Brilliant handling and excellent steering feel for a big coupe and as said, what a noise from the induction if a little too sedate from the exhaust but easy to rectify with the common 2 pipe exhaust mod many owners undertake which gives the car that wonderful V8 Growl. Great watch this SCD.
Quality video! It’s great to see content that really exemplifies the qualities that this car has, and the praise that it deserves. I’ve had my E92 M3 competition for 4 years now and if anything I enjoy it more with each passing year. My mind was set on a manual gearbox, but the DCT truly won me over when I test drove it. It compliments the engine perfectly and I wouldn’t want any other setup now. It’s been tastefully modified, and the latest addition was a full carbon Eventuri setup (intake, plenum and airbox lid). The induction noise it now makes is truly intoxicating, it’s literally like a V8 CSL. With the windows up and on wide open throttle, all you can hear is the S65 bellowing out that distinctive roar. It’s truly transformed the car. It would be great if you could do another video on this setup, it truly needs to be experienced. They won’t make anything like this again, and I can’t see myself ever wanting to let it go.
We have a DCT comp car too in matching spec to this and will never sell it! How much was the Eventuri setup? Any videos? Feels like the E92 has been undervalued for way too long and it needed the airtime

The styling/sculpture of the E92 really does not show through in darker colours, or in 2D when you see pictures or videos. Seeing in the metal for the first time definitely started to change my mind, and when I drove one on the Nordschleife it was clearly a long way ahead of the E46 in handling terms (I was on my 2nd E46 M3 at the time). Just when I thought they wouldn't make another video for the e92 m3 (i've seen every single one of them on RUclips) and I found this! Thanks so much for making this video!
The S65 engine makes peak power at 8300rpm, redline starts at 8400 and ends near 8500. I know a few hundred rpm don't mean much but i see it commonly mistaken, and it actually matters in a car where peak power is produced so close to redline, where you have to wring every rpm out of it for max performance, particularly in the manual tranny with wider spaced gearing.
The E92 will one day be called one of the best M cars ever made. I absolutely am obsessed with the E92. I have an emotional attachment with that car, it's an end of era....The E92 is truly the ultimate M series car
Is not about having 1000HP, the question is: Do they have the skill to handle it? The E92 M3 it is not a kids toy. This machine is a beast for those who can handle it.
Great car especially the manual version. You can't beat a decent sized normally aspirated high revving engines found in the likes of the E46/E92 M3, Porsche 996/997GT3/RS and Ferrari 430 coupled to a manual gearbox.
No need to, it's a good engine but it's basically the same concept as this engine - only 10 years later. Has more power because of more displacement but it lacks induction sound compared to E92 M3.
I like the praise of this car, it truly deserves it. But I am always a bit surprised when people don't call it fast. I mean it goes from 0 - 200 kph in 15 seconds. That is still a fast car and always has been.
You make vídeos with my dreams, pure art. I Love this manual V8, i dream with It. I would send muy soul for him. Hurts not to drive It. Sorry for my english.
i owned a e92 m3 dct from 2011 but the sound is not as good stock as you all may think you need to get an aftermarket exhaust on it to get that v8 alive. i have lot of engine problems with this car with no tuning so i will give it a 6.5/10 overall score. the f82 dct 2014 i have had with performance exhaust i give it 7.8/10 overall score. Now i have a brand new g80 m3 manual and this is the car i was been looking for. this car is for me a 9.5/10 overall this car is stock just perfect on all areas!
My only problem with mine.... 14.6 mpg and 200 miles range. ohh and repair bills. everything is 3k to fix... rod bearing.. 3k clutch.. 3k rear suspension 3k and rear tires... man can it chew them up if ya like., My idrive is horrible.. but i have an iphone... the engine noise to redline and the steering feel is everything. nice simple perfect
Thank god for that. It's really tiresome to hear about TA and RB over and over and over again from people pretending to be some sort of authority in the field when this is all they know from reading someone else's comment.
Had one of these. Legendary engine, on par with my GT3. Rest of the car is a let down. Feels lardy with lifeless steering. Sold it to get an E39 M5 which was more fun.
I own both cars. My E39 M5 is not even close to being in the same league as a drivers car to the M3. It’s a Goddamn lardy boat in comparison (which I like for cruising around)
We want more Legends of the Naturally Aspirated Engines like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG W204, BMW E60 M5, Porsche Carrera GT, Lexus LFA, Dodge Viper, Lamborghini Murciélago V12 and Ferrari F12
Great cars. The period from 2000 to around 2013 was great for high revving normally aspirated engines with card like Porscher 996/997 GT3/RS, BMW M3 E46 & E92, Ferrari 360/430, Pagani Zonda, Carerra GT etc. Modern high performace turbo or hybrid motors don't hold the same appeal to me.

You won’t regret it!!!
Great video guys. Love my E92 M3. Will never sell. Never ever! 😍
Nice video! Proud to be an owner of a 2011 E92 M3 Competition! Frozen grey with DCT, love it! 30 k miles :)
Sounds like you've got a real gem there! Only 30k miles!

What a video guys. The scene at the end when the specialie is racing by was incredible. About to buy a silver stone M3 e93 6 speed Bc of this video!
Thanks for watching snd enjoy the car! You won’t regret it 🙌
@@scd guy raised the price on me by 3k right at last minute. It has 120k miles and is salvaged. I’m not sure now. For 20k it was a steal. For 23,000$ if I save a little more I can get a clean title w 80k for 25. WhT you think 🤔 guys
Such a nicely filmed and color graded video, keep up the good work!
The best channel for atmospheric engines lovers, unbeateable. Enzo Ferrari would be a fan of the channel, sure. Sorry for my english.

Honda K20 got to be in with a shout, M3 sounded incredible on headphones ♥️
F20?
K20 is a great shout! It’s technically better than the F20
@@thedownshiftchannel what makes you say that?
@@Marz2695 the K20 has steel liners as opposed to the FRP reinforced ones which can cause wear and is difficult to maintain. It also has iVtec which is 100% programmable so can be tuned to suit application much better where the F is more a switch and closer to the older B series. Both excellent engines but the K is more capable
@@thedownshiftchannel good points, though I didn't realise there was much difference between the VTEC systems. Thanks!
What an intro 🙌
Well done all, enough epic watch, a few famous Lacey drifts would be epic
Thanks Royd ✌️
This has to be the best video on the e92 m3 🔥🔥🔥 wish we have those roads to really stretch this beast. To be featured next to a Ferrari & Lamborghini speaks volumes. Great Video!
Thanks! Check out our 2 latest videos, Episodes 4 and 5 of the series!
I own and E92 M3 LCI Manual, and it's a brilliant car. Still feels modern and relevant despite being 10 years old, does all the fun things and sings above 5500rpm.
Just when I thought they wouldn't make another video for the e92 m3 (i've seen every single one of them on RUclips) and I found this! Thanks so much for making this video!
More M3 content coming later in the year!!
They really need an eventuri intake and plenum to make them come alive. Great work, looking forward to the rest of the series.
We're looking forward to putting out the next 2 videos! Thanks for watching!
The revs of this V8 simply sound glorious in fact it's sound is reminiscent of V8's from stock cars of the 70's, this car truly is underrated.
I am not giving mine up! (2012 mineral white ZCP 6sp). A European muscle car for its time! Brings Joy to this motor-head every time I drive her
Great start of the new series and a wonderful spec M3 ✌
Thanks for watching ✌️
Space Grey on Fox Red 6MT E92 M3 👌 great spec!
Thanks! We love it.
These sound even better with a Eventuri carbon plenum, it might even rival the M3 CSL
Really? That’s a bold statement
@@scd good reason for a side by side video I reckon ;)
@@scd They sound even better than the CSL because you get the same induction noise, but with the v8.
Thanks for explaining why we are lucky. These are special cars.
International engine of the year 2008,2009,2010,2011 and 2012…. Nothing else to say. Amazingly brilliant car to drive and enjoy. Heavenly
After driving it, we are NOT surprised 😍
Is not about having 1000HP, the question is: Do they have the skill to handle it? The E92 M3 it is not a kids toy. This machine is a beast for those who can handle it.
Its 2022. By todays standards its slower than a golf r. Cars a joke
Great car especially the manual version. You can't beat a decent sized normally aspirated high revving engines found in the likes of the E46/E92 M3, Porsche 996/997GT3/RS and Ferrari 430 coupled to a manual gearbox.
No you can't! That whole era of cars was wonderful.
The voodoo has to make an appearance in this series
No need to, it's a good engine but it's basically the same concept as this engine - only 10 years later. Has more power because of more displacement but it lacks induction sound compared to E92 M3.
Great videos folks. You do amazing work....I’m a huge fan. Please keep it coming.
I like the praise of this car, it truly deserves it. But I am always a bit surprised when people don't call it fast. I mean it goes from 0 - 200 kph in 15 seconds. That is still a fast car and always has been.
It deserves it! And good point 😅🚀
You make vídeos with my dreams, pure art. I Love this manual V8, i dream with It. I would send muy soul for him. Hurts not to drive It. Sorry for my english.
Great car, was expensive to run but worth it - glad to have owned such an iconic V8
We couldn't agree more. A fantastic engine
Gorgeous Speedmaster. Car isn't bad either.
i owned a e92 m3 dct from 2011 but the sound is not as good stock as you all may think you need to get an aftermarket exhaust on it to get that v8 alive. i have lot of engine problems with this car with no tuning so i will give it a 6.5/10 overall score. the f82 dct 2014 i have had with performance exhaust i give it 7.8/10 overall score. Now i have a brand new g80 m3 manual and this is the car i was been looking for. this car is for me a 9.5/10 overall this car is stock just perfect on all areas!
Thanks, good to know
You definitely need to include the 4.7L V8 Vantage in this series!
I think 4.3!
We recently featured a Vantage GT8 if that interests you! ruclips.net/video/WLwA4d1ou4w/видео.html
Request: E39 M5
Great video guys, as always.
Thank you dude
Sold my manual e92 v8 over 5 years ago but would definitely buy another, especially in this spec. What mileage is on this car? (Ps nice Speedmaster)
Fantastic video, looking forward to the other cars in the series 😆
Still my absolute dream car. What a engine!
One of M's best!
Another high quality video. Great content, really enjoyed it!
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it! Episode 2 and 3 are shaping up nicely!
A big thumbs up to Miles!
Excellent stuff! The red line on the e92 is 8400 rpm.
Thanks for watching
great vid cant beat the V8 grunt!
My only problem with mine....
14.6 mpg and 200 miles range.
ohh and repair bills.
everything is 3k to fix...
rod bearing.. 3k
clutch.. 3k
rear suspension 3k
and rear tires... man can it chew them up if ya like.,
My idrive is horrible.. but i have an iphone...
the engine noise to redline and the steering feel is everything.
nice simple perfect
I average 21.4 mpg on mine. It was 16.1 mpg until my last service lol

Mk4 R32 - smooth sounding VR6 🙌🏼
That’s another gem for sure !
Great engine, didn’t touch on some of its fragilities though, I’ve never loved the shape of these personally but a lot love them.
Thank god for that. It's really tiresome to hear about TA and RB over and over and over again from people pretending to be some sort of authority in the field when this is all they know from reading someone else's comment.
@@TheRealDr.Mabuse have you watched the savage geese video on this model ?
@@stu4181Still tiresome hearing about it in every comment section as its the only thing worth mentioning.
This era was the pinnacle of drivers' cars. I also think this is probably the best looking BMW ever made.
We want more Legends of the Naturally Aspirated Engines like the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG W204, BMW E60 M5, Porsche Carrera GT, Lexus LFA, Dodge Viper,
Lamborghini Murciélago V12 and Ferrari F12
It sure was! The N/A sweet spot
Super cool video right on.
Please more of E92 m3 !
I terribly regret selling my perfectly mint condition E92 M3 6-Speed 😣😫 It was just so nice & special to drive! Who ever has one, keep it!! We’re definitely never going to have a gem 💎 like this again with all the automotive/climate requirements these days.
Great stuff,guys!
Thank you 🙏
A wonderful celebration of the finest NA motors - thank you!
Where is this filmed, please?
It's not a supercar, but do you have plans to feature the DC2 Integra Type R? For a while, it held the record for engine specific output (an award inherited by the S2000). For a humble 4-cylinder, it's still rather special at 8900rpm (or 9.5k in mine).
Thanks again to you all at SCD 👍👌
Great video. Very well done! BTW, does anybody know the background song? About min 07:44 and 04:14
Fantastic Video! Love it and love the car

I had a m135i and fancied something different. Bought a Lupo GTI which I absolutely love. I'm pretty sure the E92 M3 will be my next car I just don't know if I can get rid of the Lupo just yet!
