This battle utterly cemented that if you were in doubt of Bowser before, you absolutely shouldn't be. He can't match up to the Bros for the most part, but when its down to the wire on a threat that requires a team-up, Bowser rules. Dude stared down their universe's embodiment of pure evil atop the castle of his enemy amidst the destruction of all of the land and LAUGHED. Yes, the bros helped defeat the Dark Star, but they wouldn't ever have gotten that far without Bowser going toe-to-toe with the full power of darkness and WINNING. Every second of that final punch out was earned.
I just realized I that dark bowser is way stronger than bowser but the stupid thing is that dark bowser gave up like 70 percent of his power just to corrupt the mushroom kingdom and bowsers castle
Dark bowser isn’t at full power, his other half dark fawful is reduced to a fraction of his dark energy from nearly dying and only “technically” at full dark star power by those broken halves combining. Would have loved to see a fully powered dark fawful or dark star unleashed!
Name a better final boss battle than this one. The music and atmosphere are perfect, the stakes and the tension are high and Mario, Luigi and Bowser all have to work together.
This has to be the hardest (not difficulty) final boss OAT. Fighting a bowser copy AS BOWSER, fighting the very soul of said bowser copy as the bros, The "THIS KINGDOM IS ALL MINE! SO *YOU* VANISH! *S* *H* *O* *W* *T* *I* *M* *E*" is an unbelieavably hard line AND THE MUSIC POPS OFF

Also when dark bowser starts freaking out when fawful is defeated, looks better here and fawful mischievous laugh when he blows up is chef-kiss🫡❤️
