- Patch 8.0 PTR Battle for Azeroth (BFA) Restoration (resto) Druid PvE class changes! This video goes through the recent resto druid class changes for the new World of Warcraft Expansion - Battle for Azeroth. I also provide my opinions about the talents and changes that could be incorporated to make the class more viable and fun in the next expansion. I am excited to possibly play with Germination and Spring Blossoms talents together!
Keep in mind that these are my opinions and a lot of these changes are not going to make it to live release - this just provides a good indication where Blizzard might take this class!

That talent has saved me more times than I can count... So I guess Wild Charge now? It's much clumsier, but I don't see the extra self-healing cooldown as a viable replacement to a mobility talent.

Living seed is a great passive, it's another HOT that really can help with the overall healing throughput. Healing touch was not used much but in situations of low mana it was. Maybe with the reduction of mana cost for Regrowth it won't be missed totally. I honestly feel that resto druids were really heavily nerfed (just look at the number changes in the last patch), which will help other classes to shine in end game content.
If they go with a model, like you suggested, of frequent, continuous ticking raid damage, you will only take Holy Priest, Holy Paladin, and Resto Druid for healers. The others have had their ability to deal with those mechanics nerfed into the ground.
... removal of displacer? I'm gonna be tanking the floor so much more now. I leaned way too much on that crutch. xD
And putting Germ and Flourish/Essence on the same tier... R.I.P. my "mini tranq" for keys. I loved that combo so much.
was in a twin peaks BG, res druid was on a FC.....we had 3 DPS on res druid, and two on FC and could not drop neither. even without displacer beast, res druid would just hit dash (sprint) which took it to cat removed impairments, popped a rejuv, into bear, pops out and was full HP went to tree. we were back on it, and even with CD blown on dash, the rejuv to bear, and coming back out over and over with full HP is beyond annoying. and the CD on dash....repeat/rinse. could not kill they capped flag with ease
They want to bring back class identity yet they remove the very first spell of druid
im ok with changes if improves the gameplay, not to simplified though.

Really hard talent choices
You're forgetting to mention the fact that you can communicate within a raid and for example let a druid use tranquillity while the other healers regen mana or use pots so I think it's going to be pretty interesting to see what the top guilds do with it.
instead of ducking around with current spells, why not get new ones? It's like shuffling a deck and playing a game again it's still the same cards...
Sorry to ask, but have you played Resto Druid before WoD? Then, you were rewarded for fully channelling Tranquility, as it applied a stacking HoT. Which seems to be returning in BfA, from how this reads. It was a whole lot of overhealing, yes, but Tranq was also a smart heal, only affecting the five (in MoP 25s 12) lowest players within range. Which meant that people might not get all the stacks of the HoT because other healers "snatched away" some of your healing. Among the only times people got to all three stacks were targetted abilities or dungeons. Or the damage continued long enough to keep them so low as to be healed with every tick. Which actually meant that the HoT had its use after the channel had finished. It still overhealed a lot, but it wasn't all bad.
I don't dislike the current Tranq, because it's a raid-wide ability now, but I feel like Blizz needs to do something in order to make it worthwhile to channel it completely. Or this is actually intended to make it less punishing to interupt it. Because of the HoT we are getting (back) on it, Tranq will still matter. Even when interupted.
I still think, however, that it needs some tweaking around though.

what will be the best horde race atm for a resto druid is highmountain druid 1% versatility better than the troll haste cd?
Bonombo prob not. Haste is a better stat then versatility for both m+ and raiding.
in high ilevel gear versatility scales well and the 1% is always there it isnt in a cd like the haste is would be nice if somebody has any maths on it
the racial cooldown in trolls is nice to pop to pre hot the raid quicker before a known in coming damage burst
it's actually not about the duration of tranquility, but more about pre-tranqing rather than using it as a panic button
Tiger Dash should be changed to a leap like what Pterrodax Swoop will be (at least it's what's expected for the Zandalari racial). I will miss Essence of G'Hanir. They should make it baseline.

Wait, how is Tiger Dash a "class unique spell"? Don't Rogues have a spell called sprint? Basically the same exact spell, yet we can't have blink cause mages do?

Why the F they removed living seed !!, its like you are saying that T21 is going to be useless/ and regrowth crit 40% removed, if u see it we only use regrowth when its free although the crit is gonna be low
In my opnion, it is a huge nerf for 5-man content. Right now we can combo
(rejuvenation)+(germination)+(wild growth)+(Flourish)+(essense of G'hanir) and get a really great amount of healing. With the new build we got, at most,
(rejuvenation)+(spring blossoms)+(wild growth)+(Flourish)
which it is not that competitve right now. We also lose te possibility to do (rejuvenation)+(germination)+(wild growth)+(essense of G'hanir) in the case we don't want to use (flourish).
Also, with the lost of (seed of life) and +40% critical at (regrowth) I think it will damage so much of our direct heal in 5-man content. But, it is just my opnion, I would like to hear yours as well.
I actually didn't think too much about the 5-man scenarios - like you mentioned the possible loss of germination and the gain of spring-blossoms (as stonebark and IP are not that good) would really nerf 5-mans especially as spring blossoms is very group dependant. This would all depend if our mastery does not change for BFA.
Flourish will now also contain essence effect.
When I put (rejuvenation)+(spring blossoms)+(wild growth)+(Flourish) i was taking the new kind of
(flourish) in consideration. Thanks =)
I pointed out 5-man scenarios because I love them =D. About that, I think that should be better if they let (flourish) as it already is and take back (genesis) (wow.gamepedia.com/Genesis)
Nothing compared to shaman nerf. We essentially lose our M+ talent (crashing waves), and Cloudburst Totem is being nerfed into the ground, and we are losing a CD for it (AG), so that interesting raid style is gone as a result. You get your artifact ability baked into a insta pick raid talent, so I'm sorry but I don't have much sympathy for druids in this build.

Resto druid was one of the best specs. They should leave it the fuck alone.
No more instant cast healing touches in mythic+ is going to make me sad. Always like to prep up rejuvs on the 5 man extend them when I know there will be high damage so I can pop instant healing touches on the group. Can't say that I am looking forward to the changes other than being able to take spring blossom and germ.
Tranq sounds interesting though. Makes me wonder if it'll be considered a hot that can be extended by flourish?
Nelson Blewett why would you cast healing touch when global cooldown makes it the same as regrowth after the first cast anyways and regrowth heals for a ton more.
Being able to instant cast spam healing touch while moving is way better and mana efficient then sitting in the same spot spamming regrowth when heaps of stuff is happening

Class uniqueness - better make combat ress craftable.
Btw in Q&A resto druids are very mobile so standing still tranquill wont hurt theirs mobility that much. -> Lets make most effective build standing still and hardcast regrowths.

So druid raid healing will remain an extraordinarily boring race against your GCD to apply as many rejuvs as possible? It currently is and looks to remain the most boring raid healing class. At least I'm mildly optimistic about the BFA M+ potential.
Way to much time talking about 2 talents, witch arnt that big as u are saying, but still TO LONG VIDEO and not rly....
How do you make a 17 min long video about 2 talents swapping places and artifact skill being rolled into existing talent is beyond me. Also, resto druids haven't changed much since WoD and blizz said they're happy with resto druids so they're not planning any major changes to them going into BfA.
Healing touch was removed and regrowth was completely reworked. This changes the interplay between our talents and our spells. There's a lot more to cover than a first glance would indicate.
Oh, and they removed Displacer Beast! I'd watch a 30 minute video just about that.
By completely reworked you mean it no longer has higher chance to crit ? That's not even a close to a rework. As for Healing Touch, you mean the spell that got barely used ? Just wanted to confirm that since I don't play resto druid much these days so I checked any logs to see how many casts there were of Healing Touch by top players, can't read cyrillic so I picked the first english one and on garothi mythic for a whole fight a single cast of healing touch. Yes, healing touch will be missed [*]. Biggest change really is that they removed Living Seed. We still don't know what azurite armor bonuses are or how they will affect gameplay, maybe they're moving some things around.
As for Displacer Beast it was really strong to a point that it was the only choice in pve and pvp. They can try to balance it but putting 2 other broken talents to compete with already broken one isn't a best option either. I'm actually happy to see it go. They should get rid of Barkskin too since you can just go bear form on demand.
