We need an episode in the clone wars that focuses just on delta squad
You’re gonna be disappointed in s7 ep 1
@@Jaredowensss Fuck that, we need a Rogue one like R rated gritty war film where they save day the day, only to kill like 3 Jedi during order 66.
@@red_head_ginger562 OR, better yet, a new game with Delta Squad :) If that happened and was well executed I'd be happy beyond belief.
@@red_head_ginger562 Or an R rated movie that actually shows a battle in the clone wars where both sides suffer heavy losses and it’s a close battle, instead of *Ha Ha GoOD BoY ClOnEs MaSsACuRE BaD BoY DrOiDs* Edit and it should actually have a battle the separatists win
@@harrybob3221 an Awesome edition to that would be showing the separatists reasons for the war, and how they’re not that bad, only to show droids massacre a bunch of “good” clones, and at the end something with Palpatine smiling through his senate room window or something like that

Loved Republic commandos when i played it and still have a special place in my gaming love for them, great squad! now if only their inhibitor chips were removed....lmao
i did too love it
You'd love the book series too. I recommend it
PNR Comp Guy
Actually, some WERE removed. Most of Omega Squad deserted (2 stayed to be inside guys in the empire, Niner and Darman, after Niner was injured and Darmans Jedi wife was killed), Delta Squad stayed because they never had the chance to desert, several ARCs deserted (A-1, A-11, and I can’t remember general Zey’s Alpha ARC attendants’ name). And of course the Nulls gave the Empire the 1 finger salute. Commander Levet deserted, Corr (a new member of Omega Squad to replace Fi, who “died” and deserted), and several others I can’t think of off the top of my head. Not to mention the civilians who abandoned the Empire and married their clone sweethearts.
Those retarded chips didn't exist back then. Thank God
Boston Tracy Their chips weren't removed. The chips just didn't exist in former canon. So Omega Squad never had chips in their head, and neither did Maze, or Alpha, or anyone in that series.
The best hour for the Republic Commandos for me was when they retook an Acclamator-Class Assault Ship and used it to destroy a Lucrehulk that was more than four times its size. Despite fighting butt-loads of Trandoshan mercs and Confederate Battle Droids. When that Lucrehulk exploded mid-air, that was the proudest moment in the game for me.
You mention that a squad of Clone Commandos would take out a squad of Nulls due to the differences in birth, genetics, and how they were raised but the Nulls were raised together and when they did operate together it was comparable to several squads of commados. The Clone Commando series comes to mind.
Ikr, i was like "wtf, you dont know what your talking about"
Republic Commandos was such a great game. The way you controlled the whole team was so smooth.
They also had a few novels which were very good as well.
Best soldiers in canon maybe not.
Best soldiers according to my heart, YES!
Well considering how we know almost nothing about them in canon they really aren't impressive anymore.
Ügiustus Keiserus that would be right if the only canon exemple of a commando in action wasn’t destroying an entire base and holding off hundreds of droids singlehandedly.
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 Stick to legends m8
@@nihluxler8823
Well the droids are complete ass in Canon too. In Legends they're pretty intimidating and taken seriously with the exception of "Roger roger"; so ofc they're gonna be target practice for the only clone in the entire arc.

I always will
Short answer: yes
Long answer: also yes
Some mistakes:
N-ARCs weren't one of the first clone batches, they were THE first.
They didnt have a photographic memory but an idetic memory, so they remember EVERYTHING, not only what they see/read.
Also you showed footage of ARC troopers not N-ARCs when talking about them
1 year ago but there is no footage of null arcs
Fordo was an alpha tho so but even then it isn’t a narc you are right
I loved that game. Shame the second one was canceled and eversince EA... you know the rest... :(
Well republic commandos are coming to battlefront 2 on the 25th!
Yeah, canon commandos with no shields, crappy Dee Bradley Baker voices and less badass backstories
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 umm whats wrong with his voice? and pretty sure they have the same backstory
@@oneslickhero4276
It's not a voice to make the clones be badass, it's hard to take them seriously. Why do you think their backstories are the same? They're not, it's literally impossible for them to be the same as before.
battlefront 2 is actually quite a good game now
Nothing will ever replace or surpass the Clone Commandos for me.
What about clone force 99?
@@misterfryboi2183 Clone Force 99 are Commandos.
Actually there is one other force that can easily defeat the clone commandos the space marines from warhammer 40k

Nah
Fun fact, the word commando came from the british commando units in ww2, which was a precursor to the sas, US army rangers also originated from the same unit as they trained together in the UK and yes, they were as badass as you'd expect
Who all read the clone commando books including the only Imperial commando books?
All by Karen Traviss.
Commandos = Seal Team Six/Green Berets/SAS. SAS Spence they go in small teams. Seals as the are tier one and there blaster is similar to Navy seal former gun the stoner 63 as it could change modes. And sense Green Berets have Team Members that specializes like how they have Medic, Engine, and weapon specialists.
ARC Trooper = Marsoc Raiders as they have greet training but often go with regular troopers.
ARF Trooper = Rangers because you can see them with other regular trooper yet you see them in large groups like the 2nd Ranger Battalion or the 75th RR.
ProDeathBot20 meh nah I’d put
ARCs= rangers
Commandos=delta/seal/marsoc
Marines do the ranger training pretty easy

I think NULL ARCs were the best and deserve their own tv show in canon. Bad Batch needs it's own video game and so does SCAR (imperial elite squad).
A show focusing on the Nulls and Skirata in a kind of "Halo: Reach"-esque style would be awesome (i.e. seeing the surviving six [correct me I'd I'm wrong] Nulls slowly die off one by one over the course of a few seasons.
Null ARCs don't even exist in canon
He says in the video that the Commandos weren't the best individual soldiers, but likely the best special forces TEAMS.
As someone else said too, Skirata and the Nulls don't even exist in canon anymore
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 That doesn't mean LucasArts can't change that.
@@LorientAvandi Neither did stormcommandos, shadow troopers, grapple droids, Thrawn, or disruptor rifles. Guess what? They all got reintroduced into canon.
All I think for the last 15 years is that this game was ahead of its time. If LucasArts made it a franchise during Modern Warfare-esque military shooter era, it would have been a huge hit. Special forces - check. Various exotic locations - check. Weapon customization - check. Soldier personalization - check. Biggest license at the time - check. WHHHHHYYYYYYYY
(I mean, I know literally “why”, gross mismanagement by carousel of LucasArts bosses with no idea what to do with all those IPs, but it still hurts)
Verpine rifles were about the only small arms weapons that the commandos had to worry about because blasters didn’t hurt the Katarn armor to much but a verp gun would blow right through their armor
I wish they would just remaster republic commandos already 🥺💔
Great video, as usual. I think you skipped the Alpha ARCs, which were kind of in between the Nulls and commandos. Kal’buir said that there were two Death Watch in the cuy’val dar, although Jango didn’t know at the time. And having been cross trained by Sergeant Skirata, I think I could say commando work is much better than EOD.
Fun fact: there was a commando squad called awaiha squad
The Republic Commando novels are canon to me so screw what George Lucas or Disney says about the novels.
Makes no difference. If you like them, cool. If they're not canon anymore, whatever. Doesn't bother me at all. Why does it even matter if it's canon or not?
EmperorJuliusCaesar they were canon till Disney said otherwise.
@@gabrieltejada1697Yeah, LucasFilm of course published the Republic Commando series as part of the franchise, and they were "canon" within the scope of the series as made by the writer/writers of that series, and same as every other EU story or series; but there was never a defined clear-cut "canon". Everything, even the massive multi-media projects (except maybe Shadows of the Empire) were never considered a serious addition to the saga.
Even projects like The Force Unleashed, which George Lucas and LucasArts were heavily involved in, didn't make them as serious additions to any canon lore. They were just made to be new and interesting, and to tell a story that was different. Almost in George Lucas' exact words "The Force Unleashed takes the Force, and takes it way over-the-top", and that was the point. So gamers could just have fun being Jedi wrecking-balls.
EmperorJuliusCaesar so your just going to listen what Disney says a cooperation who only cares about money?
EmperorJuliusCaesar the Republic Commando novels are canon. Screw what you, George Lucas or Disney says about Legends.

I love the commandos best of the best. “Take offensive formation”
Can you make a video on the Cuy'val Dar. Like on who they were, there personalities, how they got along with the clones, and the types of techniques and tactics that they were trying to teach to there cadets.
You’re mistaken about the ARC’s you refer to. There were only 6 Nulls and they fought for the Republic only when they weren’t doing the bidding of Kal Skirata, their legally adoptive father; it’s all in the Republic Commando books. There were far more ARC’s and Alpha ARC’s, which is who you’re referring to. The Null ARCs could eat the ARCs and Commandos for breakfast, as is made obvious in the books. The regular ARC’s, however, are much closer to the Commandos. In a straight up fight, it took 2 Omega squad Commandos to subdue A-11 Sull (ARC trooper) without killing him. In a 1-on-1 fight, the ARCs are deadlier, they’re essentially trained to be 1-man armies, but the Commandos are still nothing to scoff at. Far from it. Commandos are basically specific Special Forces, each squad almost a 4-man army, and the ARC’s are almost 1-man armies.

I want to see shadow stormtroopers in The Mandalorian Show. I also want a tv show about a squad of stormcommandos and a Republic Commando 2 video game.
I want all of those, just not under Disney's leadership. They'll turn it into a fucking kids show. And EA will turn the game into a cashgrab battlefield remake.
THANK YOU! I loooooove the clone commando series! My favorite series by far! LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE! (but clan Skirata before all else)
Playing through Republic Commando again is awesome
1. All this is Legends btw
2. At around 4:30 when he says there were no Death Watch trainers thats not true, there was at least around 5, in the Order 66 book they deal with some of those former trainers, and a Null Arc even kills one of them. One of the Death Watch trainers also ran a Clone Fight club
We need more clone commandos!!
If I remember correctly the Jedi DID know to not use the commandos on open field mass surface battles, but that led to something potentially even worse. Sending them undersupported into Hive and Factory tunnels with no forward intel.
Republic commando.....great tactical star wars game.....
Darasuum kote! I don't know who I like more Kal skirata or walon vau. My favorite part of the clone commando series so far is in triple zero when they get ready for hunting the terrorists and walon vau gets his strill psyched up for the hunt. Come to think of it I want a strilll now
OYA MANDA WE'RE GOING ON A HUNT. OYA OYA
Oya Mando!
Sooooooo, clone commandos are basically just spartans.
Clone Commandos don't die..they're just missing in action
Spartans but weaker.
Clone commandos don’t die... they just regroup in hell.
And arc troopers are ODST
Sort of. I dont think these guys would be able to toe up to a Spartan...mostly because the Spartans are not neurally inhibited like the clones, and because they are damn near seven feet tall and super troopered up. Captain America would have more in common with a Spartan than a Clone Commando.
The best part is the ad before this video I seen a recruitment for the special forces in the military lol
Yes
Thanks to the Disney Canon overlords and EA the Republic Commando are considered enforcer class and are legitimately super soldiers
What happens when one of the four commandos dies?
They have to get a new one? It creates many problems. You said that they were hanging out almost only in the groups of four since birth, but then things get conplicated when one squad lost one guy, and the other lost two. How to merge them? One of the guys from the first squad goes to a diffrent squad that has 3 members? But which one?
And that would cause endless shuffling whenever a clone commando dies, making it impossible for them to hang out only in these groups of four.
After the shuffling they will loose a huge atribute, that is being tuned with each other
If a squad lost a man on the mission they get a replacement. It's ether a clone who undergoes crosstraining like corr who replaced Fi in omega squad. Or if a clone commando lost all three brothers he gets transferred into a squad which lost a man or if their are three other commandos that are alone they get put together. For example omega squad.
If they had the same training seargant it's not that big of a problem. But if they had diverent ones it can be very difficult for them.
This is making me want to go through my cd binder and pull out Star Wars republic commando.
I'm going to have to disagree with you there.
While the Null Class ARC troopers were unstable and a poor fit for a traditional military setting, the Alpha Class ARC troopers had increased stability without losing much of their battle prowess. Even Obi Wan said, in the 2003 series, that they were the best. They were even trained by fett himself.
If you put an alpha against a commando in a 1 on 1 fight, my odds are 9/10 for the alpha. This has been my Ted talk
I mean he literally said commando's lose 1v1, but they're much stronger as a team that acts as 1 person compared to say 4 ARCs who have different ideas and strategies
also if you put a null against an ARC, the null wins 10/10 times 😅
but also their strength was more their memory and intelligence, they were far superior to normal ARCs
Alpha or post alpha ARCs 1v1 with no shield on the Katarn armor I would say 60-80%winrate for the ARC. 4v4 or even 4v8 O give to the commandos.
Sull lost to Darman so that isnt fully correct
I miss playing this.
Great video. It made me want to go play Republic Commando, but sadly I can't.
Also, first to actually watch the video before commenting 'first'
Great video. But a team of Republic Commandos probably can't beat a team of Null Arcs, but a team of Republic Commandos can beat a team of Alpha Arcs
70 no 30 maybe on cc vs a arcs
The Commandos are by far my favorite trooper in Starwars
Each commando is like a finger but together they form a fist
To me, ARC Troopers (The Clone Wars microseries) > Republic Commandos
As much as I love the latest The Clone Wars show, I hated how they pretty much nerfed the ARC Troopers to an extent. It was more of a rank that a soldier can get promoted to instead of the Legends/EU lore where ARC Troopers were engineered differently to be more like Jango Fett. Also, Jango Fett and a few Mandlorians trained the ARC Troopers themselves. What made the Legends/EU ARC Troopers badasses is how they had an aura and mystique about them such as being locked away in stasis, and activated for critical important times. There was a saying in one of the comics that you send in 100 clone troopers or 4 Republic Commandos to complete a mission, but you only need 1 ARC Trooper.
Don't get me wrong, Fives and Echo were awesome ARC Troopers, but the others like Colt, Blitz, Havoc, etc? ZzzZzzZ
Even Commando Gregor was more skilled than them, and now we have Clone Force 99 incoming.
Well they were standard ARC troopers, the Alpha and Null ARCs are the ones that are better than commandos
@@ugiustuskeiserus8066 The ones in the microseries were Alphas. Fordo (the only one we know the designation of) is literally called Alpha-77
@@LorientAvandi
I know Fordo is an Alpha ARC, but I was talking about all the ARCs from the canon show
@@LorientAvandi
Right, I was trying to say that the 2003 series ARCs weren't the same as the ones from the 2008 series. Like I said, the 2003 ARCs are Alphas while in the 2008 series they're just standard ARCs, no Alphas or Nulls were shown in the series.
Ügiustus Keiserus That clears up a lot.
sick lore my dude
A squad of Commandos could take out a squad of Nulls?
"FIER'FEK!" *ANGRY ORDO NOISES*
Wait, did they say that in the video? I must've missed that... because that's some bull. If they reference the Nulls they should know that in the same series a clear hierarchy of clone training is established Nulls>Alphas>Commandos>Normal troopers
@@LorientAvandi I dont have a time-stamp handy, but Allen definitely thinks standard Commandos could take out a squad of Nulls. And from *my* reading of Karen Traviss' "Republic Commando" trilogy, the Nulls could 100% wreck anybody.
Ryan Mettler I don't know how someone could possibly read those and think anything else
@@LorientAvandi Glad we're on the same page. Kal would be proud
Respect to Walon Vao and Kal Skirata.
Still compare to American Special Operations Forces such as the Navy Seals or Delta Force, how would this play out?
Peter Yim definitely Navy Seals in their behavior. ARCs are Marines Force Recon.
@@cryptosporidium1375 Pretty close, but I think the ARCs are more like a mix of Marine Force Recon and US Army Green Beret.
@@pyeitme508 No not really. Pretty much just Marine Force Recon.
In a comparison the RCs are a solid tier two unit for white ops but they're nothing compared to Delta Force otherwise known as CAG by the DOD and SFOD-D by Jsoc once you take away the tech of the RCs. Why is that well first the average Delta operators been in infantry and another tier two SOF before gaining acceptance into Delta if not multiple tier two SOFs as many have.
Therefore the average Delta recruit is already more skilled and expiernced then a fresh clone commando able to execute all types of missions where as a commandos skill set is limited. Then there's the fact that Delta is black ops meaning able to do missions the US can easily deny. They often don't ware standard US military gear so you won't recognize them and can be passed off as Afghan guerrillas, SDF fighters, or other indigenous forces. Republic Commandos as pointed out with armor that you can distinctly call out as clone commando armor. Therefore as a comparison Delta is objectively better then the Republic Commandos.
However the republic commandos would make a solid tier two force used to raid and harass an enemy force to death. So their essentially hightech SEALs and MARSOC Raiders if you want a US comparison. But honestly closer to WW2 era commando units.
In actual fight they've got a huge technology advantage. If it's a death battle they'd win if it's a war Delta force would lure the commandos into a situation to set up an ambush using their recon specialists to get a good idea of the environment before engaging the enemy. Then most likely desquised as natives of said world take out said commando squad then disappear allowing the US government to deny any and all involvement.

👍❤📮the video
Yes.
I am still waiting for the RC-breach wallpaper from the other Commando video
Anyone who thinks ARCs are better than commandos please consider the fact that there are only three differences. The first is that Commandos are like regular clones (more obedient etc.) Alpha ARCs are unaltered Jango except for the faster aging. Alpha Arcs were known to be lone wolfs and they really rarely worked with other ARCs or Troopers. There was one ARC named spar who even deserted before the war even started. And this is basiaclly what the kaminoans have forseen. They did not trust those troopers. Jango trained these men himself.
Second, there were 10.000 commandos and 100 Trainers of which 75 were mandalorians and 25 were normal mercanaries which Jango picked himself. That means every trainer trained 100 commandos like Jango trained his 100 Alpha ARCs.
That basically means the main difference at this point is the trainer. As we know Valon Vau is the trainer who lost the least commandos and its this man who trained delta squad which was known as the republics best squad. That also means Jango lost more of his ARCs than Valon lost of his men. Valon was known as to most brutal and ruthless trainer in the GAR. He let his men fight each other until one of the clones couldnt fight back anymore and if they did not want to they had to fight him in his full armor. Sometimes some of those clones were in life threatening conditions. As brutal as he was as effective were the men he trained.
Summed up, it depends on the particular commando squad we talk about. The squads trained by non mandos were known to be of lesser quality than those of mandos. Was Jango the best trainer? For his independent ARCs, most likely. For normal Squads? Most likely not.
So who is better? You cant really say it because they were used quite differently because of the Arcs loner nature. I personally think a commando squad could handle every task an ARC was given but I dont believe an ARC could pull of some of the missons commandos were assigned with.
The Third difference is gear. I dont think we have to talk about this point that much. A commando had way better armor than an ARC and they were free to choose every weapon they want. ARCs had also a large pool of weapons they could choose from but dont have katarn armor.
From what i think they are not that different in their capabilities but i also believe many commandos could win against ARCs and some could not as it strongly depends on which squad we are talking about.

There should've been a follow-up after the first game.
Open field combat is of course their major disadvantage, but with spec ops and skirmish fights as their forte makes them pretty lethal. Loved playing the Republic Commando game on my Original Xbox and still do to this day. The books were pretty good and got me interested further into Mandalorian culture and history. Although I had my disagreements with somethings Karen Traviss did with the Null Clones, who seemed far too expert at everything they learned. I know it’s their genetic code or whatever the Kaminoans did to them, but still it felt kinda Mary Sue-ish? Not enough to stop me from continue reading of course, but enough to criticize the concept she had for them. However, I enjoyed every time Omega Squad were on the pages or any other Mando for that matter. Especially Fi, my top favorite character in the RC books. Shereshoy ner’vod!!!
Hello
ARC vs Commando vs Bad Batch
Far as I'm concerned both clone wars and the republic commando novels happened, simply put: Jango Fett was a mando, but not anymore, and the pacifist mandos are trying to hide that fact when they say Jango isn't one. And the mandos faught, are a splinter faction of mandos that aren't death watch
Nah, Lucas and Filoni came out in interviews and said they had Almec say Jango was no longer Mandalorian because it was true. They didn't want Jango to be a Mandalorian
Want to see how gregares team decided
I'm glad for the Delta squad appeared in the Clone Wars animated series even for a brief of moments.
I can't help but wonder if the First Order would have great commando units as the Republic Commando units were even if they couldn't reach the same high quality because of the lack of great mandalorian teachers.
András Kőszegi with the amount of dangerous aliens and cultures in the Unknown Regions, its highly likely at least a few warrior race vets wanted to show the weak human forces how to really fight. I'd love to see dedicated and open minded First Order Commandos that have a sense of duty, honor, and morality like Captain Cardinal...
@@blackshogun272 me too, also I wonder what if the Empire would found Phasma is an alternative timeine.
I'm not, because of that cameo they now are automatically less badass in canon
The Best equivocation would likely be:
ARC troopers: Army Rangers or Delta Force.
Republic Commando: SEAL team operators.
