Does the cap with the Teather require pipe dope or Teflon tape on those threads?

Several manufacturers are now requiring them to be upright.
@@KcwaterheatersI said to you guys you're the only ones that I have seen installed it properly. All they have to do is read the manufacturers installation instructions
A bladder expansion tank will work fine regardless of how it sits

it would suck to install these on power vents.
