I love how MotI's version has Bowser saying all these grandiose lines "Now I step down to see if a shadow can bleed" and Juno's just has him say really immature and petty insults. Both work really well, leaning into different sides of his character. He can be both silly, but also pretty intimidating.

The best part is that Juno's portrayal of Bowser is childish and narcissistic while MotI's portrayal is imposing and downright evil, which both are fitting to his character

I love how Bowser specifically tells Dark Bowser (and I guess Dark Star and Fawful by extension) that his “name is not among those who could best his Koopa might”. He acknowledges that there are people in the world that can challenge and even beat him *cough* Mario *cough* But he’s also making very sure to tell this shadowy little wannabe of a villain is NOT among those who come even close to defeating him.

Actually 🤓 in Mario and Luigi Dream Team, the dream stone ONLY grants wishes you truly want. At the end of the game, Bowser wished for Mario and Luigi to disappear. Notice how the dream stone just did nothing..... he doesn't want to beat Mario.....

But even with the remaster, both Juno and MOTI's covers of The Grand Finale are both very amazing. Both with strengths and weaknesses. Both with amazing voice acting and amazing artwork. Both well written to the very core. Finally, both has Bowser being badass in this final showdown.
In conclusion, I respect both covers and they both deserve recognition.

I love the back and forth between Bowser and Dark Bowser like it's a slugfest. DB has RPG final boss speeches down to an art, and Bowser basically drew a cartoonishly large moustache on the Mona Lisa out of ego. Mario's and Luigi's parts were good but that last key change from Bowser really crowned him the true champ of this Grand Finale.
because unlike before, where he is the big bad final boss, he is THE PROTOGANIST of his own game, and this is HIS GREATEST MOMENT. the final boss is all him, this is the monster that born from Darkstar stealing his DNA, and Pride of the KOOPA KING does not allow any imposters or usurpers, which Dark Bowser tried both. this is HIS GRAND FINALE, and he will beat you down, and sing on your grave while doing it.

I absolutely love the use of repeating lyrics in this. When the Dark Star says "Who are you" it's doing a classical evil villain monologue. Who are these puny mortals, to get in the way of an arcane force that's been around for centuries? When Bowser says "Who are you" he's spitting in the face of some copycat schmuck who's touting their own ego. He's the Koopa King, and no one's going to stand in his way, dark god or not. And when the Mario Bros say "Who are you", they're saying that Fawful and the Dark Star have NO RIGHT to destroy the Kingdom's peace. It's great lyric writing. Honestly, this song is just fantastic, a great tribute to this channel's 5 years.
Don't forget the "Who are you" during the key change. It's Bowser saying "Who are you to believe yourself that you had a ghost of a chance to beat yours truly?" He's the Koopa King and won't let some schmucking copycat take his name and face and get away with it. One single KO punch was enough to make his point clear. Never mess with the King of the Koopas.

But Bowser on the other hand, kupo... *looks to Adventure's End, this remake, and the original Grand Finale* Bowser is one to show off, kupo.
@@guardianboreal1432 I'd like to butt in and say he literally is the only villain to my knowledge that does sing in ML. Plus there's another cover that came out a few months ago (In the Final with Lyrics) that I think did a good job with giving him lyrics without making his mannerisms "too much".

This is the one moment in the eyes of the Mushroom Kingdom where Bowser is the true hero. Disregard his intentions. Forget why he's there. A Toad is floating up at the tip of the arena looking down at the beast that caused the windstorm, and what does he see fighting this thing to the end? Bowser, the Koopa King. NOT Mario and Luigi. God almighty, I wish Peach was awake to see this, as she certainly would have given Bowser so much more credit for the Kingdom's salvation than she did already.

Little did I know I'd be back here in 2024 rocking out one of my all-time favorites, perfection reigns supreme with the Koopa's power once more, well done Juno, giving the Grand Finale a well-deserved encore!
I like to headcanon that _all_ three versions "happened" to Bowser (both Juno's and MOTI's covers), and the Spamton fight was in between, so Bowser's just got some serious pent-up rage after the Spamton fight, and seeing Fawful "back for round three" just made him _Ascend to the Done Tiers_ and be like "no, you're not happening a THIRD time, go away", and that's why he sounds so more energetic in this remastering. He's already been there done that and is pissed he has to "how many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man" Dark Bowser's face in _again._

Somehow, every time you or MotI comes out with a new version of this song, I find a new favorite version. This would be a fun thing to go back and forth on like you did with megalovania, but I doubt that’d ever happen. Congrats on the anniversary man, I hope you stick around for a while.

That line "The koopa king will never die, never die, NEVER DIE!" it's so true, no matter how many times he gets beaten by mario, he will always get up and try again, no matter how frustrating is, he never gives up, this is why bowser is one of the greatest villains ever.
This is easily my favorite DX version ever published on this channel, especially with how you incorporated new bits then doubled down and added a whole end bit with a key change. Excited for the potential of any future DX covers assuming more come out down the line.

Bowser has always been my favorite character in Mario games and i feel 2:05 explains this entirely. You pretty much just captured bowser's entire personality in a couple lines absolutely insane and i love it good work

Best Mario Game Music FOREVER
I LOVE the shared lyric between all three

It is far better than the original I'd say, I really like Dark Bowser's lines as they reflect the Dark Star's twist on Bowser's personality, Bowser's pride. The voice and word choice make all the difference already. The voice is much more ethereal, sounding more elegant and flowing - it has enough of an alien touch but enough Bowser-characteristic to really sound what I imagine Dark Bowser to sound like! Perfect RPG Boss vibes here.
While Bowser's Lyrics are extremely well made for the most part, I do find though that some of Bowser's lines grow stale by the second verse. The lines are certainly not bad, for my personal taste some are simply a bit too surface level in some regards - some are not clever (from Bowser's perspective) and the repetition kills them. That is at least how i feel about them
Generally, I think that would have been more interesting if the two would have some more direct word exchanges, they are basically just monologuing in the presence of each other but at least in between the verses there was an attempt at it, a humorous one at that.
In the end, it is a really really good piece of art - The personalities are well portrayed, it is really solid writing as always, the artwork is incredible, and the greatest addition; THE KEY CHANGE.
WOW, that surprised me, blew my mind, and was brilliantly executed! The writing here is by far the best with lines like “Your name is not among those who could best my Koopa might”, even better than Dark Bowser's Lyrics, it is epic, tense, personal and in your face!

Absolutely beautiful….I remember watching the original cover you did a couple years ago and recently wondering with all the new remastered versions you were doing if you could possibly one up the last masterpiece…and for me you truly did…the lyrics for dark bowser, fawful screaming, THE KEYCHANGE, everything was just amazingly made and executed…this truly was the grand finale

I love the line "The King's in his prime", as bowser states a few times during the early game that he wasn't in his prime when loosing a few times.

Even as a kid I really wished that we got to see Bowser fighting that pretended to a standstill while Mario and Luigi were destroying the Dark Star. While that’s *never* stopped me from having that as a headcanon it really would have cemented that they were fighting together. Even if Bowser didn’t know it he was saving the world alongside the Mario Bros… as a protagonist. The name “Bowser’s Inside Story” comes from how he was the protagonist of this game *independently* from the plumbers and that’s why things like this were the closest he got to fighting alongside them. In other RPGs where he’s “a protagonist” he’s rarely less of a sidekick than Luigi but here he never once was second fiddle to *anybody.* Because he’s the Koopa King and *nobody* can replicate his glory!

I remember back in January 2020 when I saw The Grand Finale with Lyrics and introduced me to this amazing channel! The original was so good and this remaster is even better! Thanks for sharing your talent to us all Juno!!!
This whole battle is basically a new kid trying his darnedest to copy the resident cool kid’s whole flow, but doesn’t really get what that flow is, *and* doesn’t realize that there’s only room for one cool kid on the campus, and said cool kid doesnt take kindly to copycats.

I don't this is intentional for the song but playing through the game just yesterday made me realize that Luigi got braver through the game for this final battle. Now in this song he sings just as confident as mario. Love it

I've been hyped for this ever since it appeared as the Bowsember finale. This was absolutely epic. The remastered vocals, the inclusion of Dark Bowser (which the original didn't have) and Bowser's finale verse with his dark duplicate in his grasp was just breathtaking. The message of this song is true; the Koopa King (and Juno's spot on adaptation of him) will never DIE!
I love this remake. Especially since now it's a rap battle between Bowser and Dark Bowser
