Boko was a fun little character back in the original Final Fantasy 8. But with the removal of Chocobo World in the FF8 Remastered edition, is he still viable in battle? YES! Thankfully, the developers have edited Boko's functionality which is now tied to the party's average party level.
You can summon Boko in battle by using a Gyshal Greens, and he will use one of the following four abilities: ChocoFire, ChocoFlare, ChocoMeteor or ChocoBocle. In the video I explain the results of my testing to determine which ability will be used.

I didn't know this is on the remaster version. Of course, back in the day, I never played the original chocobo world because I did not have a pocket station (whatever that was). Anyway, thank you so much for uploading this video. Can't wait to try.

your vids are really helpful, just wanted to say. ff8 holds a special place for me, it is a game i have returned to for decades now.
Man having chocobo world on the switch would've been great made it so easy to load up on all the Uber rare goodies.

Boko's moves remind me of the extremely broken Chocobos in Final Fantasy Tactics. I wish you could use different greens to use a different move.
There was a way to gain infinite items on the PC version using Boko. Leave Chocobo World on overnight on Auto. He'll find dozens of items from D-A rarity. Then you could leave the mini game open in its second window and in FF8 return him to the game get all the items but they stay untransfered in the Chocobo World game. Rinse repeat... 100x Every item in a couple of hours haha

I have heard that Chocobo World could be played on the US Playstation using an imported PocketStation... which apparently can be had for a semi-reasonable price today.
The poketstation is like the memory cards able to be used on any ps unlike the disc's
Why does it make only 2500 damage maximum on my console? (Level 100) Also your odin farming trick doesn't work either on my remaster version. Why?? Thanks

I got boko late in the game when my party was already at level 100. He only does 2000 damage and I cant get it to increase. What am I doing wrong?

@@RRM25100 no. I even started a new game and got Boko at level 20. Getting to 100 after all that still made no difference.
