I think we should start a gofundme for Doug specifically to buy a Carrera GT. at $1 per subscriber he’d be more than set. The caveat is that he’d have to hold a raffle every month to give one of his donors a drive in the car.

14:03 The center locks aren't crossed threaded, they are reverse threaded (they tighten to the left) Cross threaded means the threads are messed up and u can not tighten them down.
Funny, I was just thinking I would be fearful of accidentally cross threading the one big center hub lock, when Doug then misuses the cross threaded term. He misspeaks a lot lately I have noticed. Like I watched a review a while back where he complained about a 370z not having a spare when the rubber of the spare could be seen under a panel in the shot. Which was odd being that he spends so much time focusing on details.
Doug, I am so glad you got a GT. Seeing the smile on your face while driving this car, and knowing that you would buy one a few years later, is awesome! Good job my friend. My '16 GTI SE 6MT with 165k miles, dents, and a misfiring cylinder #1 is waiting for your review.
Also, I’ve never seen one in person but I’d wager the “red” side is standard right-hand threaded. That’s why they are different colors on different sides. It’s very common on machinery that rotates otherwise the nuts would loosen as the wheel spins.
Doug Demuro: "Of course you don't have to use it for the luggage, you can use it as hidden storage and nobody would know about it" ( door) Also Doug: shows 131,000 people how to open the "Secret" storage compartment

As is the usual with trade-ins, ALL of us got to spend some time with her (couldn't find a buyer for weeks!!!!) and I share *everything* Doug says. ESPECIALLY the driver's position and controls. I've never sat in a more comfortable car that was waiting for me to be the last piece of the puzzle. - A year later we were doing a Brian Redman Vintage event down at Roebling Road and a husband and wife had a his and hers they'd run between sessions. It was absolutely fascinating to see how fast and smooth they moved around the track. Truly beautiful and special machines. Probably the ONLY car from that era I would buy if I could.
No, but every part of California has its own climate. Doug lives in San Diego, much closer to the coast than Jay does in Los Angeles, so he gets more varied weather. Jay Leno also probably has more guests who don’t want to bring their car out in the rain
The above comment more or less explained it, but yeah it's about how close to the coast you are. There's a thing called the "marine layer" where clouds/precipitation forms due to the difference in temperatures of the air sitting over land versus ocean. Jay is way inland in Burbank, separated by about 10 miles and the Beverly Hills from the Pacific whereas Doug I'm guessing is more like 1-3 miles from the ocean.

Standard for a supercar I guess?
Wait, which door is made outta of Fisher Price plastic?
Came to say almost the same thing. The fact that is not actually "a" panel, but it is made of many parts and materials makes matters worse.
I own a Mercedes with beautiful leather stitch work and aluminum and wood accents, strips and speaker covers, but the Carrera GT's door panel looks incredible!! I guess Doug has been in a lot of supercars and has gotten used to the carbon fiber.
plastic??
2024: THIS is Porsche Carrera GT and it's mine.
Wish You that Doug! 😉
I think we should start a gofundme for Doug specifically to buy a Carrera GT. at $1 per subscriber he’d be more than set. The caveat is that he’d have to hold a raffle every month to give one of his donors a drive in the car.
I wish we could see that some day. I bet he will just not be able to talk at the beginning of the video.
Why are you guys acting like Doug couldn't just go out and buy one tomorrow if he wanted to?
@@JoeBlue415 Imagine starting a gofundme for a dude that has a stable job. If you have extra money donate it to a charity, a good cause, a children's hospital, hell, any hospital. Or just save it for yourself. Donating to a RUclipsr who has a comfortable sub count is almost as bad as donating to BLM.
Alex Bubis Bruhhhhhhhhhhh
I'd love to hear Doug's thoughts on Gordon Murray's T.50, since that's a modern analogue sports car being developed purely to have the best possible driving feel. I imagine it would tick many of the same boxes as this car
I love that Doug brought back the exterior driving shots like he used to do way way back in the day. More of this, please.

That is not a car...
Its a piece of history!!!!
it is a car tho
14:03 The center locks aren't crossed threaded, they are reverse threaded (they tighten to the left) Cross threaded means the threads are messed up and u can not tighten them down.
Blue (right) nuts reverse threaded, Red (left) nuts "normal" thread. Both so they tighten as the wheels turn and not come undone :P
Caught this too haha. Cross-threading those wheel locks would be an expensive day...
Doug is the king of having one single detail he'll miss that has you like wha?
Like none of you ever make mistakes pfff
Doug: "This car is perfect!"
Doug Score: 71 out of 100
You’re one of those morons huh
be glad that just because it’s his favorite car doesn’t mean he’s automatically biased and scores it higher than he would other cars
48/50 weekend score is near perfect, obviously it's going to suck in daily category
PQTH can’t take a joke ?
Manuel Sousa how is that a joke? It’s not funny and it’s just another person that somehow doesn’t grasp dougs scoring system
When Doug loves a car so much he reviews it twice and makes the SECOND one longer
I feel like doug reviewed this again just to drive it again
Waiting for the next review in 2021? :D

His T-shirt: toes on the nose
Lmao. Honestly I respect that he wears basic ass clothes tho. Especially running a channel mostly about exotic cars
and the back reads: "make your *knees* touch your *elbows* "
If you’re reading his shirt you’re looking at the wrong thing
Alan Harper lol I was only joking, every aspect of his video is entertaining and informative
I honestly thought he was subtly pointing out his foot fetish or something, I had no idea it was a California-inspired clothing brand
Can’t let this one go.
The center lugs are ‘reverse’ threaded, not ‘cross’ threaded.
I heard cross threaded and immediately went looking to the comments to see how many people caught it lol
I also can't let this one go. They're left-hand threaded.
Cross-threaded is what a nut and bolt user does not want to hear.
I’ve seen cross threaded lugs on a Buick Regal before... pretty rare option
Also, I’ve never seen one in person but I’d wager the “red” side is standard right-hand threaded. That’s why they are different colors on different sides. It’s very common on machinery that rotates otherwise the nuts would loosen as the wheel spins.
Doug's eyes get DREAMY WHEN GOING FAST @36:33👀🤣👍
Doug Demuro: "Of course you don't have to use it for the luggage, you can use it as hidden storage and nobody would know about it" ( door)
Also Doug: shows 131,000 people how to open the "Secret" storage compartment
It’s going to be a lot more than that...
I mean, how often are you going to come across a Carrera GT for there to be even a chance that someone might steal stuff?
More like 3 million people...

Doug is the type of guy to have a wedding on the same date he saw a car
You should post that on Doug Discord Server
discord.gg/SWxqCGV
Any time he forgets his wedding anniversary, he remembers the day of the Carrera GT and adds a year.
This is the "Doug the type of guy" meme in its purest most accurate form 😅
His Mind is like " Oh Carrera GT anniversary" and then a few sec later... and also my Wedding anniversary
In 2006 I was working at a F-car dealer and we had one of these traded in.
Finally an updated version. I've been waiting for this for i don"t even know how long
Are there two "Californias" btw? In Jay Lenos California it never rains where in Dougs it seems to rain 1 out of 2 days....what the heck?
@@quentinboasso2212 You are right, but it not accurate to say that SD is closer to the coast since parts of the City of LA are on the beach, same as SD.
there are a dozen californias. I believe california has every climate except arctic tundra.
California is very big. I live near Mojave, it’s extremely dry and there are sand dunes.

Doug, I am so surprised that I have never seen your videos before. You are good because you go into all the finer details. You also mention all the negatives if there are any. I am so astounded that owners of these fine cars allow you to go through everything inside and outside the cars, even allowing you to drive them. You must be spending lots of time preparing the material before presenting all the details. Thank you and keep it up.

I really enjoy how well spoken and kind the owner is. Too many times (and especially with Porsche owners) they’re very stuck up and rude. If you’ve ever been to a PCA swap meet you know what i’m talking about. I guess I just enjoy when they’re just as excited to share their prized possession with others as they are to own it themselves. This guy gets it.
It's so, as my gf says, "adorable" how happy Doug is when talking about this car.
This! Doug's finest. You really feel the enjoyment.

It would be an awesome race between a McLaren F1 and a Carrera GT. Both have naturally aspirated V10's.
It's also my favorite car too. Listening to it was amazing.

Yes! he meant to say reverse thread. However, he said cross thread witch is what you do when You strip of nut onto a bolt i.e. the nut does not follow the thread of the bolt. However, anyone with exp knew what he meant and just moved on. As we all make speech mistakes sometimes.
Left hand thread instead of the normal right hand thread.

Shhh nobody can know
“The center lock wheel nuts on this car are cross threaded”
No - only the passenger side wheel nuts are reverse threaded, whereas the driver’s side nuts are standard threaded... hence the color coding. See opposite markings at 13:46 vs 14:08. This keeps them from loosening themselves while cornering / braking hard.
