Had to come back to this. Phil was so great at welcoming other performers into the Grateful Dead tent. The outpouring of love for Phil by so many of those artists in the last week has been inspirational and has convinced me that his greatest musical legacy may not actually be his time in the Grateful Dead but, what he did in the post -Jerry years. In setting out to go Further, he proved that the true power of the Grateful Dead is that it is eternal and infinite. Now He's Gone, and someday, we all will be too, but long after our time on this planet has ended, there will be people playing Grateful Dead music. Thank you Phil, for putting your arm around us all and leading us to places we never imagined....and goddamn if that Kimock slide guitar Wolfmans Brother doesn't sound just as fucking good 25 years later

One of the early reviews of this show (it might have been on Nugs.net) mentions that the Viola jam got so intense that one of the roadies had to step away from it to smoke a cigarette. It was one of the first things I read about this run. At the time, I wasn’t even aware that these shows were even happening. An ex stopped by to help paint the bedroom of a house I had just moved into. She handed me a tape and said, “you might like this.” It was one of those “Wow!” moments. It was a great soundtrack to paint a room, and I’ll always remember the excitement I had while learning about & listening to this run. Fun to revisit every once in a while.

You're welcome! I had been looking for these three shows everywhere and I could find pieces of them all over RUclips but nobody had the entire weekend in one shot. I credit BH for the DVDs and many others for giving me all the songs to finally create and archive this.

Trey's got that fluid Zappa phrasing going on...

Not too familiar with Zappa. Any recomendations of particular Zappa pieces with flowing phrasing would be greatly appreciated. Just post any links you can think of here and i'll check back. Thanks in advance

Question...When Jerry Garcia died, did he become Obione Kenobe or something?...The force is strong in these ones!

Haha nice, yeah sure sounds like it sometimes. No doubt Garcia spent lots of time playing and mastering tone with Kimock. As for Trey i'm sure they spent a good amount of time together, at least that's what i'd like to believe.
