This is one of the best Pixel Watch reviews I've seen. I've been a Pixel users since the 2 came out and have always wanted a smart watch, but didn't want to spend the money on a Samsung that wouldn't let me use all the features. So I never bought one. I finally decided to pickup the Pixel Watch yesterday (I know the 2 is coming out soon, but I'm fine with being a generation behind) and I love it so far. It's extremally intuitive for a person who's never used a smart watch before; and as someone who doesn't wear watches in general, it's very comfortable. Super happy with my purchase, it looks slick and does exactly what I want it to do.

I just got this watch the other day and I love it. The only issues I have are the bands. The one on it when the watch came was far too small and the second larger band is still too small and the last notch barely works and isn't comfortable. The only other issues kind of go together. The battery wears down way too fast with any face that has animations or there is a lot of constant tracking going on and the battery doesn't last like my last watch who could go for days with an always on face with animations and constant tracking of things like weather and heart rate.
This are my opinions and I am a 54 yr old woman who mostly wanted a phone for health reasons. I only use Fitbit for a few things but I hate it compared to what was on my other watch and the corresponding app on the phone.

nice review, right to the point and what I like is that finally somebody just talking about the experience of the pixel watch and not like most of the experts youtubers always making or compare it to the apple watch. it is about the android ecosystem and that's it. great analysist...continue with the job....

I got a free Pixel watch with my 7 Pro. Ive only recently begun using it and I'm impressed. I particularly like going to the pub without my phone wearing just my watch so that I don't lose my phone when drunk 😂 I've tweaked my settings to get the best battery life but without being paired to my phone, my watch lasts around 6 hours connected to LTE. Thanks for your personal opinion as they're very useful when deciding on my next move. I think I'll definitely go for the Pixel 8 Pro bundled with a free Pixel Watch 2.

Here's a thought, be able to view cameras from your home security system on your watch display

Starting with Galaxy 3, Samsung ruined the style of their watches. I started with Active 2, upgraded to the 4 when I had battery issues, never felt the same love for the 4 & went back to the Active 2 just for the body style.

I love the idea of integrated smart watches. but no matter how awesome it is, I can't get into a smart atch that won't last at least 2-3 days off the charger. I typically never take off my watches day or night, so I tend to go for "dumb" watches that will track most of the stuff I need my watch to do, like, heartrate sensor, gps for running/cycling, multi-day battery life, vibration notification for texts/calls, and silent alarm to wake me.
glad these are getting better, but please wake me up when it can last a few days

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro easily reaches 3 days of battery 🔋 life.

ps. the usecase for smartwatches are to phase out phones and phase in conversational ai assistant type deals where you just say, do this, and it does it. computer shit can be done at home, everything else, all the out in the world utility can be done on your wrist and we can re engage with the world and pull out over being visually locked into a phone like techno zombies

I’m in a similar position of wanting an Apple Watch while havin an android phone (would love to see the way you utilized it). Did you try using google fit to track your health? Seriously considering the pixel watch 2, hoping google’s next fold has stylus support so I can sunset the duo 2.

For me I am kind of torn between the Pixel watch and the Mobvoi Ticwatch line. I am constrained by price of the device considering my wife and I use Cricket wireless as our cellphone provider. I hope you get to do a review of the Pixel Watch 2 when it is released. I would love to get your thoughts on it.

Going to upgrade my pixel phone to the new pixel phone and I think I'm going to get the watch as well. I've never had a smart watch but I think it's time. I also don't like big watches so that's why I haven't gotten one yet but I like that this one is smaller.

Same story with the Galaxy watch. The pixel watch just doesn't bother me as much. I can even sleep a full night with it on. Maybe you're on to something with the way it sits on a wrist.

I'm new to the Pixel watch. So far I'm still in the learning curve phase. The one aspect that is really bugging me is the battery life. My previous watch was an Amazfit Bip 3 Pro. This was a very inexpensive but actually quite nice watch. I picked this up after my Samsung 3 died two weeks after the warranty ran out and Samsung wouldn't replace it. But I digress. There were many things that were pretty cool about that inexpensive watch. Not the least of which was like 72 hours of battery life. I still don't understand why I had a $40.00 watch that actually did a lot and gave me days of charge. While my $350. Pixel does barely get me a through a day or as the reviewer here has me taking it off frequently to charge things up? Not sure why Google couldn't have done better on this front.

No hourly chime, no seconds, and no angular display? No thanks.
