You know, there is something ironic about Bowser's lines. Usually, the flames he spits out are a symbol of his wrath and the sheer might that he is capable of. It's a destructive force. Here though? His flames become a beacon. The last bastion of light as the Kingdoms are plunged in Darkness, and they only grow stronger the longer he remains. His fire becomes a symbol of life, and hope.
Always loved how Bowser is done here as well as Super Paper Mario: Hes not fighting for the good or because he turned over a new leaf. Hes the villain and no other villain stands in his way.
I mean, at the start of Bowser's Inside Story he tried to turn over a new leaf and help the Mushroom Kingdom instead of kidnapping the Princess. The only reason this fight is happening is because it didn't go well and Fawful took advantage of that in order to kick off his plans.
To answer the question Chuggaa asked: yes, based on the dialogue after the fight, I do think _some_ remnant of Fawful is left in there. How much there is, is up for debate.
It's possible that he was being puppeted by the Dark Star or had his sense of self infected by or merged with the Dark Star and only returned to his true self after the Dark Star was destroyed. But it's probably just as likely he was completely insane either way.
To compare it to another Chugga game, there was probably as much left of Fawful as there was Porky from Earthbound by the end. Like yeah, the personality was still there, but he was so depraved with evil that it couldn't be much of whatever they used to be.
"I have conquered galaxies- now I step down to see if a shadow can bleed" I LOVE this line so much. Maybe it's me reading too far into this, but the use of "step down" after his proclamation is super cool. It's like Bowser's saying that this fight is below him. Like he's just taking a breather from his typical work.
Kinda true seeing how Bowser has gotten the power to make his dreams reality (Dream team) and controlled straight up gods to deal with the Mario bros before
@kittlegame5550 I do feel like with his let's play story wise over and him mentioning this, it does bring that into question. How much of Fawful was still even in there? More then likely nothing left of the original villian we learned to love in his debut
@@kittlegame5550I feel like there was at least something left of the little miscreant mechanist in there based purely on the dialogue inside of Bowser at the end. Pulling a false surrender only to self-destruct doesn't seem like something a near primordial entity like the Dark Star would pull, especially since it seemed hellbent on simply survival. Such underhanded tactics scream Fawful, a final petty act born of spite and desperation.
@@toypikachutheoctoling6029 After the fight fawfull does promise to not get the attention of the bros and blew himself up as a last ditch attempt to get rid of them. There are small references to him that he's still kicking around but I think at most his intelligence has been muddled by the dark stars yearning for more power
When originally fighting this boss, I imagined bowser and dark bowser still fighting while mario and luigi were fighting fawful. I like that I’m not the only person who thinks this
Bowser: are they gone? Dark Bowser: Yeah Bowser: so how was your day? Dark Bowser: pretty good you? Bowser: eh nice Dark Bowser: Good Good, did you hear about Alphadreams near bankrupcy lately Bowser: Yeah kinda sad to be honest Dark Bowser: we get along quite well you know Bowser: yeah i think this is the start of a great friendsh- Dark Bowser: and fawful just got destroyed so AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA *fades out of existence* Bowser: ;(
@@delfinner2212 Please don't remind me of Alphadreams bankrupcy 😭. I still hope nintendo would revive them and give us a creative new Mario-RPG (not this Paper Jam Crap) or at least a Partners in time remake (which was probably skipped because there were too many crative characters).
@@silver_5311 nah it was skipped because they thought it wouldn't sell as well as bis remake would. remember that they were nearly bankrupt at that point.
By god, this is... astonishing! Bowser's Inside Story has quite possibly the best final battle in any game. After all, what's a finale without a Bowser appearance? Everything about this just screams "final battle." Dark Bowser's intimidation, the real Bowser's confidence, the Bros' kind-hearted optimism, it's all here. Man on the Internet, you've done this tune the justice it deserves and then some!
It’s not actually Mario singing there, it’s fawful singing with the bro’s, because he is trying to break away from the dark embrace of the dark star, he only wanted revenge, but the dark star took everything away from him, especially his sanity. But it’s awesome
Caden Morgan Fawful doesn’t actually sing at all. That segment after Mario and Luigi is the Dark Star, which Alex voices. Mario sings as well. Harmonizing is basically 2+ people singing on key. It doesn’t sound as though 2+ people are singing, it sounds like one.
I still love the opening dialogue. Bowser's telling this dark abomination to just fuck right off - "I admit you make a pretty good villain, BUT I'M EVEN BETTER." The whole song has a wonderful Broadway-musical feel to it, and it's fantastic.
Things both versions have- 1. Marios singing in my nightmares. 2. Bowser with a 'looky here' and play ground level insults. 3. A ton of talent that deserves respect.
Luigi: "If you're still in there Fawful, know you still made one mistake!" Mario: "Thinking that we could never find a way to save the day!" Such a cheesy heroic thing to say but that's why I love that line so much.
i think its very funny, Fawful had Bowser eat the bros to get them out of the picture and the "if your still in there" is due to him being absorbed by darkness...the line is so fitting that it loses its cheesiness
@@stocktonlevel1goblin you nailed it. It is somewhat Canon that Mario and bowsers little.... adventures.... lately are more similar to Bluto and Popeye. Both want the girl. Even looking at the original, darker Boeser, he really hasn't changed much. He's not TOTALLY after wonton destruction, he just wants to rule all. And if anyone messes with his kingdom or a kingdom he wants to conquer, may heaven help you. This game I think showed that even bowser, even for selfish reasons, can be a hero. If he couldn't, why would his minons still follow him? Literally they could have sided with Fawful at any time, and many chose to serve their king.
It’s because Bowser knew that the Dark Star was a major threat, so he didn’t hold back, he holds back on Mario and Luigi as they’re humans and that if he were to use his full power, he’d win easily and have nobody to stop him, which we see in movies like Megamind that defeating the hero and having everything you could ever want is boring
I love the idea that this version goes for a dramatic tone, while Juno’s version goes for a more comedic tone. Both styles encapsulate what the Mario and Luigi series is and what people have come to love about the series
I seriously love how Bowser is so in character during this fight. Sure, he's fighting the bad guy, but not because he needs to save the world or anything. It's because if ANYONE is gonna destroy the world, it can be the one and only Koopa King himself.
Bowser's insults are the best. Some games make him look like an idiot but the ones that focus on how much of a character he is are phenomenal. Super Mario RPG, Super Paper Mario, and this one especially were great at that.
Whenever a mario game has Bowser and the Bros against a worldly evil it just really hits home the idea that Bowser isnt *the* bad guy, hes not a good guy, but i mean, you cant rule over the world if there's no world left
Friendly reminder that in the original game, Bowser can solo this fight by outdamaging the emergency heal he does at the end. This shows that he is physically stronger than some of the greatest forces on the planet, and that's WITHOUT the power of grand stars, or whatever Macguffin the game has in it's current incarnation. He is ABSOLUTELY going easy on Mario.
I'd like to think Bowser doesn't know how strong he truly is. If there ever comes a day where he does realize that, Mario wouldn't stand a chance. No amount of Plot Armor would save him.
@@LordTyph the problem I see with that is that it doesn't even seem to take much to kill bowser for mario, but for anyone else it seems incredibly difficult. Like, for mario, he just throws bowser into a landmine 3 times and he gives up, but you look at some of the other games and he takes a LOT more punishment.
I love how at the end, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser all sing in unison. I was hoping for that and you delivered. Well done, Alex! Another wonderful cover and another wonderful interpretation to this song.
Ty Chuggaa for guiding me. I love the harmony of the brothers. This obviously a video that's a few years old, but "we will never crawl, and here we stand" sounds like it should have been "stand tall" otherwise I love this, and it fills me with so much nostalgia
I was always here even before Chuggaa mentions. So, welcome to one of the greatest musical channels. Another one is JunoSongs, and they often sang and gave life to the same tracks. Like this one for example, giving multiple POVs.
You know, it's really amazing how this cover and Juno's cover are both spectacular in their own ways. I think the main difference is probably in the stories they tell - with Juno, his cover is a lot more one-sided. Bowser spits straight fire (both literally and metaphorically) the entire song while the Dark Star says nothing. That, combined with Juno's footage showing Bowser pulling off all the action commands perfectly, gives the impression that he's essentially bulldozing through all of Dark Bowser's bullshit, which...honestly? That is extremely cathartic, especially if you know what Bowser had to go through beforehand. It feels like a grand victory for both the characters and the viewers. Meanwhile, this cover feels more like a clash of titans - this time around, the Dark Star DOES sing, and its lyrics are in a similar vein to that of Dark Samus in Brinstar Depths - essentially just telling Bowser and the bros that they cannot hope to beat it, it's beyond their comprehension, give up and let their world be consumed...and Bowser's response is to give it the middle finger and tell it it's going to make it bleed. And unlike Juno's cover, the footage shows Bowser actually struggling and making mistakes, so Bowser still having that confidence here is just as awesome as when he was bulldozing through Dark Bowser in Juno's cover. so, yeah, good job
I feel like it could also be said that the two versions can represent a version of the game each. This one, the original ds version, and junos, the 3ds remake. Playing the ds version when it came out, players going in blind would most definitely get hit a lot, but that far into the game, it's likely that they have gotten good enough at it to stand a chance against dark bowser. On the other side, players who remember dark bowsers patterns from the original have a chance of beating the 3ds versions boss fight almost flawlessly, and that's potentially even without the use of the "easy mode", which was not included in the ds version. And, heck, the music track was originally called "In the final" as this video is titled, and they changed it to "The grand finale" when the 3ds version came around, which is the name juno went with when he made his lyrical adaptation.
@@paxgallery6646 Amazing. Also I love how this one focuses a lot more on "stars" and cosmic mentions in its lyrics while Juno's a lot like spitting fire, and stars are giant balls of fire.
I think the most beautiful thing about this fight is how Bowser comes into it. There’s no hesitation, no pause for reprisal, none of that. Bowser simply asks if the Dark Star is done running, and then in retorsion to his ultimate reveal of power simply exclaims “SO YOU VANISH!!”. Bowser never once doubts his ability to win during these fights. Or ANY fight in the game for that matter. And that level of confidence is what makes him so dangerous, wether he’s trying to kidnap Princess Peach, or defend the kingdom from an all powerful darkness. All hail the Koopa King.
Always loved this tint of melancholy and irony in the ending after Bowser wins the battle: - I have fallen... To come so far... So far... To lose... - Hey... You just ACTED like me. That doesn't mean you're ME. You're no match for the real deal, original Bowser... - Dark... Even with dark power completed... The unthinkable happened... - Right... You... LOST. Like aside from Bowser saying that Dark copy of him was inferior to him... He also admits that the fact of mimicking exactly him is why his copy lost even with all this power up - because Bowser always loses no matter what he does but why he is better than any knock-off copy? Because he never stops trying. That Koopa King is filled with Determination - you're simply out of luck that his goals never align with yours. Seriously Bowser's Inside Story was an awesome end for a trilogy.
Now I think Paper Jam deserves all criticism for it's weak plot, but I don't think people realize how important Dream Team is plot wise. Bowser is sick of losing, and is sick of playing second fiddle, which is why he betrays Antasma at the end. I really like that. He ditches his more comedic attitude in exchange for a more battle ready personality. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
Just imagine.. You're a toad walking around Toad Town then a dark storm starts. And you see the guy who's been terrorising your kingdom for years on top of a castle, fighting a dark version of himself, while they are singing a duet and very faintly you can hear the two heroes of your kingdom singing to themselves
What I'm blown away with is how well this takes its cues from classical Broadway theater. The part at the beginning where the characters transition seamlessly from talking, to riffing, to singing, is straight from traditional Broadway acting. It's something classic Disney films have down to a science, too.
Incredible. Hearing Bowser say "Not Today" to kick off the music gave me chills. You did an incredible job keeping the mood with the lyrics. Some people would call it cringe to give lyrics to a video game track, but I like to see such passion and attention put into this track. Thank you, and if you ever make more serious final boss tracks like this for anything it would be too good!
I think giving lyrics to video game tracks is a cool idea. I know this is way off topic, but Roar of the Jungle Dragon (Terraria calamity mod) is a great example of that.
@qpepThe i kno they went bankrupt, what i meant was nintendo themselves or a different company take up the mario and luigi torch in alphadream's absence
Everyone’s trash talking marios performance, when honestly I think he sounded AMAZING. Like seriously, the part where he gave his entire heart and soul to “We will bring the light back to all” actually gave me chills. Like seriously, so damn good
For some reason when I heard “we will bring the light” I thought that was Dark Fawful singing. At that part it kinda sounded like a voice for Fawful’s laugh.
I think it’s because Luigi drowns him out a bit. Might’ve been better to tone down Luigi slightly, so Mario could’ve been heard more clearly. Otherwise, it seemed he had no presence.
Bowser may be a literal got trying to kidnap one person but just remember he is a dumbass and that is why he loses WHO THE HELL GIVES THEIR ENEMY A WAY TO KILL THEM
The Dark Star, a very powerful object that literally stole DNA, teams up with Fawful, an evil genius mastermind, and then some turtle that ate 2 plumbers comes along and is like "Wanna die?"
Though to be fair, Bowser didn't even know that Mario & Luigi were inside his body during the entire game. He finds out after Dark Bowser and Fawful are defeated.
3:44 This has a meaning behind this. If you saw chuggaconroy video he mentions this cover and talks about this specific lyric mentioning how far Fawful has gone that the dark star took control basically killing him
The DS version of this game will always have a very special place in my heart, because it's the first game I can remember that I really paid attention to the soundtrack of, completed 100%, and went through again just to experience everything all over
This game I probably put in over 1000 hours and 3 playthroughs (screw the Junker) before I was able to get too dark bowser (and collectibles). Maxing the bros' attacks, redefeating bosses, and collecting every single bean, mush ball, and item in the game was hard enough but nothing could compare to the music. It hit me then and there when I finally got too dark bowser that this was the end of my 6-year journey for this unparalleled game and it left me with emptiness. I do not have my DS or 3DS anymore so I can not relive the glory days with my original BIS copy but it is probably the best RPG I have ever played. I may have all the M&L games and over 80 DS-compatible games, but I will never sell my copy of BIS (90 dollars as of writing this for the game alone) because of the magic and perseverance it reminds me of.
I was already considering rewatching this after Chuggaa's video, but when he mentioned this song DURING the final battle, that just solidified my decision. So like many others have commented, hello from Chuggaaconroy's channel!
“Inside the hearts of man I see the darkness beckoning, You deal with a power far beyond your reckoning.” Oh. *My god.* First of all, the voice effect on Dark Bowser and the almost opera-like tone gave me the chills. He sounds almost more sophisticated than Bowser, like he possesses a forbidden knowledge and cunning. But the best part in my opinion is that toward the end of the song, when that line is repeated, Dark Bowser sounds... afraid... Like it knows it’s losing. So yeah. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
I got my first video game ever when I was 4-5. It was a Nintendo DS, with Mario and Luigi, Bowser’s inside story on it. I loved it so much, playing it all the time, on car rides, before bed, even at school. The only issue was that I was so young, I could barely advance in the game at all, eventually getting completely stuck in the wiggler forest between the annoying carrot mini game, and the 2 boss fights that I unknowingly was severely under-leveled for. Slowly, I stopped playing the game bit by bit, until it got to the point I only ever played it on long road trips. Fast forward several years, to 2020, around March. By this point I had a 3DS, and even it was worn out. Somewhere on RUclips, I watched a few videos about the Mario and Luigi franchise. I then was spoiled on some of the boss fights and music later in the game. Seeing these gave me tons of nostalgia, but also determination, to fight all of these battles myself. I dug out my old 3DS and game cartridge which the 3DS could only barely read because it was so worn out. I started the game, almost tearing up at how much I missed the cheery menu music. Over the next week or 2 I sped through the game with my greatly improved timing and problem solving capabilities. I finally beat dark bowser, which was one of the best bosses I’ve ever fought ccand completed the game, 10 years later. As I watched the credits roll, I cried. Between 2020 and my dad fighting cancer, this was probably the happiest I had been in a long time. This song brought back a lot of the memories of that day, and I am very grateful for that. Thank you Update: not completely sure since the doctors weren’t clear but my dad is cancer free. Thank you all for the support!
To the people brought here by Chugga, this is only a taste of what this channel has to offer. They've got tons of Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, and pretty much everything else. I'd recommend checking out their Pokémon Musical Bytes playlist. Trust me, these guys are the kings of video gane covers.
I originally thought that they hadn’t done a part for Fawful because it would’ve made the song too long and clashed with the lyrics, but I just realized the importance of him staying quiet: it’s meant to show how far he’s really descended. There’s still remains, shadows, of the cunning Beanish genius who managed to outplay both the Mario. Bros. and the King of the Koopas, but it’s not shining on through as you’d likely expect him too. Fawful’s finally obtained his dark power, at the cost of his prized minion freezing to death from something that HE had a hand in and now has lost the remaining bits of sanity when he became fused with the Dark Star Core, into the horrid “little” bug he is now. There’s no Engrish taunts or “Mustard of Doom” being screamed in a fashion we could find charming or comical: We’re seeing nothing but his demented rage. He might’ve been a crazed, malicious genius before but here? This is the final stand of a broken, insane remains of a man who’s desperately trying to finish his quest and bring upon a happy ending-especially if it means the end of the three pains that’ve plagued him for YEARS now and brought not just his plans crumbling to pieces, but his beloved and departed mistress’ as well... (Also, the reason I wrote this was because Fawful, himself, wasn’t specifically credited in the description or video haha.) (Also this song is super good and god do I love this song)
Funnily enough, in both this version and Juno's version of the song, Luigi points this out, and at the same parts of the song: "If you're still in there, Fawful, know you still made one mistake"/"The darkness went straight to your head, you've lost who you are, Fawful"
Well, beloved isn't a good description. If you played the bowsers minions in the remaster of Superstar saga, he actually planned to betray her via the mechawful factory in the final battle
This is such a beautiful, dramatic telling of the climax of the game, if not ALL m&l games. In verse 1, with dark bowser: his portraying of not only a crazed, overwhelmingly powerful foe is perfect for his role against bowser, but he doesn't just sound like a "it's hopeless, give up" monologue. He actively challenges them with lines such as "scattered like dust in the night" like how hope is already gone for all but the final brigade of bowser and bros. Verse 2: Bowser cutting off his counterpart is perfect. His lines portray perfect how immensely powerful he is, such as "now i step down to see, if a shadow can bleed". Him getting legitimately angry with his line of "i am the koopa king" shows his overwhelming fury, and the extent of his trust in his allies to guide and support him in time of need. He's not just a king; he is THE king, and nobody can dare challenge him and survive. Verse 3: The Mario Bros. I LOVE how Luigi leads the lyrics, whilst Mario follows up on it. Similar to M&L Dream Team, it shows how Luigi has found his confidence again, and the bros are throwing everything on the line. In contrast to bowser's approach of domination, the bros' lyrics centers more around hope, that they "will never crawl, and here we stand". Their will and power in tandem, in their final stand for all they know and cherish about the world, for all the light in it; their "starlight and powers combined." Verse 4: In The Final. Bowser's fury now feels like an overwhelming, albeit blunt, heroism. He understands what needs to be done, whether selfishly or not, and feels as if he's turned that rage into motivation and power for the first time. The sync with him and the mario bros just drives it deeper; all three of them are no longer enemies. They are no longer separate. They finally understand one another, and nothing can separate that bond, to drive away the darkness and "bring the light back to all."
I also really love how Bowser takes over the Dark Star's chorus in Verse 4. It really feels like he's shoving the Dark Star aside and saying "Hey! You're not the villain of the Mario games, I AM!"
I never realized how powerful the line “I will put you back in the ground was” because not only is it a great insult, it also references how the dark star was sealed underground until it was woken up by fawful
No, I’m not sure what you are thinking of but it was originally found underground and the toads dug it up, then it caused chaos to the mushroom kingdom the star sprites sealed it away underground in a safer location until fawful found it and woke it up
I love how, during this entire time, Bowser isn't scared or intimidated in the slightest, he's just playing along with this cute attempt of trying to be him.
I can't believe this cover is over 3 years old. You guys at MOTI keep improving year by year, but goddamn you were always amazing!! Alex, Kyle, and Juno all go so well together as Bowser and the Bros and those transitions with the piano were probably the best parts. I especially love the transition from the Dark Bowser battle to the Dark Core battle at 3:15 where Bowser signs as he sucks in the core, and the Bros singing as they get ready to fight! All the parts at pieced together amazingly! What an awesome channel.
I just realized something about the lyrics. Dark Bowser said that “Inside the hearts of man I see the darkness beckoning.” Yet his opponent is a Koopa king with two men, a Star Sprite and various Toads inside his body. And those two men are none other than the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. The same heroes that had already faced the Dark Star in battle... not to mention their fights with Fawful in the Beanbean Kingdom. Tell me what you think, but I feel that was one reason Dark Bowser lost. He was facing a creature for whom persistence was second nature... and two beings of strength and courage that were undoubtedly more capable than he had imagined. Even the darkest night cannot completely put out a fire that refuses to die.
i think that is the SOUL reason why not only dark bowser NOT ONLY the dark star (twice) BUT all that and fawful as well... bowser may look evil but he's not he's just a father and a hero on the inside (and im not talking about mario and luigi) he may hate the plumbers but we all see through that bad guy act he's just a (somewhat) caring father, a strong and determined koopa with a bright fire inside his soul... and a true hero in all our hearts...
I’m so into the Mario series as a whole. Nintendo got me to love this with other of their popular franchises as well. I always have tears when playing their games with moments like these. The Mario and Luigi part of this video is how I would imagine how they will sing and that made me cry, it sounded wonderful. Thank you Nintendo for the memories.
If the devs behind the new game (which i think some old AlphaDream devs are working there) achieves to make a story and a final boss like the BIS or even better mario and luigi will be so LITERALLY back
Oh man, I’m gonna have the same problem with this song that I have Megalovania with lyrics and wronglovania, I’m gonna be singing one to myself and then randomly switch to the other mid chorus.
The Mario and Luigi series is easilly the best incarnation of the series. Mario and Luigi's personalities are on full show, and it highlights that while both Bros are heroes in their own right, they still need one another to truly succeed. Also Mario's "We will bring the light, back to all" was godlike, he belts that out at the top of his lungs like he really means it. Easilly the best Mario performance I've heard outside of Charles Martinet himself.

The line: “if you’re still in there fawful know you still made one mistake…” is so powerful The implied connection between them is honestly poetic in a way seeing how fawful could actually have been a good person but, power corrupts So
How the hell was Fawful a good guy when he littearly wanted the power of dark star for himself and he even took over peach 's castle so I am actually glad that he died he deserved it
3:44 This is the best part, no questions asked. Luigi’s voice sounds really serious and he is basically saying that Fawful made a grave error which was that the Mario Brothers always find a way to save the day. He also asked if he was still in there. Fawful has fused with the dark star, absorbed DNAs, been even corrupted by his own thoughts and goals and so he is way different to the first time we encounter him back in SuperStar Saga (Or technically Partners in Time because the baby brothers can talk to him while they are… well babies)
"I've conquered galaxies. Now I've stepped down to see, If a shadow can bleed!" Behold! The King of Koopas! The dragon of the Mushroom Kingdom! One who will not bow to those who threaten his reign! His ambitions dwarfed only by his iron will and determination! Look on, and meet your despair, as you fight not some hapless wanderer, nor craven buffoon, but the future ruler of all that he sees!

To answer the question Chuggaa asked: yes, based on the dialogue after the fight, I do think _some_ remnant of Fawful is left in there. How much there is, is up for debate.
The man gave everything to the dark power. He was fully prepared to win
"I have conquered galaxies- now I step down to see if a shadow can bleed"
I LOVE this line so much. Maybe it's me reading too far into this, but the use of "step down" after his proclamation is super cool. It's like Bowser's saying that this fight is below him. Like he's just taking a breather from his typical work.
Bowser: By all rights, this is a waste of my time. But you're an uppity little vermin, so I wanna see what you look like in pain

They sound so good together!
It’s not actually Mario singing there, it’s fawful singing with the bro’s, because he is trying to break away from the dark embrace of the dark star, he only wanted revenge, but the dark star took everything away from him, especially his sanity. But it’s awesome
Caden Morgan it is Mario tho... no ones cast as fawful

2:27 I love how he says "stepped down to see" implying the fight is beneath him.
You represented that Perfectly Oh my Glob
Bowser figured out no shadows could not bleed

- I have fallen...
3:44 This has a meaning behind this. If you saw chuggaconroy video he mentions this cover and talks about this specific lyric mentioning how far Fawful has gone that the dark star took control basically killing him
The DS version of this game will always have a very special place in my heart, because it's the first game I can remember that I really paid attention to the soundtrack of, completed 100%, and went through again just to experience everything all over
I've BASICALLY 100% completed it. Max rank, beat all the boss rematches, ect. Except I'm missing like 4 beans.
The DS version of this game also has a special place in my heart because it was the first Mario and Luigi game I ever played
I can’t stop watching this. Mario and luigis harmonizing is just so beautiful

I was already considering rewatching this after Chuggaa's video, but when he mentioned this song DURING the final battle, that just solidified my decision. So like many others have commented, hello from Chuggaaconroy's channel!
“Inside the hearts of man I see the darkness beckoning,
You deal with a power far beyond your reckoning.”
Oh.
*My god.*
First of all, the voice effect on Dark Bowser and the almost opera-like tone gave me the chills.
Sounds more like him trying to pump himself up. He's weakened and faltering but he's trying to stay defiant.

@Goomboomer Gamer So would I.
5:16 I love how bowser's voice seems to slowly overpower dark bowser's here, it's a nice touch
Thank you
Update: not completely sure since the doctors weren’t clear but my dad is cancer free. Thank you all for the support!

(Also, the reason I wrote this was because Fawful, himself, wasn’t specifically credited in the description or video haha.)
(Also this song is super good and god do I love this song)
Funnily enough, in both this version and Juno's version of the song, Luigi points this out, and at the same parts of the song:
"If you're still in there, Fawful, know you still made one mistake"/"The darkness went straight to your head, you've lost who you are, Fawful"
That’s a nice theory you’ve got there
*lays down*
*Tries not to cry*
*Cries*
...As if I needed a reason to love Fawful more, here we are
Well, beloved isn't a good description. If you played the bowsers minions in the remaster of Superstar saga, he actually planned to betray her via the mechawful factory in the final battle
Came back here after Chuggaaconroy mentioned it in the finale of his playthrough
Their will and power in tandem, in their final stand for all they know and cherish about the world, for all the light in it; their "starlight and powers combined."
Verse 4: In The Final.
They finally understand one another, and nothing can separate that bond, to drive away the darkness and "bring the light back to all."
it's canon that Bowser didn't know the brothers were inside him, though. great analysis nonetheless
Epic
@@brodycoffey910 he means anger
Such a perfect explanation, nice job
I also really love how Bowser takes over the Dark Star's chorus in Verse 4. It really feels like he's shoving the Dark Star aside and saying "Hey! You're not the villain of the Mario games, I AM!"
I never realized how powerful the line “I will put you back in the ground was” because not only is it a great insult, it also references how the dark star was sealed underground until it was woken up by fawful
Wait, really?. I remember it fell off a meteorite or something.
No, I’m not sure what you are thinking of but it was originally found underground and the toads dug it up, then it caused chaos to the mushroom kingdom the star sprites sealed it away underground in a safer location until fawful found it and woke it up

Oh god oh fuck!
simp-slayer6 yeah
I mean Bowser has literally been thrown into lava on multiple occasions. I think he would be okay. At most he'll be knocked out for a bit.
@@goldturtleking3967 yea im pretty sure dry Bowser doesn't have a hearth or any organs and Bowser can still be dry Bowser
Even if he was crushed, the bros managed to get him up and running in his giant form.
A better one at to phrase the last part:
Even the darkest sky can't hide the brightest fire.
Even in the darkest of times, a light will always rise to overcome it
Darkness is just the absence of light
i think that is the SOUL reason why not only dark bowser NOT ONLY the dark star (twice) BUT all that and fawful as well... bowser may look evil but he's not he's just a father and a hero on the inside (and im not talking about mario and luigi) he may hate the plumbers but we all see through that bad guy act he's just a (somewhat) caring father, a strong and determined koopa with a bright fire inside his soul... and a true hero in all our hearts...

The Mario and Luigi series is easilly the best incarnation of the series. Mario and Luigi's personalities are on full show, and it highlights that while both Bros are heroes in their own right, they still need one another to truly succeed.
