The old man had a manual e92 M3 in red and it was incredible. He got 430hp from DMS and a delimit, I can confidently say you’ll get 190mph out the M3 because I can tell you from personal experience... Without the remap the car can’t reach peak torque or power in 6th gear and would max out at around 160 in 5th however with the subtle tune it pulls 6th gear, hence the top speed. Akrapavovic exhaust would be my pick and an Eventuri carbon intake is a thing of pure beauty. Good luck!
Hey Sam thanks for your reply! Sounds like a lovely car, we would of gone for manual if it was a weekend car. Good news about the delimit, we’ll hopefully be able to let you know about that on the next Vmax200. Re exhausts, yes Akrapovic is up there and carbon airbox would be a dream!
TheSUPERCARDRIVER I personally love the sound of the S65 V8. Not as shouty as the 6.2 V8 from a Mercedes but instead it has a more, expensive sound and feel to it, like a little piece of motorsport up front. Had you considered the E90 saloon at all? Not driven one but some journalists (all trustworthy) preferred it because of its rear biased weight distribution.
@@Assimilator1 supposed to be but they go more, dct m3 in 6th will surpass the 155 limiter and do 161 ish gps. Mine was clearly not stock I did 192 n/a before the charger and was 440hp. Stock no mods and the m performance drivers pack they do over 170 true speed.
@@scd A missing manual? Lol. I got lucky and the one I came across was a mt. It felt like this guy seemed to described...that just a few things could make it nearly ideal to a weekend back road warrior and a drivers car track dream....that also can haul the groceries 😆
My best friend has an E92 M3 MT. The car felt a little bit underpowered and sluggish in comparison to more torquey 1M and E39 M5, so he managed to put test pipes, underdrive pulleys, akrapovic axle-back and a tune. The gains were about 10-11% in power and torque, and the car is much more alive with that added midrange torque. I strongly recomend the test pipes when tuning these cars! Other than that, maybe you'd get nice results in confidence and feel from PU bushings, a shorter final drive, solid subframe mounts.
Thanks buddy! Appreciate you taking the time to share that, we’ll deffo look into it. Know what you mean about how it feels, the power is all up at the top of the Rev range isn’t it. That said it’s not slow, just doesn’t feel fast
Totally different tuned engines, the e39 M5 has it's torque lower down, but that means less power. The 1M is bound to have more torque as it's turbo'd! The S65 is quick when used within it's powerband, 4-8k+ RPM, although it goes pretty decently from 3k+. Test pipes might sound good but are no good for MoTs or track days! 😛
I'd add adjustable rear toe links, a quality exhaust, underdrive pully, and one of the biggest differences (even though it's not cheap) is to go to a shorter geared differential. The difference gearing makes to E92 & E46 M3's is significant in offsetting the low RPM torque shortfall.
Huge fanboy of this car! All of these mods are great for track days. My mods list would be: - Rod bearings - GTS DCT software - Pulleys, some hp gain advertised but mainly for responsiveness - BMC air filter, no real gains - The famous 'muffler mod' for sound, not performance gains - Bilstein B6 shocks with stock springs - H&R sway bars - 18 inch wheels with Michelin PS4S tyres - Stock rotors but with upgraded brake pads and brake fluid, stainless steel brake lines. - Replace bushes and install monoball front control arms - Wheel alignment Allegedly the main way to get more HP is through free flowing primary cats and the X pipe which deletes the rear cats. Can't wait to get this car one day.
Something you may want to consider in the future is a square 18 inch wheel setup. Much more positive solid front end with the wider wheels and takes out some of that limit understeer.
I’ve ran the same K sport kit on my M3 for about 3 years now with no problems but be sure to clean them maybe every 6 months just to stop dust build up in the calipers because it will make your life hell when it comes to a pad change
I went to Evolve Automotive and they fitted test pipes, along with the stage 2 remap and GTS gearbox update-transformed the car in my eyes. I also had the OEM mod done to the exhaust, coupled with the test pipes, it sounds insane 😍 potentially a little loud for the track however!
Don’t forget to do the rod bearings. Not sure what the mileage is but better sooner than later. Extra power plus track time is just begging for catastrophic failure lol. Love the car though. It will sound incredible with an exhaust.
This is brilliant content lads. The E92 is amazing, like you say it's not all about Carl Hartley and supercars. This is wonderful. More please. 👏 Would also have loved to have seen more content on E46 M3 CSL. Future projects maybe guy's? 😁
Things you could do :) anti-roll bars, headers w x-pipe, LSD w clutch and 4.10 ratio, 4.4 - 4.7 stroker kit. rear seat delete and roll cager. Only your imagination is the limit :P
GTS tune is night and day difference. Weird that you dont feel that. First thing I did to my car. For daily driving, it gets rid of all the jerkiness. The car shifts noticeably faster for sure.=
Great review! I had an E92 M3 a few years ago, sold it and looking to get another one. Had the M Performance exhaust and loved the sound but it might be too civil for what you're looking to build. If you're installing test pipes for a true stage 2 tune, check out the Eisenmann Sport muffler or Race if you want to really up the volume. The combination makes beautiful music!
...and I was just about to ask about why you didn’t do anything with the exhaust?? When I was considering purchasing one in 2010, I decided during the test drive that I would have to include an aftermarket exhaust in the budget 😉!Looking forward to the next video!

Lowering springs on stock shocks suck. Period. Really the only time this is appropriate is for looks, not for handling. It doesn’t make the car any faster.
Actually the removal of the rear seats doesn't change the car an inch. From experience 😉. That's in a ballpark of 25kg out of more than 1600, same difference with more or less petrol in the tank.
did you not see the bit where they mapped engine and gearbox at Peron (probably best tuners in country/Europe) lol, why take it to Evolve where Imran uses mostly generic shit?
Great video thanks for sharing . Just a quick question re the suspension . Surprised considering the level of changes you made that only a lowering spring was used for the suspension mods . These E92 cars go really well with a full coilover and really if tracking then I would say it is a must .
Do a rear seats delete! It saves significant weight and since the rear is not accessible with the new awesome seats, the rear seats are kind of useless!

Still, they can add 20 - 40 hp on a well maintained , healthy engine ! And sometimes thats just what a car like an e92 m3 needs 🙂 When my civic ep3 type r still had its stock engine , 200hp , i did a full 3" exhaust front to back with cat delete, a quality custom cold air intake , and RBC intakemanifold , and a custom tune on a doctronic ecu. Went from 200 hp to 248.3 hp. Well, that changed to whole car ! I mostly gutted the interior aswell, so a 48 hp gain and a 54 kg weight difference made the car feel so, so special. And in races i've won from big 6 cilinder bmw's , stock r33 gtr's , evo's , etc.... Now producing 284.6 hp @ 8.900 tpm, redline @ 9.300 tpm , and removed another 27 kg. Suffice to say it's an real miniature animal right now 🤪
Your 3.4 boxster will be a completely different car if you chose to do a full custom map, K&N Performance filters , and a full exhaust front to back with sportscat.... as you say 3.4, its probably a 987 or 981 boxster , i had a 981 boxster s (stock 315hp ) , i dynoed it stock and it had a very healthy 293 whp , as porsche always underquotes there cars hp. Adding drivetrain loss of 15%, means it had 336 hp stock 🙂 After some sharkwerks 200 cell sportscat, a full custom exhaust, and a custom tune , we've made 338 whp.thats 388 crank hp. And really , it's a whole different car for not a CRAZY amount of money ! I would surely recommend it 🙂
AND if it's a manual, the best way to make your car feel way faster , is some shorter gears , or final drive ... cause the really long gears hinders the acceleration a bit. It will bring your topspeed down a LITTLE bit , but your not hitting that on a daily basis. So you'll have more of a sporty and involving feeling car! All things combined ,It really makes a HUGE difference 😀 Enjoy your car mate, drive safe
Install the Eventuri carbon intake + carbon lid + carbon plenum. The sound it makes is from another dimension. Please don't install the Akrapovic exhaust, a waste of money for the awuful sound it ( doesn't ) make. The Eventuri full carbon intake will make you want to sleep inside the car. It's 5 times more intoxicating than the already awesome V8 sound the car makes.
371whp is more like 430 crank... not sure how these guys did their math or if this is some different type of dyno. 371/0.85 = 436 crank horsepower when factoring in a 15% drivetrain loss which is actually conservative for a DCT
I’m here to tell you right now the baseline dyno of “371whp” is fucking WRONG. With a full exhaust, intake, and tune these cars MAX at 355-375 give or take a few. A legit bone stock baseline is prob 315-330

Adding drivetrain loss of 15%, means it had 336 hp stock 🙂
After some sharkwerks 200 cell sportscat, a full custom exhaust, and a custom tune , we've made 338 whp.thats 388 crank hp.
All things combined ,It really makes a HUGE difference 😀
Enjoy your car mate, drive safe
akrapovic must be the first mod
Cheaped out hard on those brakes lol
They’ve done the job so far 🏁 why you think we needed AP’s l
Awesome! What kind of cameras do you film with?
Install the Eventuri carbon intake + carbon lid + carbon plenum. The sound it makes is from another dimension. Please don't install the Akrapovic exhaust, a waste of money for the awuful sound it ( doesn't ) make. The Eventuri full carbon intake will make you want to sleep inside the car. It's 5 times more intoxicating than the already awesome V8 sound the car makes.
When will the next update come for this car
No dyno post tune?
I want to get an m3 aswell...turn it into a time attack monster.
👌🏾💪🏾👌🏾💪🏾👌🏾👌🏾
akra!
371whp is more like 430 crank... not sure how these guys did their math or if this is some different type of dyno. 371/0.85 = 436 crank horsepower when factoring in a 15% drivetrain loss which is actually conservative for a DCT
akrapovic exhaust?
Why not Pilot Sport 4 S ?
they don't do them in the sizes we require :(
@@scd Which size, please?
what about the exhaust??
That is next! What would you go for?
Those tyres looked like PS4S?
Yep 🙌🙌🙌
Eh??? 371hp at the wheels is aver 430 at the crank. Modern Auto, RWD will loose about 15-17%.
Carbon airbox
tempting but not exactly cheap!
The first thing you should have done is change the big end bearings. Hope it doesn't blow up on you. Because it's not a matter of if but when.
Is it even a BMW anymore after you fondled with it
No it’s our project car 😅
I’m here to tell you right now the baseline dyno of “371whp” is fucking WRONG. With a full exhaust, intake, and tune these cars MAX at 355-375 give or take a few.
A legit bone stock baseline is prob 315-330
I literally just finished my built on my E92 M3!!! Check it out on my channel
Ah awesome, will do! thanks
Cool car but, for it's intended purpose, I would have gone with something lower cost and just as fast like a Mustang GT from the same period.
Noooooooo 😂
TheSUPERCARDRIVER Oh yes 👍
