Kids looked like they were giving the shop owner a bit of hassle. Best place to be is inside your car, we've got a lot of places like that up here in Glasgow too.
Your truly so awful the way you slag Bĺackpool off. Its a good town compared to other places. Why do feel the nessitity to insult all the areas. You never show all the decent places. Its so unfair.
I bet that is the entire police nightshift tied up at that address. Those little shops should go with a garage shop set up afterdark with hatch service only. Keep the little james blunt's outside.
I lived in Blackpool for a couple of years in the early 1980s and watch your videos with some happy memories and some dismay. I lived in a B&B in Charles Street and then in a flat at the Livingstone Road part of Reads Avenue. The place seems to have changed a lot. I understand there are many more social problems in Blackpool now than then. We used to have a decent enough pint in the Bunch of Grapes (I think it was called) on Market Street. It was near a great independent bookshop. And one called Raikes Progress (I think) on Raikes Parade with pool tables. There was a Beatties shop in Hounds Hill which stocked a good range of Airfix models etc. I had no car then so spent a lot of time walking. I never recalled any real problems even late at night. There was a cinema on Church Street, near Cookson Street, where I can remember watching Blade Runner about fifty times. And swimming baths on Lytham Road ( think) where I learned sub-aqua diving. So, decent memories, but it really appears to have changed.
50 times Blade Runner??? Still, it's an epic movie. I remember Beatties well. The cinema you refer to is The Regent, which is still a working cinema. The baths on Lytham Road was the Lido, and is now an Enterprise centre for small businesses.
Thanks again Stephen for another drive along vlog i used to go to the Brunswick Club many years ago if you weren't early you didn't get in it's changed days now
Can't believe how quiet it seems to say its bank holiday weekend, you are definitely in the right place in your car, thanks for your video always interesting 👍
Just been on the prom and was full of families and a nice turn out, no trouble tonight and everyone seemed quite upbeat. This area has been troubled for sure but looks pretty quiet tonight. Great vids
Great drive thru Stephen. I live in Chorley and there are kids out on the streets all night every night. Its a real problem. I am talking 10 to 16 yr olds.
Really enjoyed your drive about round town and backstreet area. From all the numpties about these days. Not only nite is safe, but prob nite we all have to really be and have our wits about us. Bet you felt more relax and in safety of starbus Stephen ? Plus weather wise or when it gets really bad at least you be warmer, I enjoy all the videos you do, It’s all about your safety too well-being health and what’s right and safety first for you. Look forwards to. More. Videos. Takecare. Di xx
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always im coming for a week tomorrow I can't wait loved that drive there's always someone who wants to cause trouble how stunning does the tower look have a great evening xx
Cant help noticing how less busy Blackpool appears these days - it used to be really congested streetwise, around this time of year but even the nightlife appears subdued . Good that you record the town's history though- its like a social documentary !
Expensive and sadly very much on the slide, more of a day trip area or weekend at tops, a week or fortnight for most families is just too expensive now, and not worth it.
Put it this way, you'd not think it was a bank holiday weekend - it's been shockingly bad. Sign of the times, unfortunately. The constant rail strikes, cost of living, and possibly people are saving for their upcoming winter fuel bills...
Its more thers nothing for familes to do after about 6pm most if not all the merlin attractions close about 5 or 6, the only places after this time for familys are the piers and arcades.
I miss those days. We used to go clubbing until the early hours, then decide to stay over . You could knock on the doors of B&Bs and find one to let you in at 4am .
Very interesting video Stephen. The area you drove round did look a bit doggy even though the houses looked quite nice. Saw the bloke on the bike overtake you and cycled through a red light.I remember the murder of that little girl whose body was never found.Very sad.
There doesn’t seem to be much art or literary activity in Blackpool..seems to be full of burger bars, massage parlours ,vaping shops, pubs and betting offices …it was much just the same when I left 52 years ago
We are just near there on Devy rd, rather rude of you not popping in for a brew. I walk our dog round above area for past 30yrs , never had any trouble personally, mind you the dogs a huge one, haa ha. Thankyou Stephen, must go get ready for our Starman, hear your teaching us about the moon, catch you then Sir. Great video, loved it.
Cookson Street thought perhaps you might find Wayne down there Stephen as he’s in town lol. Not an area I’d be walking around at night especially the Talbot Ward. I can imagine the kids there all out at night hanging around causing trouble or problems for residents.
Stephen we stayed jn Blackpool and we had a scarey feeling we walked to get to Gynn Avenue walked up Dickson Road alot of placed boarded up one got the feeling that Blackpool was dying off trust you are keeping well stephen
Bit like that plenty of police 👮🏻♀️ around certain areas in Huddersfield, you just don’t feel safe anymore, there’s nothing much for the young ones to do anymore, either walking around or sat inside playing video games 🎮, no youth clubs etc, can certainly say that things are getting pricey now, stayed in one place Friday to Sunday, cost me and the wife £140 just for a bed, cost us £200 to stay at a caravan park for the week (we have a touring caravan), still works out cheaper too, like most areas there’s good and bad areas
Hi. Stephen. If you are looking for a nice Street try Francis Street, just past Tower a couple of streets behind. You would never believe a street like this existed in Blackpol. More likely to be found in Cornwall or Devon
It's exactly the same where I live, cop cars driving round at night giving you the evil eye, police helicopter out most nights lol Joys of living near Rhyl 😂😂😂😂😂

It’s amazing how few apartment windows have a light on, it’s like they’re all vacant…
Nice drive around Stephen i wouldn't walk round there Either, great video ty 😊x
Best doing your driving videos for the more dogy areas at night. Steve. I love seeing the Tower doing it's light shows xxx

That building that looks boarded up is actually still in use, it is Elizabeth Street surgery and is still active as a doctors office.
Thanks for letting me know.
It's a shame the Brunswick ward is a troubled area because some of those properties would have an amazing view of the tower ❤
Thanks again Stephen for another drive along vlog i used to go to the Brunswick Club many years ago if you weren't early you didn't get in it's changed days now
Glad you enjoyed it George
Hi Stephen great driving video glad putting your safety first by driving not walking around there in the dark👍

There is an art scene, but it's not that obvious. You can see local art at The Hive in town.
Great little video stephen think all the trouble starts as soon as you venture out lol look forward to the next one

@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool you should come to Moston then it's gone bad where I live, never used to be this bad 👎
Love the drive around videos stephen safer in the car at night
It sure is, thanks Julie.
Come on Steve !! Driving is CHEATING ! 🎉
Sensible choosing to drive rather than walk in that area at night
Once Blackpool was a town now it's a migrant drop off...
I wouldn't like to be walking there at night your best in the car plz take care❤❤
Kids will be from the Met, roaming feral.
looks like Roxys has gone some great nights in there
I'm surprised your van wasn't pelted with rocks driving around that particular area of Caunce Street 😂 Full of feral children.
This is like hoods of America with CharlieBo313
Haha, that's where I got the idea lol
Going to Blackpool in Two Weeks staying at Tiffany's Hotel, Don't no what it's like.
