      HI TD, I'm little old school in this so my question is:
      Can you get the same loudness from 4 Elac Shelf speakers? Because I'm having a super tough time with this. The main speakers are loud and the second set is super weak and not even close in sound. I'm not using my ONKYO TX-RZ620 AVR with a TV only my Turntable. Maybe you know what I'm doing wrong. I'm also contemplating on getting the external amp because i have to crank this thing up past 50 just to get some volume.

  • @FURognar
    @FURognar 5 лет назад +11

    Ultimately very efficient speakers will do the trick if you are doing a living room system or in a situation where you cant crank it.
    But in a dedicated room where you want to hit reference level, additional amps for the front sound stage is the way to go.
    Or even better...sensitive speakers AND plenty of power. The best of both worlds.

      Ooh… I was ***wondering*** what on Earth the Audiophiliac was going on about when-during one of his celebratory videos of the Klipsch RP600M bookshelf speakers (which I was convinced to acquire)-he made a comment in passing, while **celebrating** how easy they were to drive, that they would make use of the power “*if you had it*.”
      I had bought what is considered a “*powerful*” Onkyo receiver from a list of the Top Ten AirPlay 2 AVRs of 2019, to feed the “*power hog*” ELAC Uni-Fi UB5 bookshelf speakers Steve G. and the posse had convinced me to acquire not long before the Klipsch.
      I remain confident the ELACs will ***feast*** on the Crown XLi 1500, but I must admit, the much more sensitive Klipsch remained a source of curiosity.

    Hello Techno Dad. This video is really nice and helpful, but I have a question about another DENIN X2400H that I own. In the instructions for connecting an additional amplifier to the device, it says to connect ZONE2 on the AVR to the AUX input on the amplifier, of course via an RCA cable. I would like to amplify only the front speakers like this, to get a better stereo sound when listening to music. Do you have any experience with this and can you tell me if I would get a better sound with a good amp than my DENON. So would the sound have the characteristics of this other amplifier? Thanks for your reply and I wish you all the best.

  • @matteup1502

    It would be beneficial to mention your reciever has to have preouts prior to going into any of that. Beginners come to these videos with little knowledge of how these things work and even though you mention preouts, you never specify that you cannot add an external amp without preouts.

    Just purchased a Marantz 6014 amp and currently running a 7.2.2 system. Wanting to add 2 more height atmos speakers. I understand you plug into the pre out height 2 on the Marantz amp but where would you plug into on the external 2 channel amp. I also understand that you plug the new height speakers into the external amp and I’m guessing that you control the volume of the new height speakers from the external amp. Is the volume a preference that you control as needed?

    I'm setting up my first home theater. Have all the equipment picked out except the amplifier. I've heard people say the amp os not going to provide any noticeable difference, and I've heard people say it will make a massive difference. It's a 7.1 channel setup. The front stage speakers are big fancy speakers, the rest are all smaller. My thought was to get an amp for my front big expensive speakers, but I don't want to spend the money if it's not going to make a big difference. I'm not worried about total loudness, I just want the best sound quality, it's not that big of a room.

    • @uprajsingh
      @uprajsingh 5 лет назад

      That would 140Watt per channel only for the amp that you have added. Its just that you will not be using the power of HT7800 as what is advertised is not entirely true. So if you use 7 channels of HT7800 it is not 100W/ch in reality .. it should be around 60 or 70w max :)

    I have a pair of kef uni-q tower speakers. They’re 3 way 6ohms speaker. I’m having trouble connecting them to my Sony home receiver. It’s nothing like your denon, it’s a mid 90s receiver does it’s pretty simple. Every time I turn them up loader than 25 they cut off the receiver to protection mode. I would like to ask how you recommend me connecting the tower speakers to get the best sound.

    Excellent info man. Im looking to add an external to my receiver. It's an older Yamaha RX-v467. But pretty good features and sounds real good for the polks I'm using. It is a 7ch amp but only runs 5.1. Other 2ch are pre outs. Now I'm just looking for a small 2ch amp. I have one in mind with the pyle 120x2. And I already purchased polk audio owm3.. I'm interested in some ideas.

    So the advantage of using preouts is either increasing power to FL,FR,FC or used to add more speakers using pre-outs right. Thanks.

    My only question is, what configuration do I need to change or do I change it at all, say my main AV normally a 7.2 and I get a Amp, and run my LCR through preout do I have to change on the amp the configuration or does this still keep setting at 7.2 and no setting need to be changed besides the preout settings..so it stays a 7.2 through my AV and the amp only poweres the LCR everything else stays the same? 🤔🤔🤔

    can you explain what is timbre matching of speakers?

  • @martindye
    @martindye 2 года назад

    Connecting cables is pretty obvious, but this isn't to me:
    So you just plug it in and the volume levels on the power amp speakers are automatically exactly the same as the ones in the receiver? Surely if the power amp has a higher wattage than the receiver, the power amp'd speakers will play louder.
    Is there a pre out level setting on receivers for this, or is it fixed using room connection and manual level adjustment?
    If the power amp is much more powerful than the receiver, then surely the signal level will be reduced enough to be too weak for a clear and good quality signal?
    I know if I turn my PC master volume down to 1% and turn my amp attached to it up, I'll get a degraded signal.

  • @82temsamani

    Step 1 you plugged the rca cables into your AV receiver denon and then afterwards Step 2 I’m a little confused, because we can’t see where the exact “corresponding input” on the amp is.
    Other than that the video was really clear.

    Hello Channa, I have a Denon 3700 AVR and a Outlaw 7X300 amp connected to my Klipsch speakers. I have 5.2.4 set up. I am using the 7 channels of the amp to connect the main 5 speakers and two of the height (Atmos speakers). Remaining pair of Atmos speakers are connected to the AVR. I bought an Adcom GFA-545 power amp 100 WPC @ 8 Ohms in the second hand market. Do you think I can connect the remaining two Atmos speakers to this amp? The Outlaw is connected via a trigger cable. This amp has to be powered directly I believe. Is there anything wrong in using two amps from the Denon 3700H AVR? Your kind reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    On my Onkyo TX NR696 the pre-outs are used by the subwoofers. How ever there is a left and right line out next to them. I used the line outputs and a separate pre-amp to control an Onkyo M501 power amp. The only drawback is the the volume to the additional speakers are controlled by the separate pre-amp. Would it be possible to use split left and right RCA cables to send the pre-out signal to the subwoofers and the power amp?

    Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
    Need your advice
    I have a 5.1 setup consisting of the following equipment
    1 x Denon AVRX2200W Amp
    4 x Q Acoustics 3010 on their proper ST stands
    1 x Q Acoustic 3070S Sub
    1 x Q Acoustic 3090C Centre Speaker
    1 x Marantz CD63 MkII KI Signature CD Player
    all using decent quality cables
    I’m pleased with my setup pretty much
    Sounds okay watching movies
    I’m VERY disappointed when listening to Music on CD and want some NEW floor standing speakers (must be in White)
    my current setup just lacks a FULL big sound with Music, I don’t have the money to upgrade my Denon amp and maximum budget for speakers is £550 (around $700)
    I was thinking of the Monitor Audio Bronze 5?
    The Bronze 5’s Gotta be a bigger and better sound using these or similar with my Denon AV amp surely? I may even consider some second hand speakers, the Q Acoustics 3010 are rubbish for Music definitely
    My living room is 13ft deep by 16ft wide
    Or maybe I should get a separate power amp to run my 2 new floorstanders?
    Any advice would be great 😃😃
