM (were basically the same). I’ve had success with manual placement in the past but the site had more traffic than this one/longer session duration.

    With the recent stuff going on with Google, would you still recommend starting niche sites to someone who’s starting from scratch?

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  3 месяца назад

      Good question (and always a tough one to answer)...people told me years ago blogging was dead, and I'm glad I didn't listen as I've had sites fairly recently (that were created within a year or so) still do quite well!
      I think what's important now more than ever is to pick a niche that you are super passionate about and has multiple monetization methods.
      If you are passionate about a subject, and there are several ways to monetize your content, a blog is still one of the best ways to start a business online for next to nothing.
      So, if you were only interested in earning via display ads, I'd say you may want to reconsider. But if your niche has affiliate programs, info products, physical products you can eventually produce, or has a loyal enough audience to support subscriptions and membership offerings, then there will still be opportunities for the foreseeable future.
      If you take that a step farther, and are willing to diversify traffic sources (organic search, paid search, social media marketing, etc.), it is an even easier call.

    I got accepted today but im seeing mostly ads are about there promotion of grow, what you say about this

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  Месяц назад

      This is common for the first few weeks as it takes time for ad inventory to populate on your site.

      My 90% traffic from Germany, how much rpm it can give,
      I was using Ezoic before and leave them after seeing a drop from $20 EPMV to 8-10 in a month

    Hey Casey!! Great video. I have a question thou and i would love to hear your opinion. With the AI overview already out what are your thoughts on how it can affect websites relying on ads monetization?

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  3 месяца назад +1

      Good question! I saw an early drop around when AI rollout happened ( and I’m sure there will be more delayed impact)…it depends on your content I think…some queries will remain cost prohibitive for Google for a while. Also it depends how well the ai snippet answers search intent.
      My sites tend to rely on images very heavily to explain info so most people would still need to go beyond an AI summary and follow steps, so I doubt these will be crushed in the near future.
      But it is definitely tough to know…Google could even reverse course (they have promised phasing out third party cookies but always have kicked the can down the road).
      All this said, with all these challenges many bloggers are quitting or downsizing teams, which may allow some new bloggers.
      The real answer is to diversify away from just using display ads. Affiliate marketing, info products, subscription services pay much more. While I have many display ad only sites, I have plans to pivot their monetization if this comes to pass (or they are hit in updates).

      No, you just need to run Grow for at least 30 days. AdSense is not required.

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  3 месяца назад +1

      I think you just need a privacy policy although if you have affiliate ads I’d make sure you have an affiliate disclaimer page. Only takes a few minutes to create either.

    how does it compare to Ezoic?

    • @CaseyBotticello
      @CaseyBotticello  2 месяца назад +1

      Well the RPM is decent and it has far less obtrusive ads so I’d say much better!
