    • @Edwinbraun20
      @Edwinbraun20 4 года назад

      gucci mane they want you to spend more money on gasoline. They talk about emissions but how does it possibly help, if instead of getting 30+ mpg compared to 15mpg... coz every liter still burns and turns into co2.
      Maybe I’m just not smart enough but it seems to me that some rich oil guys are just lobbying to make you guys spend more time at the pump. Not to even mention about all the dollars spent on that extra gas.

      Edwin Braun that truck gets 20 mpg and diesels cost more and with all the emmisions that are put onto them in the usa they dont last more than 150k miles. It takes the exhaust and puts that into the air intake.

    I just traded in a 2018 Chevy Colorado for a 2019 Nissan Frontier because the Colorado doesn't have the torque and horsepower like that 4.0 liter engine provides with a 5-speed auto. 8 speed transmissions suck ass at pulling. I drove the Ford ranger and that 10-speed transmission is horrific.

    • @AFriendlyTheo
      @AFriendlyTheo 5 лет назад +1

      I love listening to southerners rant about smaller vehicles. As Subaru has proved time and time again, you don't need a 2 ton truck with a 6.7 liter super-charged v8 to off road. You need a well built vehicle with a good power to weight ratio, good tires, and a damn good sense of what you can do and still be in control.

    • @gsfbffxpdhhdf7043
      @gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 4 года назад

      Theo Andersen you have no fuckimg clue what you are talking about. Going down a dirt road is not off roading going over a rock in a hard pack trail is not off roading. Going through some rutts with mud in them is not off roading. If you try to follow me in my 4cylinder tacoma 4wd with 33 inch tires and a 5 inch lift you will break your subaru axles or diff. I will not tow you out so you better have a wench and like you say know what you are doing. And you better bring spare tire and a spare axle. Fucking idiots like you make me laugh. Are your differentials snorkled? If not they will ingress water and mud and will blow up on the drive home. Subarus do not have the ground clearence the tire size the gearing to go through what mid sized trucks go through. Never mind full sized tundras or f150. You see you watch videos on youtube vs a truck that has no lockers in it and bald tires vs a subaru with fresh tires with a agresive tread pattern all be it they are small as fuck and give fuck all for ground clearence. And you think hey look you see subarus are awsome. Yeah i had friends like you follow me in the woods. For all i know they may still be out there i told them not to try snd follow me but snotty lil libtards like you think they know everything from one youtube video where a truck gets stuck and your weak awd system pulls them through 6 inches of mud with hard pack under it and u think its an all terain vehicle all of a sudden. Your cvt or what ever shit unhave sucks. You will get in mud so thick with me you will snap axles left and right you better have full skid plates because then the terrain changes quick to rocks and those will tear up trannies and snap axles if you go in with your subaru set up. I see it all the time and i try to talk them out of it. It never works. U subaru drivers are all the same snotty nose lil libtarts that are hipsters. Trucks are needed for a reason if u dont know that reason then keep driving on your dirt road thinking thats off roading but realize any truck can do that so your subaru is not anything to talk about. It has zero off road performance.

    Had the D40 Navara (190 bhp) in the UK and loved it. Living in the UK all my life there was a bit of a psycological barrier I had to overcome to buy my first pick up but now I have had one I can honestly say they are great vehicles. After the D40 I did go back to cars for a time but it never felt right and I eventually got another pick up (NP300).
    I honestly think if more people here in the UK tried a pick up they would change any pre conceived Ideas they had about them and see them for the fantastically versatile bits of kit they are. They will never be for everyone but if you are an out doors sort of person, and dont live in a street where parking is an issue, there really is no better vehicle.

    The UK Ford Ranger arrived in late '98 and is based on the Mazda B2500. From 98-11 it continues in four variations until it was replaced in '11 /'12 by the Ford Australia built Ranger which became the best selling pick up in the UK. The American Ford Ranger has been around about as long as The Constitution but is a totally different truck. It was retired a few years ago but was re-introduced in 2018 as a Federal Version of our own UK truck with the 2,3 ecoboost. By all accounts it's very good too and is free of a number of issues that persist with our UK diesel version.

    I have driven a 2019 Nissan Frontier in the base model “S” trim, it was a 4 cylinder and rear wheel drive, it was white and had black plastic bumpers. In America, base model pickups are known as “work trucks”. It had the manual windows, manual door locks, but it had cruise control Bluetooth, and a back up camera, it was company vehicle, it was not very thrilling, it was slow and felt cheap, but that is the point of the base model, work truck, S trim. I like the Pro 4X model, especially in the newest generation.

    My mother delivers mail in a 4wd 4.0 crew cab with a RHD conversion in it. As of july of 2023 she had put 125k on it since buying it new in 2019. Delivering mail and making 300+ stops and go's per day means that it pretty much gets hammered on a daily basis... I actually do brake pads every 3-4 months because of it. Despite that, it's held up like a champ. Zero engine or drivetrain issues. In 3-4 years it'll have 250k for sure and I cannot foresee any troubles engine wise during those miles. Wear and tear items like suspension and steering components will need replacing after 100k but that's normal. The 265 hp engine had the power to pass cars and tow whatever you need. We previously had a chevy avalanche that was full sized and it's 5.3l v8 only had 20 more hp than the 4.0 v6. while getting 18-20 mpg city and 22-24 mpg highway, as far a trucks go, I don't think there is a much better overall option

  • @AB-coyote

    The VQ40 makes 90% of its available torque at 2,000 rpm. You don’t have to rev it super high to make power.
    Maybe the diesels you are used to have more low end power but this truck would likely smoke them up top.

      Good question, this vehicle is the only product that NCAP campaigned to the government to have it removed from general sale in the UK. In frontal impact tests the rear deck/chassis snapped and tried to punt straight into the passenger cab, that's without carrying any load!

    There is a huge import tax on European commercial vehicles (something like 25%) imported to the US. Hence the only ones you see on the roads there are US built.
    Ford did try importing the minivan/people carrier version of the Connect and then turning it into a van in the US to get around the levy... but that didnt last long!

      I'd own a "Japanese tin can" ahead of a F150 any day, and I do, but mine's a Mitsubishi. Better made, more reliable and cheaper. Surprising as it may be to you American cars have a pretty poor reputation world wide these days. No matter how much your President complains almost no one wants to buy one. In Australia any one with any sense buys Japanese when it comes to buying a ute, what you call a pick up.

My Ford Expedition, (F150 frame and drivetrain), has 220,000 miles on it and runs like new. My Corvettes are bulletproof. My NSX is nice but not a very strong car. My personal experience is decades long, premium American cars are much better than Japanese tin cans.

The rest of the world is simply not in agreement with you. If not for the large domestic market almost no one would buy American cars, that's the truth, they're ugly gas guzzling shit heaps. @@christopherjames9843 News flash you Muppet. Australia is NOT in Europe, perhaps you're thinking of Austria. Of course it's an easy mistake, one your President might make, but then he is a little 'special', and while we're at it three quarters of the German army was destroyed by the Russians, that's where WWII was won and lost, not by the country where stolen valour is a national pastime, the US. You two are about as intelligent as your so called President, and that's not much.
      The US is on the way out, doomed to crumble from within under the weight of its own contradictions, and the arrogance and stupidity of the bulk of its own citizens only makes it more certain.
