I played this game when I was little. I recently got a switch and started playing Smash and this song started playing and at second 0:22 I received a major flashback of what game this song came from. Such a perfect song for a boss battle.
Honestly, such a fantastic remaster. I used to listen to this song a lot, so I'd know if anything was even slightly off. The timing was perfect, the instrumental choice was incredible and overall it sounded great. The only thing I would change is the volume of the background choir, it can be heard in this but it seems just a bit too subtle compared to the original. Apart from that, it's literally perfect.
Oh my goodness no you are totally right about the choir!! In the OG it’s more panned to the left and plays a bit louder. What I did in this song was sorta replace the choir by playing it next to a 50 string ensemble. I totally should have upped the choir tho, amazing observation 😏

This is awesome! This sounds true to the original without going too off track. These drum arrangements were a really nice addition to the pace. I've seen many remixes of this song on RUclips but, I'm sooooo glad you didn't omit the iconic high pitch synth notes and done it right. I think the preservation of the high pitch synth notes made this remaster atleast just as good as the original and even better. I also prefer your version over the official remake in the new Bowser Inside Story remake. Keep it up! 💯

I know the original dev team behind M&L are now defunct, but I'd love to see Nintendo remake this, enhance 3ds bowsers inside story, and include a remake of partners in time and put them on Switch
Very faithful to the original, but still manages to improve the intensity felt through it ! Quite often, there is no need to greatly change or add lots of instruments to the original track to make it shine even brighter. Of course, both approaches can give great results, it just needs to be done with a sens of balance and sometimes, restraint, in what you do : "will this modification / new instrument really add to the music ?" And in this case, it does. This is exactly the level of remix/remaster i'm looking for ! I'm really curious to see what would come out if you tried to work on some Metroid or Zelda music !

@@Typho157 Well, as you can probably tell from the profile picture i'm a huge fan of Metroid, and when it comes to music the 3 Metroid Prime games contains the most memorable tracks in my opinion. Metroid music, just like the games themselves, are heavily oriented toward ambience and atmosphere, which is why i'm curious to see how you would handle such music. I can't really recommend specific tracks because i'll obviously have a biased opinion. Instead, if you've never heard these ost i'd advise to take a listen for these 3 games and pick a track that inspires you ! There's all kind of ambiance to find there, from fiery caverns to a flooded underground temple, from a majestic flying city to a dark and corrupted landscape of some holy grounds, etc. Some boss fight musics are really good and deserve attention too. It might not help you decide, but at least it's showing the full spectrum of environment these games treat. Of course don't force yourself to work on something like this, this is just an idea i've thrown after all ! I'll stand by my previous advice, to pick something that intrigues you or gives you ideas, because the best way to make it work is if you're interested yourself as well 😉
