I was living in a shared acc. some years ago and one night we've had the front door completely smashed by burglars armed with knives and aggressive dog (like usual in Birmingham), the police was phoned and they instead asked if there's any corona situation completely ignoring the whole incident, so when the attackers returned the same night police was phoned again and told that there was a stabbing taking place and 2 people are dead, they came in less than 5 minutes and arrested the burglars. Fortunately there was no stabbing and the person who phoned the police saying about it was fined but at least they saved the house!

The Thin Blue Line patch is clearly emblematic of the Them and Us attitude of the police. As a retired officer of the Metropolitan Police, I find this symbolism to be repugnant. A uniform, as the word implies, indicates everything is the same. It is worn as a sign of authority and discipline. Suborning the uniform is wrong as a dilution of their own authority.

Poppies and other flags and emblems sold on authorised flag days may be worn Is it an authorised flag day? Far better to make complaints about each officer you meet wearing one. Make it a schedule 3 complaint and take it to review.

With the badges it is fairly simple. Soldiers who take taxpayer's money and swore an oath to the crown, many of their fellow soldiers have died in the line of duty, they don't get to wear a special flag on their uniform everyday, they wear the flag of the state they swore an oath to. I was living in a shared acc. some years ago and one night we've had the front door completely smashed by burglars armed with knives and aggressive dog (like usual in Birmingham), the police was phoned and they instead asked if there's any corona situation completely ignoring the whole incident, so when the attackers returned the same night police was phoned again and told that there was a stabbing taking place and 2 people are dead, they came in less than 5 minutes and arrested the burglars. Fortunately there was no stabbing and the person who phoned the police saying about it was fined but at least they saved the house!

He abuses a right that they are in the middle of updating in Parliament. To be honest so many laws are in need of updating since technology is constantly evolving. These tyrants with mobile phones abuse section 33 of the criminal and justice act and also they claim they are filming for public interest but when you been filming at a site (like he does at police station) for 2 hours then it becomes active surveillance of a government building. Which does fall under section 43 of the terrorist act. So all his sheep need to realise what he is doing!

A uniform, as the word implies, indicates everything is the same. It is worn as a sign of authority and discipline. Suborning the uniform is wrong as a dilution of their own authority.

With the badges it is fairly simple. Soldiers who take taxpayer's money and swore an oath to the crown, many of their fellow soldiers have died in the line of duty, they don't get to wear a special flag on their uniform everyday, they wear the flag of the state they swore an oath to. And i think we can agree that many more soldiers have died in the line of duty than police officers.
I think it's disgusting how the police here have begun wearing the blue line flag on their uniforms. I appreciated how you calmly went into detail with these officers as to why this symbol is so racially offensive and the perception it gives of the police to the public.
