I also had an E90 (not an M3 because in Europe nobody drives an M3, everybody drives the 320d), well, it had turn signals ... and they worked just fine. The rest of the car I don't remember, but the turn signals were the best !
Yay Doug reviews a car I’ve actually owned! And one I had extensively researched before purchasing, a few things to note: -I was surprised at Doug’s non-explanation of the Power button. It’s for the sensitivity of the throttle pedal. Its doesnt actually effect engine power at all, just makes the throttle more sensitive and makes the throttle map’s 100% WOT at say only 3/4 of the pedal travel compared to being at the very end of the pedal travel with it in Normal. It can also be configured for your M Mode so pressing the M button on the wheel will activate it along with your other settings (dampers, servotronic steering, DCS MDM) -Surprised Doug didnt mention the carbon leather trim. It’s a desirable option for buyers. Cloth seats are very rare too, its not part of some ‘enthusiast’ package like Doug mentioned, but most of these cars just came with the Novillo leather (mine had red). -You can get the adjustable dampers outside of the Competition package, it was part of the tech package and even available al carte in the early pre LCI years iirc. The only difference with the Competition pkge ones was the Sport setting was retuned and now was dynamic like the Comfort and Normal settings. -Don’t think that’s a rear armrest Doug. That piece pops out to allow the ski pass through (car has cold weather package), the little panel behind it is a door that opens into the trunk. You can see the little door when he drops the seats when he’s going over the trunk quirks. -Doug kept mentioning the V8 but didnt mention its crazy redline of 8,250 rpms! How do you not mention that! This small V8 is a revver and not torquey, I’m glad he did mention its characteristic of being high revving and not having grunt down low though. Also surprised he didn’t point out the warmup gauge around the tachometer that slowly reduces from red to yellow into the redline when you cold start the car as a quirk! -He mentions the steering, it feels great cause its hydraulic. Last M car to have it, the M3/4 after this one have electric steering. -This particular car also has the enhanced premium audio option, you can tell from the silver rings around the speakers (compared to black on the base audio) -In case anyone cares, mine was a 2011 Space Grey Competition Package (ZCP) with 6MT :)
I believe Doug missed all of this, because he isn't really into this car. You can tell that he isn't very enthusiastic as in other videos and that's okay. Thank you for the additional info only one question though, since you said you "owned" one, what car do you drive now?
I truly believe this era of turn signal was superior in design, but people unfortunately did not know how to use them. There were two "levels" of signaling like in any car. if you pushed it lightly, the signal would blink three times to indicate say a lane change on the highway. If you moved it all the way, the blinker would stay on until you completed your turn; also like any other car. What people had a difficult time with was turning it off because they would push the stalk all the way in the opposite direction when they really only needed to bump it to the "3 blinks" level to deactivate it. With some practice you see the reasoning behind the design as it does not click back into place when you complete a turn, but rather remains silent and gives the car a more premium feeling. I wish more manufacturers had caught onto this trend and allowed more people to become accustomed to it.
Doug: The center temperature dial is there so that you can have cold air on your face when the heat is on. Warm air on your face makes you sleepy on long drives, so the cold air keeps you awake without the rest of your body being cold.
To add a bit more info, it doesn't change the target temperature of the car. If you set the temperature to 75, the car will maintain 75 degrees even if you have the face vents set full cold by compensating with other vents. It's like that on my E46 and my F82 as well. It's an awesome feature!
Have had BMWs for more than a decade and this is the explanation I have been missing. Hated the middle dial. Would like to have a toggle of some sort for it to be manual or automatic.
@@Kowen8714 leave it in the middle and the car handles it. Move it to one side or the other and you make it colder/warmer than what the car is choosing.
BMW really was smart in putting their experimental turbocharged engine in the 335i instead of the M3. For all the praise the N54 got and still gets due to being a highly capable engine, reliability issues would’ve really tarnished the M3 had that engine been used instead of the V8. I own a modified N54 335i, driven e9x M3s and even though people say a modified 335i is an “M killer”, I say that the M3 is another beast in its own right
@@Akac3sh honestly, it all boils down to the direction in which you want to take the car. The e9x M3 comes from the factory with basically everything better performance wise, except for the low-end torque which is still basically not a big deal considering that the M3 can rev way higher than a 335i. But, if you spend enough $ modifying a 335i, then you can pretty much reach beyond M3 levels of power. That said, you have to consider that the M3 has better suspension, braking, and other systems that the 335i doesn’t have, and these are expensive to upgrade. Both cars have reliability issues that need to be addressed (rod bearings for the M3 and hpfp, lpfp and water pump for the 335i, for example). If you’re willing to put big money into a 335i, you can make well above 700whp and have a track car. If you don’t want to spend that much money and still have a powerful car, the M3 is more than capable
@@Akac3sh E92 M3 doesn't really have reliability issues, but there may be things that fail. The cars handle beating fairly well. I prefer and own M3 since obviously it's the fastest of them all and you can tune the engine for more power, and tune the DCT. The M3 has a phenomenal driving experience to where I prefer it as my daily driver and a Gallardo as a weekend car.
He makes really bad job here to show how those turn signals work. The switch goes "half way" for 3 blinks and also this cancels the blinkers if you turn them fully on (switch all the way for one direction). Out of all the cars I've driven, I actually prefer BMWs design. Those blinkers are perfect for highway cruising and switching lanes and really easy to get used to.
Being from SoCal, Doug can be excused for not understanding the separate climate control for the center vent. If your from somewhere with really cold winters and your cold to your bones, you want to jump in your car and crank the heat. After awhile though you might start feeling warmer, but if you start feeling drowsy, what better than to blow some refreshing cold air on your face, while keeping your feet warm. It's a safety feature -- keeping you awake.
Yes it's not only that too: Sometimes it's just nice to override the base temperature of the climate control and tweak it a bit. In my camaro, the air is always pushed out way too cold once it reaches the temperature
I thought also it allowed BMW to just change which side the longer one is attached to allow a single point of manufacture to suit RHD or LHD (the shorter part allowing for upward travel of the handbrake on whichever side of the console the handbrake is situated)
@@BigRoss5150Gaming My friend has an e46 2.0 turbodiesel with M packet and it literally has the same shifter and that car is from like 1998 or 20-something. The inside is dated AF, the exterior is nice but doesn't stand a chance against the new 3series and definitely look more than just dated in a side by side comparison.
@@footballskills2982 but not as much as bmw they need expensive OEM parts and the car is too hard to work on no room to much plastic junk so more labor= $$$$
...demonstrating how picayune, as opposed to truly detail-oriented, Doug is. He notices that the split cushion arm rest opens as a single unit...can't figure it out...and proceeds to make fun of it...never realizing that it is split because the driver's side cushion is shorter, to provide clearance for the applied position of the parking brake lever. When the lever is down, the cushion may be moved forward into a more desirable position under the driver's forearm. Actually, a nice touch...that know-it-all Doug completely misses.
3:23 That arrow on the key fob makes sense on lower trim 3-series of that era without keyless entry as that arrow would indicate which end of the key you insert into the car below start button. EDIT: I love how this got so much attention even if I said keyless entry when I really meant comfort access. Others have said in the comments that older BMW have this kind of arrow so I stand corrected.
David Best My E92 has keyless entry and I have push button start, I still have to stick my key in the key slot. Comfort access, that’s when you don’t have to stick the key in the slot on the dash, the door also auto nicely unlocks when you have the key on you and wave your hand near the door handle.
Also, hold down the unlock and the windows go down, hold the lock and the windows roll up and mirrors fold in (in certain markets). I use it all the time to close the sunroof.
The center armrest is split in two because the driver side can move forward and extend itself. Also the point of that extra manual dial on the climate control is so that you can get cold air blowing on you while the car is keeping the temperature warm by blowing hot air from the other vents, like on those days where you are cold, but you feel uncomfortable having too hot air being blown in your face.
@@SavedbyHim everyone makes mistakes. Hard to expect him to be perfect when he reviews a ton of cars per month and is only given this M3 for probably around a few hours
If everyone thought like you there would be better examples of the e30 m3. Shit even the e46. So many people buy these used without considering the repair bill and end up driving these beauties into the ground.
TheRedPotatoYT the car actually handles quite well in the winter on snow tires but to your point, yeah, why destroy a nice car in the winter when you can pick up something that runs for 2-3k or so.
Turn signal: double click for full turns or when you want it to stay on. Single click for when you are just changing lanes. Single click in the same direction of the turn can also be used for turning off a double click.
As a little summary about the quirks that might be too confusing: 1. Turn Signals The turn signals are actually quite easy to understand. Push once lightly is 3 (or one, configurable in the on board computer) signals, pushing it lightly and holding it activates the indicators for as long as you are holding the lever and finally, if you push the lever beyond that little resistance it activates it until a certain steering angle has been reached and returned from. Deactivating the permanent signaling is achieved by either pushing it to, but not beyond the resistance, the opposite direction or just tap it lightly in the same direction Once you use them accordingly, they are exactly what you need in every situation. 2. Secondary Climate Control Dial That dial in the center that He thinks is overriding the settings done in the main AC cluster is actually only controlling the front fan's temperature. The overall temperature that is set will still be targeted by all the other thousands of vents in the car. The reasoning behind that is, that you might want to have a litte more hot or cold air blown towards you. Example: An extremely hot day. You get into your BMW and turn on the AC. But instead of being blown with frozen air you might want to have a mild breeze that won't freeze your eyeballs. Turn that dial towards hotter air (red). Another example: An extremely cold day. Same thing, you want things to heat up quickly and the climate control does so by blowing very hot air into the cell. You might hate that and want air that is just a little lower than what otherwise would give you first degree burns. Turn that dial towards colder air (blue) If you are fine with how the AC and climate control works: Set it centered. It's a drivers preference thing, not an overall climate control. So yes. It's brilliant. :) 3. Fond of the Coupé (A coop is where chickens live.) While it is true that there is not a lot of nice things left to whoever has to sit back there, but he completely washes over the fact, that the rear passengers actually have the same climate bias dial as the front row. Also there are not a lot of coupé style cars from that era who even had vents back there. As someone who owned both versions (E90 325d LCI and E92 335d LCI, both maximum spec) the back seats in the coupé are actually more comfy than those in the sedan since they are a bit more like a bucket seat. Probably to get the rear passengers lower down since the roof lowers "quicker" than in the sedan. However I cannot confirm that personally since I'm very tall and also the owner. I will never sit back there. It is true, that the moving slide is a bit annoying if someone has to leave the back row rather quickly, but it prevents those buffoons from scratching your entryway with their belts or purses or whatever shit they think they need. As he said though, if you plan on taking more than one person with you on a very regular basis, consider the E90.
Another good use for this was how I'd use it. I'd play golf in late November or early December. It would be freezing, but my core would stay warm from all the activity. The feet however would freeze. So in the car I'd set it to as hot as it gets to blow on my feet. Then I'd also regulate the temp on the top to blow coldish air so I don't pass out from a heatstroke :D it's pretty brilliant indeed. Btw this would be in my e63.. The way that thing is set up, you basically get not a dual zone climate control but almost like a 2.5 or 3 zone climate control :D very good stuff
Ive had many types of M's over the years, including a 2019 M4 which I drive now. However, the E46 was my favorite of them all so far. Also, it hurts my heart the "manual" is becoming a thing of the past. It's blasphemous.
New M3/M4 will have "pure" package with manual. Only problem is, I don't want a basic car, I want individual leather AND manual :) I currently have 2011 e92 M3 individual leather with manual. with 30k miles, looks like new.
You'll love it. I have a near identical one to featured here, 2011. Only purchased 2 yr.s ago with 44k miles, from moderate climate state and crucially--ONE previous owner. Many have 4 or 5 previous owners, to me that means no one "owned it" they only rented.
@William Crawford Cars are in general and this one a lot more than average. I didn't even think about it until my home was paid off along with everything else and you can't afford it if you can't pay cash up front IMO, with significant reserves leftover. That's true for any car beyond bare necessity.
This is the first time I’ve seen doug review a car I actually own, the whole time I was like: Hey I know that! Edit: The most likes I’ve ever gotten and a ❤️ from Doug! Wow, Dougcember really is magical.
I have an 2012 E92M3 that i bought new in 2012. 35000km (about 20k miles) (I do not have competition package). Nice to hear and see such an extensive report after all these years. I still remember when i saw the car on it's launch in 2007. I was immediatly in love !

I'm at 9:58 and couldn't make it to the end without just having to comment... Doug, you are clutching at straws, the indicators are fine, the centre console is fine, the climate adjustment for the air con is fine and the cup holders are fine. You really need to live with an E92 M3 for more than one afternoon to appreciate this beast.
Driving M3s 8 years. Had a 46 smg, 92 manual and now an a dct 92..have this one 3 years. Best car ever. Literally amazing. Also over the 3 cars, the only issue I’ve had was the throttle actuators on my current car. Happened at 40k miles. Cost less than 500 euros to replace, no big deal. For me overall, M3’s are extremely well built, robust, bullet proof cars. Just warm them up properly and you won’t have issues. Don’t believe the hype online, that’s all it is
@Gm Srt just the perfect blend of luxury and performance. And the fact that the S65 is one of the greatest engines ever in my opinion. I know own a giulia quadrifoglio, another amazing car. But still miss my dct e92 m3
9:17 as a recent BMW owner I’m in love with this feature. On cold climates here in Canada, I don’t necessarily want hot air blowing down my face but I want my legs and feet to be warm. I keep the dial on cool so it just blows air that’s not too hot/not too cools then set the climate controls to warm to warm my legs and feet to keep the temperatures staggered.

That dial on the center air vents is brilliant. I would love that in my car. I never understood why noone does this - basically 2 zone climate control, but instead of horizontal split you get vertical split. It makes sense, because heat rises, you want different temperature up on your face than near your legs. And in summer, your legs are cold when you have ac on while the sun makes your body hot
My 2012 Range Rover has a lot of BMW bits, including the individual temperature dial in the center. I like it but I guarantee my wife will leave it on heat come this summer or cold when the next winter hits and be uncomfortable unbeknownst to her. Lol.
The luck Of One i was shocked lmao. My e92 335i has an actual armrest there that’s really nice and has slide out cup holders similar to the ones up front
@@cirapsag yep, I have this car, the split armrest is for sliding the driver side forward, and when you use the ebrake, it goes back into place. It's pretty awesome to be able to move it and not have it in the way when not needes
I'll trade you my Schwinn bicycle for it. I even put on aftermarket pegs about 200 miles ago when I took it into the shop to get my chain oiled. It's quite the pussy magnet too.
I've said this before, I actually love the turn signals, they do an even "return" so when you return to center it finishes the sequence so the blink doesn't stop mid cycle. It's hard to explain lol but it's a cool attention to detail item that I've always liked from BMW.
I’m a previous F-chassis M6 owner. IMO the dial is actually useful, when you want cooler or warmer air and you are used to set your AC to auto at 73 all year around. In my other cars, 73 feels really different in summer and winter.
Why don't you just turn the temperature up or down using the normal controls? I mean...what difference does it make? You want hot air blowing on you from one side, and cold from the other?
@@earnestbunbury2103 You only need to adjust the dial that controls the vents that are blowing on you, lol. Doug said that dial near the center only controls the center vents, which I assume means the one for you and your passenger, so, you'd have to mess around with the other controls anyway. Unless the only way you want heat/AC is directly on your face.
7 years ago I owned a white E92 325i with M-Sport package. It was the best, the fastest and coolest looking car I ever owned at the time. Seeing this video of a white E92 again still confirms it's one of the best looking cars I've seen. Fast forward to today and I'm the proud owner of an E90 M3 Competition in Jerez Black. Nice color, but not as sweet as a white coupe. I advise every car enthousiast to at least drive this car once in their life. Words can't describe the feeling of this car.
The drivers side of the split armrest can actually slide forward when the e-brake is down. That way you can rest your right arm while holding the steering wheel.
I nodded at a guy in one of these at a light to like show my appreciation for his awesome car. He interpreted it as me challenging him to race. I drive an E46 325 and it ended predictably.
1. You have to hold EDC for 5 seconds to turn it off completely, then a red light comes up on the dash 2. Atmrest is split so driver side can slide forward 3. Blue and red dial is a brilliant thing that all BMW s have, climate will still maintain cabin temperature, but you can quickly choose temperature of the air that blows to your face 4. In the rear you could spec car to have ashtray and lighter and that middle cubby can be swapped for cupholders 5. Second sidemirrow pole is for aerodynamics 6. Can continue... But you've got the point. Love your show but pls do your research 🙏
I’ve dreamt about owning one of these for 10 years... Edit - obviously I understand that 2013 is less then 10 years ago, the E92 was produced from 2007 to 2013. Hence 10 years ago I was dreaming of owning a 2009 BMW E92 M3 🙄

Polizistenduzer. Please educate Doug. Some of us have cold feet. The purpose of that switch is to have your freezing feet worm up with out baking ur upper body. Its the only reason I buy BMW cars. Other cars are too uncomfortable
I was going to say the same thing. I have actually used this. After surfing in the winter in California, your feet are cold even though it's 70 degrees out so you have a/c up top and heat on your feet. If you wear sandals a lot it's a nice feature.

the turn signals in the E90's are really awesome once you figure out how they operate. I had the mset up to do one blink for each short lever movement, and consistent blinking for a full movement up or down. you do one short movement in the direction you're signaling to turn it off. It is weird at first but after you get used to it, you kinda wish all turn signals worked like this. And the tactile feel is really awesome.
E30 wayyyyy first. Then e46. The e30 was built just for racing, needed for homologation. The rest were just 3 series then upgraded to performance cars. @@sleepy35th they still make the M3, they never stopped. Just that the f30 and up M3s are sedans and the M4s are the coupes. Which I think is ass backwards. Since the original was just a coupe. And the e46 was only a coupe.
@ 9:23 the “over ride dial” is not for the entire system. With the bottom dial you can run the heater for those long night drives but as you get sleepy you can “over ride” the fans that blow at your face to blow cold air while the rest of the system still keeps you warm with the heater. It’s actually a super amazing German engineering feature I really appreciate.
I haven't personally sat in the e92 m3 but I have sat in a normal 3 series e92 and it had the normal supported hinge type. I think it might be tied to this specific spec of seat choice. Still ridiculous nonetheless, but who really buys an e92 or any two door sports car for passengers anyway?
Opel/Vauxhall had the same style of turn signals in 1990s and early 2000s. I never got, why. Citroen tried in 1970s and 1980s rocker-button turn signals without autoreturn, so you flipped switch to turn tun signal on and that you must turn it off yourself. Weird but to be fair, I got used to it.
So on the additional wheel control for the center air ducts. It is brilliant because it let's you quickly mix in fresh cold air from the outside without fiddling with the ac digital settings so it kinda adds a separate stream of air into the car. I use it all the time.

Yay Doug reviews a car I’ve actually owned! And one I had extensively researched before purchasing, a few things to note:
-I was surprised at Doug’s non-explanation of the Power button. It can also be configured for your M Mode so pressing the M button on the wheel will activate it along with your other settings (dampers, servotronic steering, DCS MDM)
-Surprised Doug didnt mention the carbon leather trim.
-This particular car also has the enhanced premium audio option, you can tell from the silver rings around the speakers (compared to black on the base audio)
-In case anyone cares, mine was a 2011 Space Grey Competition Package (ZCP) with 6MT :)
Machine Spirit Miami proves that Doug has no clue about the cars he’s “reviewing”.
The other thing is that both the E60 M5 and the E92 M3 came with both versions of idrive depending on the model year.
@@mihaiivan8649 almost 25 minutes of quirks and you wanna act like a bitch about a few missed ones huh?
I believe Doug missed all of this, because he isn't really into this car. You can tell that he isn't very enthusiastic as in other videos and that's okay. Thank you for the additional info only one question though, since you said you "owned" one, what car do you drive now?
Has your engine blown up yet?
Tesla has adopted it lmao

Doug: The center temperature dial is there so that you can have cold air on your face when the heat is on. Warm air on your face makes you sleepy on long drives, so the cold air keeps you awake without the rest of your body being cold.
To add a bit more info, it doesn't change the target temperature of the car. If you set the temperature to 75, the car will maintain 75 degrees even if you have the face vents set full cold by compensating with other vents. It's like that on my E46 and my F82 as well. It's an awesome feature!
Also really nice having a phone holder there, during winter phone would overheat. But This way I can adjust and cool the phone.
Have had BMWs for more than a decade and this is the explanation I have been missing. Hated the middle dial. Would like to have a toggle of some sort for it to be manual or automatic.
@@Kowen8714 leave it in the middle and the car handles it. Move it to one side or the other and you make it colder/warmer than what the car is choosing.
also some people point it into the rear of the car for the people in the back because their air vent is super small.
BMW really was smart in putting their experimental turbocharged engine in the 335i instead of the M3. For all the praise the N54 got and still gets due to being a highly capable engine, reliability issues would’ve really tarnished the M3 had that engine been used instead of the V8.
I own a modified N54 335i, driven e9x M3s and even though people say a modified 335i is an “M killer”, I say that the M3 is another beast in its own right
You are right! E92 M3 handles like a dream.
@@ravszee In my experience driving them, I feel it lacks a little torque for my taste, but it’s not meant to have low-end torque so I’m fine with it
So what is the smartest option? A modded 335 or a m3?
After seeing how complicated those turn signals are I understand why BMW drivers don’t use turn signals.
YB 😂😂😂
They’re not that complicated as he made them out to be. If you half click them up they cancel.
I never had any problems with those turn signals. Some people are just overly stupid.
Lol found the guys who don't use their turn signals

Being from SoCal, Doug can be excused for not understanding the separate climate control for the center vent. If your from somewhere with really cold winters and your cold to your bones, you want to jump in your car and crank the heat. After awhile though you might start feeling warmer, but if you start feeling drowsy, what better than to blow some refreshing cold air on your face, while keeping your feet warm. It's a safety feature -- keeping you awake.

07:15 you can move the left one closer to the gear stick if you want, that's why it's separated.
It's actually an option on the lower trim level ones. You either get a single fixed one or a split adjustable one as the one in the video
Indeed, one of the coolest things about it.
...demonstrating how picayune, as opposed to truly detail-oriented, Doug is.
TheVin227 It’s for cars without comfort access. Keyless entry is not putting the key in the door to unlock it, most newer cars have this.
No1 Famous but cars without keyless entry didn’t have push button start hence you had to put the key into its dedicated slot
David Best My E92 has keyless entry and I have push button start, I still have to stick my key in the key slot. Comfort access, that’s when you don’t have to stick the key in the slot on the dash, the door also auto nicely unlocks when you have the key on you and wave your hand near the door handle.
@@No1Famous617 BMW has been using the "up" arrow as the unlock on their cars since 1993 and it has nothing to do with comfort access.
Yeah it's like a quick control. ASAP

I wish doug can review the BMW M5 F10
Doug - the quirk guy
@@maxpetruccelli5444 the king dork of the car review world
Lol
As a little summary about the quirks that might be too confusing:
1. Turn Signals
The turn signals are actually quite easy to understand. Push once lightly is 3 (or one, configurable in the on board computer) signals, pushing it lightly and holding it activates the indicators for as long as you are holding the lever and finally, if you push the lever beyond that little resistance it activates it until a certain steering angle has been reached and returned from. Deactivating the permanent signaling is achieved by either pushing it to, but not beyond the resistance, the opposite direction or just tap it lightly in the same direction
Once you use them accordingly, they are exactly what you need in every situation.
2. Secondary Climate Control Dial
That dial in the center that He thinks is overriding the settings done in the main AC cluster is actually only controlling the front fan's temperature.
Turn that dial towards colder air (blue)
If you are fine with how the AC and climate control works: Set it centered. It's a drivers preference thing, not an overall climate control.
So yes. It's brilliant. :)
3. Fond of the Coupé (A coop is where chickens live.)
While it is true that there is not a lot of nice things left to whoever has to sit back there, but he completely washes over the fact, that the rear passengers actually have the same climate bias dial as the front row.
Then I'd also regulate the temp on the top to blow coldish air so I don't pass out from a heatstroke :D
it's pretty brilliant indeed. Btw this would be in my e63.. The way that thing is set up, you basically get not a dual zone climate control but almost like a 2.5 or 3 zone climate control :D very good stuff

Hello and Welcome
6:55 it is split in half because the left part of the armrest can be moved forward.
This is was one of the greatest time in BMW history.
A M3 with a V8, a M5 and M6 with a V10.
I miss that times.
It can slide forward with the hand break up as well. No problemo.
When I read rest your right arm I got confused for a second then I remembered you guys are LHD
I nodded at a guy in one of these at a light to like show my appreciation for his awesome car. He interpreted it as me challenging him to race. I drive an E46 325 and it ended predictably.
325i gang except i have the e90 body
His car went into limp mode and you smoked him.
1993 325i here ... and his sub-frame fell out and the 325i smoked him.
E60 550i here, dont u know the culture? All we do is chase each other to look at nimbers on the back, and race race race
Mom: “Hey did you turn off the stove”
Me: “Yes this isn’t the first time, let’s go”
Mom: “Lemme just check one more time”
Me: 6:01
7 more years then you can move out, stay strong brother!
hahahahah dying
1. You have to hold EDC for 5 seconds to turn it off completely, then a red light comes up on the dash
2. Atmrest is split so driver side can slide forward
3. Blue and red dial is a brilliant thing that all BMW s have, climate will still maintain cabin temperature, but you can quickly choose temperature of the air that blows to your face
4. In the rear you could spec car to have ashtray and lighter and that middle cubby can be swapped for cupholders
5. Second sidemirrow pole is for aerodynamics
6. Can continue... But you've got the point. Love your show but pls do your research 🙏
I’ve dreamt about owning one of these for 10 years...
Edit - obviously I understand that 2013 is less then 10 years ago, the E92 was produced from 2007 to 2013. Hence 10 years ago I was dreaming of owning a 2009 BMW E92 M3 🙄
then go buy 1
Liam Kendrick they’re going down in price! high $20’s to about mid $30’s rn. Definitely eyeing one. Feel like the first and probably last V8 M3 will become a classic. And it’s so much fun to drive.
@@wazi13 it will..why would Doug do it?
Specs are crazy...plus can be tuned..
@@wazi13 here in the uk, a good one is like £14-15k
now is the time to buy. They're reaching the bottom of the depreciation curve and you can still grab one with a fat warranty so you can drive the pants off of it w/o issue
@doug about the temperature dial in the middle: BMWs intension was cool head, warm feet. Was introduced in the E32 already.
Polizistenduzer. Please educate Doug. Some of us have cold feet. The purpose of that switch is to have your freezing feet worm up with out baking ur upper body. Its the only reason I buy BMW cars. Other cars are too uncomfortable
J Kay or in the winter you turn the dial and it’s almost instantly hot
I was going to say the same thing. I have actually used this. After surfing in the winter in California, your feet are cold even though it's 70 degrees out so you have a/c up top and heat on your feet. If you wear sandals a lot it's a nice feature.
Having owned one, that center vent dial has the advantage of allowing you to keep your upper body cool or cold day when the sun shines on you upper body. I have missed it ever sense. As far as the repair bills, I don't miss them. By far the most expensive to repair car I have ever owned. But also the best handling. I don't think Doug did it justice on the handling score. There is a reason tons of people race these.
Gotta pick up them TOOLSSSS BOYY AND DO IT YOURSELF saves alot of money and you learn more about the car and you feel way more acomplished when the beauty is back on the road
@@connorbuhrlage382 If I had the space with a garage, lift and tools I definitely would but not everyone has that ability
@@strangeclouds7 if you can afford a m3 you can afford the tools there not that much honestly but a lift you dont even need for real
@@connorbuhrlage382 Yeah buying the tools n shi isn't a big deal my problem is I just don't have space or anywhere to store everything. I live in an urban area with no garage or storage space. Sux
@@strangeclouds7 I own a 335i e92 which is way more unreliable then the m3 and I have never needed a lift even to put my catless downpipes on and it really wasnt even that hard just tedious and i didnt even have a swivel........😴
the turn signals in the E90's are really awesome once you figure out how they operate. I had the mset up to do one blink for each short lever movement, and consistent blinking for a full movement up or down. you do one short movement in the direction you're signaling to turn it off. It is weird at first but after you get used to it, you kinda wish all turn signals worked like this. And the tactile feel is really awesome.
The last two door M3. The last M3 to come with a naturally aspirated engine. The ONLY M3 to come with a V8 engine.
the new two door m3 is the m4
This is incorrect. The E46 M3 GTR had a V8.
One of the best sounding M cars ever.
E60 M5 is #1
My list:
E46 M3
E92 M3
E30 M3
E36 M3.
and i dont have much left over for the outgoing one or the upcoming one.
Kristian Larsen well that’s because it’s technically now called an M4

You don’t like the F80? It’s a beautiful car give it that at least
E30 wayyyyy first. Then e46. The e30 was built just for racing, needed for homologation. The rest were just 3 series then upgraded to performance cars. E30 body only shares only the hood with the 3 series. Completely different care. As for the ones after were just small changes to the outside of the car and the drivetrain and suspension.
@@sleepy35th they still make the M3, they never stopped. Just that the f30 and up M3s are sedans and the M4s are the coupes. Which I think is ass backwards. Since the original was just a coupe. And the e46 was only a coupe.
E36 m3
E30 m3
E46 m3
E92 m3
@ 9:23 the “over ride dial” is not for the entire system. With the bottom dial you can run the heater for those long night drives but as you get sleepy you can “over ride” the fans that blow at your face to blow cold air while the rest of the system still keeps you warm with the heater. It’s actually a super amazing German engineering feature I really appreciate.
The owner of this car is sooo luckyy my dream car

I haven't personally sat in the e92 m3 but I have sat in a normal 3 series e92 and it had the normal supported hinge type. I think it might be tied to this specific spec of seat choice. Still ridiculous nonetheless, but who really buys an e92 or any two door sports car for passengers anyway?

Nope, that's just because we are assholes.
E46 turn signals have a great solid feel.
Los Pollos Hermanos I drive a g30 with the new different turn signal stock and I can confirm it’s because we are assholes
Opel/Vauxhall had the same style of turn signals in 1990s and early 2000s. I never got, why. Citroen tried in 1970s and 1980s rocker-button turn signals without autoreturn, so you flipped switch to turn tun signal on and that you must turn it off yourself. Weird but to be fair, I got used to it.
they’ve simply transcended above the peasants who use turn signals on roads. mine and other road user’s safety? nah I drive a bmw
Bmw R&D: have you finished the design of the backseat's armrest?
Trainee: yes
So on the additional wheel control for the center air ducts. It is brilliant because it let's you quickly mix in fresh cold air from the outside without fiddling with the ac digital settings so it kinda adds a separate stream of air into the car. I use it all the time.
2013 feels like yesterday. When Doug says “from this era” it makes me feel old 😭😭😭

S65 Rod Bearings: very "reliable" and very "cool"
I’ve owned one from new for 10 years, and I love it more than any of the 5 other M3’s I’ve had. It was given the full Dinan list of mods including the shorter geared differential, and the throttle response is crazy - plus it has a sound & soul you won’t hear again in an M3.
Whats the differential ratio you changed?
I remember when we bought a e90 330 back in 2005, the salesman told me you can have cold air blow on your face to keep awake while other space is warm.
This exactly!
6/10 styling??? This car has noflaws I say 10/10. If you count the unfinished front lip then MAYBE 8/10
I’d like to note that rear cup holders and a hinged centre armrest were available options
Thats the problem with a lot of premium German cars though. If they could get away with it carpets, heater, glass and a fukin steering wheel would be a $10000 option. Total Grinchy bastards. Merc used to be bad in Europe too. I think German car specs in the USA are much higher than Europe as the Americans are used to gadgets being standard.
The second mirror cross bar is there for aero, Doug. It reduces buffering significantly.
