As of recent days, as a heterosexual woman, I do understand that she has her opinion of the trans community in particular but according to her new book Troubled Blood, she's after bringing up certain parts of history that the LGBTQ Community have been trying to get us to forgive and see past for years even though the story is focused on one character and behaviour that is not acceptable by anyone gay or not which is the point of a horror story/murder mystery but still it can be close to home for most people and they are probably going to put up with more unnecessary abuse possibly from readers that may read the book out of curiosity which is their own choice but it can be psychologically messy and dangerous if it affected the wrong person

The deepness and darkness of grief is what makes these books the enduring success that they are, for it is real grief, and real sadness that permeates everything, even the moments of joy. And that is life, and even children know that.

    • @drea409
      @drea409 11 месяцев назад +3

And the grief is *real*. Even if it's on the page, even if it's in your head, it's still real. Maybe not as much as losing someone you know and love in real life, but you still feel it. The tears are as real as it can get. I cried so much for so many characters. You get to know these characters, these people and animals, and you grow to love them and you feel the pain of it when they die. She's an amazing storyteller

At the start when he asks her the questions, she clearly needs to think about some of the answers. But when he says “what’s your biggest regret?” “That I didn’t keep my mother on the phone longer the last time I spoke to her” that answer was waiting and rolled right off the tongue and it chills me. What a genuine person she is.

There’s such a strange melancholy about her that I can’t fathom. That idea that she has now completed her magnum opus and is happy to leave it behind her, knowing in her mind where her characters got to in life and not feeling like she wants to share it now must take great strength. Something I could never let go as I feel it would break me and I would be forever depressed thinking about those characters left on the last page.

Importantly, she has never forgotten where she came from and remained the same person she was when she started the first book.

Wow, wow, wow! Best interview ever.
It's wonderful how much she let us peek behind the curtain both literally and figuratively. And there's a beautiful person there, truthful to herself, no façade of any sort. There are tons of people who collapsed under the fame, tried to meet the expectations and eventually just copied themselves. It's so sad to see somebody who used to be great anxiously holding onto that little bit of fame left. But not her, she knows she gave her best, all that she got and it was always up to the people to decide.
She needed the moment of revelation, but everybody has great ideas. She just picked it up, believed in it come hell or high water, poverty or sudden riches, love or despair. Any of these could stopped her, but she saw it through. But she persevered for more than a decade, put in all the hard work to carve out her story from her imagination. So few can do that. Bravo. .

Dear Jo, I beg to differ here when You said THAT I GOT LUCKY TO GET THAT IDEA, I think it came naturally to you from all the years of studying and enviornment you were in, the idea was just a reflection of your subconscious mind which started to fall in place like a giant jigzaw puzzle with each and every piece fitting perfectly.
As many people know that you always wanted to be writer and even wrote illustrated stories of a character named rabbit at such a small age of 6, you started to get inclined towards writing from very young age, So the world you have created was can be traced to content which you have been reading for quite a long time like classical literature, middle ages writing, old greek, shakesperian literature etc.
A millions time Thank You for the Harry Potter Books, whenever I feel depresed or sad I would come back to my others friends in the Wizarding world to calm myself.
Lots of Love From India Dear Jo

I've only seen the films at this point, but I still found the story of Harry Potter to be entertaining and look forward to reading the novels in the future. I was not that big of a Harry potter fan at the time the novels and films were coming out (more of a Star Wars fan, personally), but I have come to respect Rowling more in later years and find it amazing how she was able to craft most of the story before even publishing the first novel. Speaking of Star Wars, now that I've learned more about Rowling's writing process and how she protects her work, she does remind me of George Lucas in how he was protective of his work (before Disney took over) and how he had planned out the story and fine tuned it as he went along.

I absolutely LOVE this woman and despite what she may say about the wealth/fortune her books have made ( her guilt complex on having so much wealth )...SHE DESERVES IT ALL & MORE. An inspiration that hard work and self belief can change your life around and YES I KNOW not everyone's life story turns out with a Disney happy ending, luck does play a huge part in each of our lives, why some people get more and others get less despite their efforts & talent. Her books have inspired children & adults to pick up a book and enjoy the pleasure of reading, that in itself is a fantastic legacy to be proud of.

The name Umbridge is a play on the word "umbrage", meaning to take offence / take something personally.

And Dolores is a Spanish name... it's the plural for the word "Pain"
Even though I'm Spanish I actually like the name, I never think of the meaning of the word when I hear it used as a name, but for Umbridge it applies to her cause she's a real pain in the butt lol

You can see the various traits of her characters which she's described, in herself. Wonderful, humble, true, woman. I've actually never read a whole Harry Potter book nor seen the movies. The first one seemed slow & too simple. In this she said she didn't have anywhere near $430M but now she's over a $1billion. Well done to her.

Well she experienced a lot of sad things. Her mother was very ill when she was a teenager, she died when she was just 25, had a terrible short marriage, had to flee with her baby, struggled with depression and poverty. Those things stay with you forever.

Yes, I think she has a naturally quite melancholy and pensive vibe that, I agree, reads as profound sadness sometimes. She can be really funny so seems like she can be fun and good company but yeah, there's a seeming sadness there all the same.

@@phanders6236, I don't think any one does get over that loss when you have the kind of mother and relationship with her that Rowling has described. But I don't think that's it in full.
