Considering its huge price difference to other expensive one like the Gmaster Lenses, this $118 lens definitely is an option especially to those freelancers that are on a tight budget. love this content, keep it up brother!
I love how the lens is way better than the generic 16-50mm sony lenses which does feel cheap. I've been using the sony lens for a while and it already feels loose on the focus ring. And as you said... as cinematographers we should use manual focus as much as we can. In my opinion the lens would be a good practice for future lol
I have seen plenty of reviews comparing Sigma 16mm vs this lens, and your video made me finalise my decision to buy this 17mm masterpiece on a budget. I mainly plan to buy it for a back up for night VLog when needed for my Canon M6 MKII, for which I already have 22mm EM F2
Definitely gonna check out getting this lens!I love my Tamron 17-28 2.8 but in low light it would be nice to have that 1.4. Keep up the amazing content man!
Seriously , I think this lens is great brother .Plus the imperfection from the lens gives a nice characteristics to the digital look of video and photo .
I bought the 17, 35 and 50 of these a couple months back when my friend lent me his NEX-6 to nudge me back into photography. Needless to say it worked and I got an a7r2 & tamrons 28-75 2.8 and it's superb (and more is coming) but I've been looking for a practical reason to hang onto at least one of them and this seems to fit the bill. Thanks for making this video, definitely going to give it a try.
Wow, thank you for this information, this lens is good for us who are always on a tight budget. I think this lens does the job. I am loving the images you shot with the TTartisans 17mm 1.4, that vintage look looks really great and I am a big fan of that look. Thank you and I always enjoy your tutorials.
prolly one of the best solution for anyone who want to try out manual focus and do not know how to choose a vintage lens. bang for your bucks and it has fast aperture!
Loved the video brother. I brought one of these and i was blown away as a noob, its nice to know it passes mustard with a professional like yourself. I use mine for live streaming and the result are nuts :)
Images and video look great even with the inexpensive lens. I'm starting to shoot video more often as I'm trying to capture memorable moments in life. You make it look easy honestly, great to take some inspiration from!
Great video. Since you’re not using Super35 mode on the A7IV does that mean it’s effectively still roughly a 17mm? (Not at 25.5mm like when using a Sony APSC camera)
Hi, how do you correct the fish eye distortion? With the built in option or on post? Also do you crop to have this beautiful retangular image at the end? Thanks!
fix my next lens purchase!! since 1st time seeing spec i'm in love but some reviewer out there didn't gave a nice review so i had doubt after seeing what it look actually from your video i cleared my mind i take this one instead of vintage lens (yes some of vintage lens are beast, but marketplace around me doesn't had nice condition of vintage lens)
Victooooooooor! I'm looking for a wide angle lens for my sony A7RIII what do u recommend the aps-c 17mm 1.4 or the full frame 21mm 1.5 (both are ttartisan)
Hey Alvaro! I would really suggest getting a full frame 21mm 1.5! one so you don't have to crop especially with the A7Riii. High resolution you want coverage! If you want something with AF, viltrox 24mm is a great alternative to it!
Quick question for anyone using the lens, I've got an EF-M mount canon M200 that I mostly use as a webcam via hdmi out for streaming, I'm hesitating between this lens and the sigma any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
If it’s for streaming, I’ll suggest the sigma because of autofocus for the face. If you’re setting the manually focus on your streams then the ttartisans work well 🙏🏽
@@VictorLaforteza cool cool! I really wanna try it out. So, to get rid off vignette I just have to keep steady shot on yeah? Will this be the same solution for Sony a7III?
"This little thing actually produces quite great images. But how?" - Because you have a lot of experience and great skills ;)Thanks for the beautiful review, I think it will be useful for many people in choosing a budget wide-angle lens. p.s. Very interesting blue highlights, partially reminiscent of an anamorphic lens (on mic in the frames with you) ? Can you please tell, if this is a Pro Mist filter?
hahahah! I'm just your friendly neighbourhood camera youtube guy. Glad someone noticed the blue highlight steaks! It's an effect on davinci resolve. Lens reflections is what it's called and it simulates anamorphic flares. Kinda cool if you put it subtly on the footage!
Saw the video samples with this lens and fell in love. Ordered it immediately and can't wait for it to arrive! This, along with my Sigma 30mm f1.4, will serve me well. Thanks for the video!
@@hologramma Yup!! the peaking takes the sharpest part of the image being translated into the sensor so it doesn't need to communicate with the lens with it. Focus mapping won't work I believe since it has to be a Sony lens.

Always 😂😂😂 and I don't know why.
The a7iv is a beast of a system for hybrid shooters. And at the price, the lense produces stunning images!!
Not bad right?! So cool for a 118 dollar lens.

You are very right.
Thank you brother! It is definitely worth using. Definitely will always have their quirks but it's easy to manage!

Manual focus is the way to go! Can invoke emotions and help the story along the way!!

Totally agree brother! digital look is way too sharp!!
I love that combo especially since I’ve adjusted my A7IV to shoot more film-like and less digital 🙌🏽
YESSS. Film like is way better. Embrace the grain lol

Thanks for watching, Aaron! It is great even with it's flaws just take some time to get used to it! Vintage vibes is 🔥
The 35mm 1.4 is very good too
And Even cheaper

Right on man!! Glad to know you're really getting value from such an affordable lens!
Awesome review. Thanks for sharing.

Woah, glad I clicked on this video, video quality is on point!!
Glad to hear it! thanks for watching Kent!
on point quality ✌️👍. May I get to know where can I find those light leaks overlays that your use on transition?
Thank you! I got them from Artlist :)

The little moments in life is the best footage to capture :) It's always nice to look back to.
In love with all shots s2
I love that lens. Awesome review. Thanks for sharing.
wow! As a lens /body combo, I like the overall weight of it - looks really portable!
Yeah! can easily fit into my 3L Sling bag. If they made a new a7Cii I would gladly rock that combo!

I would say it's around 1.2x crop. It would be around 20mm! which is still pretty wide!
This Lense looks pretty awesome!
Hi, how do you correct the fish eye distortion? With the built in option or on post? Also do you crop to have this beautiful retangular image at the end? Thanks!
Lens distortion adjustments :) and yes cropping for that cine scope aspect ratio!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
hi! how great would footage look on the zv-e10?
It’ll look similar as long as you expose great!
Should I buy this lens to make videos using Sony zve10 body? Please reply ❤
I want to make dance short videos for RUclips & Instagram reels.❤❤
You should get a lens with autofocus
Looks very filmic! I doesn't have that digital look that the 7k sensor of the IV has.
It really makes it more organic!
fix

Great to hear! I actually don't remember the name haha! It's right behind one of the Taipei 101 exits.
This is not full-frame lens. Can I attach this lens without an adaptor in a7iv ?
Yeah
Your color grading is just nuts
Thanks, Sean!
