I love how MotI's version has Bowser saying all these grandiose lines "Now I step down to see if a shadow can bleed" and Juno's just has him say really immature and petty insults. Both work really well, leaning into different sides of his character. He can be both silly, but also pretty intimidating.
The best part is that Juno's portrayal of Bowser is childish and narcissistic while MotI's portrayal is imposing and downright evil, which both are fitting to his character

I absolutely love the use of repeating lyrics in this. When the Dark Star says "Who are you" it's doing a classical evil villain monologue. Who are these puny mortals, to get in the way of an arcane force that's been around for centuries? When Bowser says "Who are you" he's spitting in the face of some copycat schmuck who's touting their own ego. He's the Koopa King, and no one's going to stand in his way, dark god or not. And when the Mario Bros say "Who are you", they're saying that Fawful and the Dark Star have NO RIGHT to destroy the Kingdom's peace. It's great lyric writing. Honestly, this song is just fantastic, a great tribute to this channel's 5 years.
Don't forget the "Who are you" during the key change. It's Bowser saying "Who are you to believe yourself that you had a ghost of a chance to beat yours truly?" He's the Koopa King and won't let some schmucking copycat take his name and face and get away with it. One single KO punch was enough to make his point clear. Never mess with the King of the Koopas.
Seeing and hearing the difference of the same song 4 years apart really makes me smile to see how far Juno has come not just as a singer or an artist, but as a person.

Actually 🤓 in Mario and Luigi Dream Team, the dream stone ONLY grants wishes you truly want. At the end of the game, Bowser wished for Mario and Luigi to disappear. Notice how the dream stone just did nothing..... he doesn't want to beat Mario.....
I love the back and forth between Bowser and Dark Bowser like it's a slugfest. DB has RPG final boss speeches down to an art, and Bowser basically drew a cartoonishly large moustache on the Mona Lisa out of ego. Mario's and Luigi's parts were good but that last key change from Bowser really crowned him the true champ of this Grand Finale.
because unlike before, where he is the big bad final boss, he is THE PROTOGANIST of his own game, and this is HIS GREATEST MOMENT. the final boss is all him, this is the monster that born from Darkstar stealing his DNA, and Pride of the KOOPA KING does not allow any imposters or usurpers, which Dark Bowser tried both. this is HIS GRAND FINALE, and he will beat you down, and sing on your grave while doing it.
Not sure if Juno will notice this... But even with the remaster, both Juno and MOTI's covers of The Grand Finale are both very amazing. Both with strengths and weaknesses. Both with amazing voice acting and amazing artwork. Both well written to the very core. Finally, both has Bowser being badass in this final showdown. In conclusion, I respect both covers and they both deserve recognition.
I saw both covers a long time ago when they had just come out, but I never finished the game and never saw either of them again so this is giving me a lot of flashbacks lol
I will always prefer the Mario and Luigi version of Bowser. He isn't dramatic, just confident and believes he can do basically anything without a doubt.
Bowser in normal games: "oh no you threw me in lava peach is yours I lost again" Bowser in M&L dream team: "oh, you thought that Antasma guy was the final boss? Too bad, the dream stone is mine and all my wishes shall come true."
The added lines to show Dark Bowser's arrogance, The changes to Bowser's to make him even more confident and proud, That _grand finale_ with the key change as Bowser taunts DB before finally finishing it... Even a smaller change like having Fawful cry out as he's defeated had *ME* yelling out! This is MORE than a worthy remaster. Its a reMASTERPIECE!

It's so wild that you make all your own art. I loved how both Castle Bowser and Peach were drawn in Rage Stage, but here? The framing, the poses, the EVERYTHING! All the new art is so good, and the final shot of Bowser holding Dark Bowser by the throat is so RAW!

Now that's an upgrade. I know more versions can exist, but this one can actually stand up to MOTI. Now both versions are really great. Also nice to hear the references to the MOTI Version in the Mario Bros.

Of course, Dark bowser is just that, a dark copy of the Great Koopa King. him taking the form of Bowser is both a compliment to bowser, because hey, imitation is the biggest flattery, and the GREATEST insult you can ever direct to Big Bad BOWSER. and because he is made by his dna, he can not defeat Bowser.
honestly, this is a great take on lyrics. bowser's throwing playground insults like a cartoon character, and he has zero fear of his dark copy. outright bullying him while mario and luigi are taking this seriously, but still with an air of comedy, fitting for the literal mario bros. dark bowser keeps trying to pull his dark god shtick, but just gets cut off completely so bowser can flex on him more. kickass!
Juno made this song go insanely hard but still has the comedy from Bowser. Bowser's voice is just incredible and crazy that you could sing in that voice. The final piece of art just looks amazing with the rain. Amazing job.
Bowser has always been my favorite character in Mario games and i feel 2:05 explains this entirely. You pretty much just captured bowser's entire personality in a couple lines absolutely insane and i love it good work

This is easily my favorite DX version ever published on this channel, especially with how you incorporated new bits then doubled down and added a whole end bit with a key change. Excited for the potential of any future DX covers assuming more come out down the line.
I said it once, I'll say it again. This is the one moment in the eyes of the Mushroom Kingdom where Bowser is the true hero. Disregard his intentions. Forget why he's there. A Toad is floating up at the tip of the arena looking down at the beast that caused the windstorm, and what does he see fighting this thing to the end? Bowser, the Koopa King. NOT Mario and Luigi. God almighty, I wish Peach was awake to see this, as she certainly would have given Bowser so much more credit for the Kingdom's salvation than she did already.
The finale of this finale was easily one of the best moments in any of the songs shown from the stream. The best DX song you’ve made Juno, hope you can have a good rest after Bowsember!
After the rager that was Bowser's Rage Stage, this was very much a welcome surprise, and an extreme source of hype! I mean, this song's got it all! *New Lyrics! *A new Bowser insult *All the classic Bowser insults *_*THE KEY CHANGE!_* And the lead-up was beyond amazing! I mean, the part where the chat gave Bowser the Bowser power to take down his dark doppelganger felt like we were holding Miracle Lights at a Pretty Cure movie! Simply put, this is beyond "peak". This is *_GODLIKE!_*

Somehow, every time you or MotI comes out with a new version of this song, I find a new favorite version. This would be a fun thing to go back and forth on like you did with megalovania, but I doubt that’d ever happen. Congrats on the anniversary man, I hope you stick around for a while.
That line "The koopa king will never die, never die, NEVER DIE!" it's so true, no matter how many times he gets beaten by mario, he will always get up and try again, no matter how frustrating is, he never gives up, this is why bowser is one of the greatest villains ever.

There's something so genius about using the in-game punch at 6:35 as a transitional frame to the art of Bowser holding Dark Bowser by his throat for the Big Finish.
Seeing Juno improve in song and art along with bringing ArcherOwl for more art just shows how much he's improved, well done both of you for this music piece.
I like to headcanon that _all_ three versions "happened" to Bowser (both Juno's and MOTI's covers), and the Spamton fight was in between, so Bowser's just got some serious pent-up rage after the Spamton fight, and seeing Fawful "back for round three" just made him _Ascend to the Done Tiers_ and be like "no, you're not happening a THIRD time, go away", and that's why he sounds so more energetic in this remastering. I wasn’t able to see the live premiere of the full package, BUT GOOD LORD as soon as this song came up at the end I was bouncing and jamming in my seat the whole way through!! And my god- THAT KEY CHANGE ENDING???? It was just SPECTACULAR!! I had a whole sequence in my mind of the fight being on a massive stage, us viewers cheering Bowser on and helping with the positive energy- was just so much fun to watch and had me smiling the whole way through!!
As much as I thought Dark Immunity was coming, what we got was EVEN BETTER, the SMUCKAGE, the KEY CHANGE, it was PERFECT, a BEAUTY OF A ANNIVERSARY GIFT fit for a KING! Great job juno, don't let the people that are comparing other creators to you get you down!

I've been hyped for this ever since it appeared as the Bowsember finale. This was absolutely epic. The remastered vocals, the inclusion of Dark Bowser (which the original didn't have) and Bowser's finale verse with his dark duplicate in his grasp was just breathtaking. The message of this song is true; the Koopa King (and Juno's spot on adaptation of him) will never DIE!

Definitely one of your finest remakes yet. I had an idea where at the end Dark Bowser says "What ARE you?" as he's in utter disbelief at being defeated, then Bowser responds with "I am Bowser. King of the koopas... and the strongest being in the Mushroom Kingdom! Now get cooked!"

honestly, this is a great take on lyrics. bowser's throwing playground insults like a cartoon character, and he has zero fear of his dark copy. outright bullying him while mario and luigi are taking this seriously, but still with an air of comedy, fitting for the literal mario bros. dark bowser keeps trying to pull his dark god shtick, but just gets cut off completely so bowser can flex on him more. kickass!
Juno made this song go insanely hard but still has the comedy from Bowser. Bowser's voice is just incredible and crazy that you could sing in that voice. The final piece of art just looks amazing with the rain. Amazing job.
Bowser has always been my favorite character in Mario games and i feel 2:05 explains this entirely. You pretty much just captured bowser's entire personality in a couple lines absolutely insane and i love it good work

This is the one moment in the eyes of the Mushroom Kingdom where Bowser is the true hero. Disregard his intentions. Forget why he's there. A Toad is floating up at the tip of the arena looking down at the beast that caused the windstorm, and what does he see fighting this thing to the end? Bowser, the Koopa King. NOT Mario and Luigi. God almighty, I wish Peach was awake to see this, as she certainly would have given Bowser so much more credit for the Kingdom's salvation than she did already.

I've been hyped for this ever since it appeared as the Bowsember finale. This was absolutely epic. The remastered vocals, the inclusion of Dark Bowser (which the original didn't have) and Bowser's finale verse with his dark duplicate in his grasp was just breathtaking. The message of this song is true; the Koopa King (and Juno's spot on adaptation of him) will never DIE!

Definitely one of your finest remakes yet. I had an idea where at the end Dark Bowser says "What ARE you?" as he's in utter disbelief at being defeated, then Bowser responds with "I am Bowser. King of the koopas... and the strongest being in the Mushroom Kingdom! Now get cooked!"
