Night Elf here. As a European with a deep love for folklore and myth, sitting right next to my personal library filled with fantasy novels and travelogues. I must say. Well done, sir. Well done! And yes! Camping and bushcraftin are my favourite ways to spend the weekend. Cheers! 🍻 🌱☘️🍺
The most memorable time I've had in WoW was with two Tauren back in BC, two druids who were so chill, the three of us spent about 2 hours trying to finish one of the Auchindoun dungeons (it was before Dungeon Finder was a thing), maybe 3, as we waited for new people to show up. Eventually we finished it: 2 dps druids and 3 warlocks, using our Voidwalkers to tank and fear-leashing mobs to make fights manageable (back then the Curse or Recklessness made the target immune to Fear, so with some effort, you could make a mob run back and forth, effectively shutting them down while you dealt with the rest of their buddies). It happened 15-20 years ago but I will take that memory with me to the grave.
This is why when I went full on pvp on my night elf warrior I race changed to human cuz my gear just looked so much more better. However, night elf rogues on the other ooohh man.
I actually only played a gnome because I made him a warrior and I thought that a really short guy swinging a giant sword and fighting things that are always at least twice his size, was super funny.
You forgot one import subset of the Night Elf player base. That segment is the group who farms gold on rp servers in Goldshire in by dancing in their underwear on the tables for tips.
Pretty sure that it was mostly draenei and elves. Every so often a Dwarve and gnome pops up... the only ones that I never saw in that place was human players... which as the video said, they are simple people.... AND we must add that like to keep the hell away from goldshire(even though it is infront of their capital). There was this time back in the days in which if your character was female, no matter the race. You were greeted with open arms and lots of kisses and flirts. Unless you tried to kill someone then they killed you.
Aww! I really enjoyed Sylvanas' lore, which steered me towards Undead - but the single biggest reason I stuck with it: you can breathe underwater by default
The bloodelf part was accurate. Back in pretty early WOW when I was a little kid first trying the game I played a bloodelf named Fearhole, my 8 year old self not seeing anything wrong with that. My older father and brother who both played forsaken kept telling me to change my name for some reason.

True, I wanted to play forsaken back in the day, but everyone I knew played ally so I just chose human. If it had been available though, definitely would have been a worgen. And now it's become emo elves.

It's crazy how relevant this is even today. Encountered a Orc scammer who tried to make a pyramid scheme using a Guild, and when inside a dungeon, an Undead Knight or DK was just the biggest jerk in existence, the dude soloed the entire thing while insulting other players and closing doors on them, dude was on a mission.

I think lots of queer people also flock to the Forsaken because they identify with the themes of found family and being social outcasts and there is no catgirl race, so picking a character is much harder for trans people in this game compared to FF14

We are not here for raiding, we are not here for battlegrounds, or world pvp, questing, or the story. We play this game to manipulate the auction house. Pandaren are a beautiful race. Every time my character starts fighting I just think of Po from Kung Fu Panda and I want to just cry everytime because of the joy I get from seeing the resemblance between Po and my Character. It's just a beautiful thing to lay my sweet little virgin eyes upon :')
Yeah, sadly. This kind of view is rare. Like, 10% of pandaren picked it because we actually like the race and feel connected to it. Personally, I was always called "panda" back in school and the moment this race came up? It was like a dream. Always loved the pandaren that appeared after the secret level in W3 with the blood elves. Wanted him to appear on WoW. But after meeting with some Pandaren players in real life... yeah, sadistic doesn't cut it. They are the kind of people that love to watch the world burn.

As a dwarf enjoyer, I have to say you nailed it. I'm always friendly and helpful with everyone in the game. Like, when a pally runs by and gives me a blessing of might, I'll fire off a quick /thanks. When I join a dungeon group, I'll /cheer people that I recognize :D
The tauren was so accurate...my dad mains a tauren and is the guild leader of our guild. We met up with a guild member irl a couple years ago and he literally bought the chick a beer. Tauren mains are the best.

I played as a Tauren (yeah, I don't play anymore. I miss to play WoW the same amount as I'm grateful for not playing it anymore) and it is precisely that. In real life I'm the joy of my garrison, always breaking the ice with a joke, even though the situation is serious. I love sports (Muay Thai), love to travel, ride motorcycle enjoy the nature. I'm very friendly and chill, just don't harm any animal or children near me. You will regreat.

Remus I act the same on each of my characters. Usually just a nice laid back person. No matter what. You can tell the blood elf character model think highly of themselves though by the way they hold themselves haha that's what I'm currently playing but I don't act arrogant or entitled like the bloodelves would seem to come off as physically

I play forsaken but for a weird reason I have a few chronic diseases and I feel comfortable with thier disease aspect and the pack feeling you get after first being revived and having your new life explained to you

I play a human because I feel more immersed being myself in a world of warcraft, where everyone else is different. Plus, I like the Germanic/Old English lore/architecture.
My guild leader during WOT was a Dwarf Proc Paladin, and he was exactly as you described. He was by far the most experienced one of us, and he constantly helped us. He was very friendly and attentive to the guildies, but god forbid if you messed with him, his wrath was worse than that of The Lich King's.
The blood elves thing relates to me on a spiritual level haha. Apparently when I was four, my dad made me a blood elf character to play, and came back to check on me playing a while later and found that I had somehow managed to run all the way to booty bay, and was in a guild who kept trying to talk to me. . . (but I couldn't read so we probably all know how well that went lol)

I think the asshole Forsaken players are typically the old-timey veterans. I joined during Cat. as a Forsaken rogue of all things and I just like going at my own pace.

Side note about Tauren: very accurate. My irl friend who plays a Tauren is a very chill, nice, funny guy. He actually bought me a drink when I didn't have any money on me and we just randomly decided to go out. I tried to get him a drink later in return but he didn't want me to pay. Awesome guy.
As a worgen player, I didn't make it because of any of your ideas. I made it because I was a kid when I made my character. Started as a Night Elf Druid main, switched to Worgen Hunter, then Worgen Druid, then back to Worgen Hunter.

I think lots of queer people also flock to the Forsaken because they identify with the themes of found family and being social outcasts and there is no catgirl race, so picking a character is much harder for trans people in this game compared to FF14

We are not here for raiding, we are not here for battlegrounds, or world pvp, questing, or the story. We play this game to manipulate the auction house. Pandaren are a beautiful race. Every time my character starts fighting I just think of Po from Kung Fu Panda and I want to just cry everytime because of the joy I get from seeing the resemblance between Po and my Character. It's just a beautiful thing to lay my sweet little virgin eyes upon :')

Yeah, sadly. This kind of view is rare. Like, 10% of pandaren picked it because we actually like the race and feel connected to it. Personally, I was always called "panda" back in school and the moment this race came up? It was like a dream. Always loved the pandaren that appeared after the secret level in W3 with the blood elves. Wanted him to appear on WoW.
But after meeting with some Pandaren players in real life... yeah, sadistic doesn't cut it. They are the kind of people that love to watch the world burn.

I played as a Tauren (yeah, I don't play anymore. I miss to play WoW the same amount as I'm grateful for not playing it anymore) and it is precisely that.
In real life I'm the joy of my garrison, always breaking the ice with a joke, even though the situation is serious. I love sports (Muay Thai), love to travel, ride motorcycle enjoy the nature. I'm very friendly and chill, just don't harm any animal or children near me. You will regreat.

Hmm I mostly play Night Elf, Human and Undead, noticed that I act differently when playing each. =)
Remus I act the same on each of my characters. Usually just a nice laid back person. No matter what. You can tell the blood elf character model think highly of themselves though by the way they hold themselves haha that's what I'm currently playing but I don't act arrogant or entitled like the bloodelves would seem to come off as physically

My guild leader during WOT was a Dwarf Proc Paladin, and he was exactly as you described. He was by far the most experienced one of us, and he constantly helped us. He was very friendly and attentive to the guildies, but god forbid if you messed with him, his wrath was worse than that of The Lich King's.

Side note about Tauren: very accurate. My irl friend who plays a Tauren is a very chill, nice, funny guy. He actually bought me a drink when I didn't have any money on me and we just randomly decided to go out. I tried to get him a drink later in return but he didn't want me to pay. Awesome guy.

As a worgen player, I didn't make it because of any of your ideas. I made it because I was a kid when I made my character. Started as a Night Elf Druid main, switched to Worgen Hunter, then Worgen Druid, then back to Worgen Hunter.

Yes, I think the author forgot people like you: Those who really *ADORE* the _Dark Lady._ The number of adoring admirers she has certainly outnumbers that of any other character. Maybe, if put in a poll of some sort, she wouldn't be the character with the most "likes", but I'm pretty sure she'd be the one with the most die-hard hardcore fans by miles. Alexstrasza would come in second.
