Phil smiled more during this show than he did in the entire 80s and 90s with the Dead.
Because him and Jill were making 90% of the billing
Seeing Phil and friends tomorrow in Milwaukee-can't wait!!
Great sound and video on this. Phil always picked the right friends!
I had the pleasure of speaking with Mark Karan once and he is just a cool and down to earth dude... A very talented group of friends they are indeed! Thanks Phil!
Phil and molo for days
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
Molo is really enjoying the gig!
Mi ok, you read my mind!!!! Mark karan has a great voice and sound! Totally agree about ratdog, they always had a fresh sound for the old songs and variety with stuff of their own and covers from other artists.
Karan with Phil, nice!

Well I've heard/seen quite a lot of Dead. This is really great stuff. Karan-Greene solos on Franklin's Tower. Really incredible... are they still friends? :-)
2018!
I keep listening, What a great band
First set - Dueling Gibsons
Second set - Dueling Strats
Dancing know
Phil bombs heal
Stay off those Quaaludes!
i dont know why MARK KARAN is such an underappreciated guitar player. the worst mistake BOB ever made was trading MK for SK. i love KIMOCK but RATDOG with MK was the best post GD band. obviously this is my opinion and i'm in the minority but this show right here illustrates that when MARK KARAN is on stage its his world and we're just living in it.....thanks for the upload.
+mi ok Really man even better than the Other Ones summer 98 which had both? That has always been my fav post jerry band.
+mi ok but hell yeah Mark kicks ass just told someone last I wish theyd bring him back
+jei2574 that was a great band for a few shows. but RATDOG kept evolving the music. They were the same band for hundreds of shows. They wrote and developed new songs and took the old songs out for a spin. And they brought back some of the old forgotten songs and absolutely nailed them. All those other bands Phil and friends and furthur and other ones were great sounding bands but they were revolving bands of all stars. nothing new, no continuity, no chemistry. It wasnt their fault cuz you dont get all that unless you play together for awhile .....
+mi ok Mark was replaced by Kimock out of necessity. Karan was really suffering on and off with his cancer...
Mark came back after his cancer stronger than ever. then RaTdog went on hiatus because of furthur. When ratdog came back Bobby hired Kimmock instead. But Mark was healthy as a horse.
Anche dopo la scomparsa di Garcia, ascolto volentieri Further, Bob Weir, etc...è rimasta una buona dose di Magia, Lorenzo
Oh interesting....... had karan subbed out for Larry campbell......
So somebody plzz who s that keybord player .
Steve Molitz from Particle Theory
@@stevenwernli3933 my first time seeing him ,, so its been 12 years since this has he got any high lites to take notice of since then . THKs.
1:58:00 Jackie Greene eats a banana on stage.
Best comment ever:)
Robert Noble ......what a joke. Like that chooch can't wait an hour to eat a banana .
Is this Phil Spector?
The pre-furthur days weren't that great.
Not my fav era of guitar players with Phil
Hopefully the next time Phil has a transplant, its for a new voice box.
Not funny
Beaver fans ,u never know where they ll show up .
How pathetic that the lead guitarist has to read sheet music... on stage with Phil Lesh... like using training wheels in the Tour De France....
