Helping people is awesome eh, I do counselling, very rewarding. same can't do houses, weird feeling to them. Good luck guys, you got big hearts you will always be fine.
The difference between you and other companies and you being able to charge so much less for jobs is the overheads. A company which has a premises has to pay business rates, business rent, insurance, telecoms, admin, wages, tax, NIs, tools etc etc etc. The cost of running a fully registered business is a lot these days and makes it prohibitive for many people who just need a quick job doing like a couple of hours of gardening, or light bulbs changed. We need more people who can work like you and are equally competent and honest and will do a good job. It's a lifeline for many people. :)
it is possible to undervalue yourself: I employed an old ex squaddie to do my garden, he only wanted £3 an hour! I told him I don't pay less that £10 an hour....it was hard work getting him to accept the payment. I like to think I helped him get some self esteem back and self worth.
Exactly, that's why we always accept tip, if they can. But the advantages of staying.low.cost... is that work is in abundance, and we help those who are unable to find professionals at such a low cost. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼

@justagirl5593 Hey Cully, thank you for your kind words and support for the channel. Often we've travelled by foot through London, but prefer outskirts... as London is not our Nomadic preference of camp lol. However, if we head past your way, we'd likely stay around the oxhay woods area, and you'd be sure we'll give you a shout.. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
The way of life you've chosen reminds me of the young Colin Wilson. To save money while he was writing his first novel he slept in a waterproof sleeping bag on Hampstead Heath, and every morning, after a breakfast of toast and dripping at a workman's cafe, he'd cycle to the British Museum and spend the day in the Reading Room. Colin became world famous in 1956 when he published his first book, The Outsider, 'the classic study of alienation, creativity and the modern mind.' He's my literary exemplar, even though I live in a house - all the best, Gomery Kimber
It doesn't mean he was any good though. Just another halfway house to my mind. Shame there weren't any tigers to put him in the curry. Still, the way things are going, one or two stowaway tigers might come ashore at Hatings!
I love you two and Doggo. I lived in my campervan for four years. I moved around and did summer jobs, then travelled. It was the most liberating way of life, but i gave it up after becoming really ill during Covid. I now live in a council flat, with extremely noisey neighbours, and absolutely hate it. I'm retired now, but still dream of getting another campervan, just to get away from the noise. You people rock!
Oven cleaning is a good one, put out flyers, 40 quid for an hour's work. Minimal equipment. Busking 8-15 quid an hour. Proud to say I've never worked for the matrix in my life. Good money in jet washing driveways and garden clearance but you need equipment.
Seeing more posts on FB and YT from people opting to live this style of nomad life in the UK. When I was a boy in 60/70 there was a lot more people travelling on foot, gentleman of the road, some had drink and mental health problems but not all, they were itinerant workers. With mobile technology it has become a real workable opportunity, you can post on almost any local community FB group and will have work and a place to camp in no time.
Admire you both. Couldn't do it myself. Even though I like the outdoors, camping & hate modern society. I like my comforts too & I'm getting on - 70. Live long & prosper.

We spent £6300 getting out 2m2 bathroom replaced this year. Full bathroom and floor tiled too. I could have cried handing that over. Suite cost about 2000 so these guys made 4000 for less than two weeks work. Cant understand how it's justified but apparently the going rate 😭😭 ive work 60 hours+ a week driving a truck so saving isnt too hard but damn do i graft for it snd i do save and aren't in debt for anything. If we were all fair like you we wouldn't all be in a cycle of breaking our backs and grinding ourselves into the ground, and we'd all have a slightly easier life. Im talking house dwelling people anyway. Sounds like you've nailed your little corner of the market which clearly suits your lifestyle well. Good on you both 🙌🏼

You remind me of every couple I’ve met at a festival! Ahh the good old days ❤ If I lived life again I’d live in a squat until 30 then buy a mortgage with money saved up. As it was I lived with parent and saved nothing so worst of both worlds 😂
What about having a tent inside a tent . Have like a outer tent the size of your tarp and then put your smaller tent inside it . I’m sure that would be warmer plus solves the having to knock the snow off every half hour . Maybe a Kelly kettle for drinks , using woodland twigs . Then the terracotta plant pots and tea light for heat . Do you sleep directly on the ground with sleeping bags and mats , maybe raised camp beds would be warmer . Stay safe Xx
Just Watched a few vids, love you guys! I live semi offgrid on some land I bought in Italy with my family. We lived in a tent for the first few years out here. Hard but rewarding life!
I absolutely ❤ you two. You are genuinely lovely, caring people with beautiful souls. Your way of living is exactly how we human beings are supposed to live. Just like all the other millions of carbon-based lifeforms on this beautiful 🌎, living in nature and not living to fuel the greed of governments and big corporations. I have to say that I really admire you guys, I love your videos but you his one in particular, I'm moving onto a narrowboat soon and have been wondering how on earth am I going to make a living but you chaps have given me food for thought thank you. :)
We used to live in a caravan which had low overheads. We were able to work for low wages. But we had work... It was seasonal. But we managed to save enough to go away once we were laid off. Was a lot less stress! Good for you...
It can be yes, but can also get alot of stress from civy life too. We say that, we just exchanged one lot of issues for another. But we prefer dealing with our own issues living this way lol. We could make it worse or better lol. All depends where we'd like to go later in life. But many more years of this content to come and not dying in 4 walls. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Hey guys, I'm glad I'm not the only one that struggles in a house. Good to hear your thoughts. I have a few health issues and even though I don't use a lot of water I wondered how much you carry and how much you use for cooking and drinking. I fill my barrel up every 4-5 days but I do drink a lot of tea 🤣🤣. Thanks for the interesting content. I'm also a handy person it's nice to see others on similar paths and trying to help and not charge a fortune.
respects to you both. nice to see two honest people. it is ridiculous what some traders are asking now for jobs. if they don't want a quick or dirty job its over priced to make you go elsewhere or pay them extra to do the job they would have done pre pandemic no probs.. far too much greed in UK now and taking advantage of people..
There needs to be a network of ppl doing what these nomads are doing. They could co-ordinate together and build a Nomad circuit. People with skills and willing to travel, live off grid, and enjoy the blessings of nomad life in all terrains. I know plenty who want to do this but are put off by others calling them all derogatory names because of the alternative life style. More people need to think out of the box and research alternative life styles. In the fifties in my area Romanys used to pick crops, deliver fire wood, do lots of handy man stuff. Urban life frowns upon this freewheeling life style, because happiness is not a goal.
This is what we're hoping to achieve!!! Really, it would be awesome to be able to get a circuit Nomad directory sort of thing together. So that's in the pipeline.. maybe one day once grown a bit on YT, we might be able to get that reach and actually start to build a nice decent movement of hard working moral Nomads. Would be the dream. Awesome comment!!! HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Most tradesmen now charge a fortune just to turn up, then rip people off after they get the job. Luckily I can turn my hands to most jobs, even putting our own solar panels up on the roof, but discovered a lot of the laths were rotted so replaced those and also put new tiles on ( 90 off) where the solar panels will cover The rest of the roof we can do next Summer. Ps the roofing felt hides leaks from any cracked tiles so secretly rots the laths away over time because any water leaks drain into the gutter without showing up in the house, also any roofing work costs a fortune these days. Gaz UK.
Just been watching a couple of your videos and love your enthusiasm for living independently. You’ve got it made. Can I ask how you advertise doing odd jobs? Do you use Facebook or just announce yourselves in a local shop or something else?
Yeah got this new, before this we had the Coyote Brown Onetigris tangram, absolutely loved it. Before that we had the Vango orion, before that we had similar too. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I understand what you're saying because I'm in that position. I have state pension and pension credit and that's it. I live outside a village so slightly remote-ish. I can do a lot of stuff myself happily and am strong and fairly fit but if I need a small job doing which I can't do myself or haven't the skills or equipment for, and have to call out a tradesperson for a small job, or a tree surgeon to cut some high branches back which I can't reach, etc, it's all too formal, plus usually a call out fee for often quite a simple job. I was charged £100 to just clear out one gutter which took the guy 15 minutes
@mistygroves3503 wow, absolutely outrageous. They really know how to get the older generation as customers that really just need a helping hand aye. So sad, absolutely horrid. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
@TheMiniFarm444 we travel all over the UK 🇬🇧, it's not that we didn't comment, we thought it was self explanatory as we are in the south of England right now. As it happens, we're only 2 nomads and a pooch, we'd love to be there for everyone but it's only 2 of us. Thank you for your support and wish you luck for the future. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
i believe 2 ppl in love that have their health can make a go of almost anything and thrive together. i admire you and just wish a few things had turned out a bit different for me. promise me you’ll give up social media and smartphones if it gets in the way of your lifestyle or draws you back into this shitty matrix. a lot of the working class british men seem to be in one room units that cost 1200 a month, alone and feel like forgotten 2nd class citizens with no future. you are inspirational
Well done.. We need clearance of logs and tree branches.. All cut and ready to go from our garden Quotes are off the radar !....can't afford it.. So son going to the local tip when he can .. It's going to take a very long time.. We need people like you .. I would make you a meal..plus your pay..
@katmayful may we ask, what is preventing you from seasoning the food somewhat and then using the fuel for winter, fire pit or something? Not trying to be personal, just have seen people getting rid of wood when they have a log burner or else. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Ummm, ageing comes when you stop. We've had the opportunity to speak to some super people over the years... one guy and his lovely wife don't look a day over 50 (honestly). And they're in their mid 80s. Living this way is fine, the oddjobbing can get a bit grinding. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼

Thank you too. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Most tradesmen now charge a fortune just to turn up, then rip people off after they get the job.
Luckily I can turn my hands to most jobs, even putting our own solar panels up on the roof, but discovered a lot of the laths were rotted so replaced those and also put new tiles on ( 90 off) where the solar panels will cover
The rest of the roof we can do next Summer.
Ps the roofing felt hides leaks from any cracked tiles so secretly rots the laths away over time because any water leaks drain into the gutter without showing up in the house, also any roofing work costs a fortune these days.
Gaz UK.
@@Gazr965 Yeah, he was quoted stupid prices. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
What a lovely couple, keep on being yourselves you are both legends ☯️🕉☮
Wow just came across you think your doing fantastic job ...will be watching you from now on thank you 😊
I say, that is most splendid correct.
You are lovely decent people helping others doing a good job.
Thank you, always. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Brilliant what your doing, love your lifestyle big respect
@waynefoulkes832 Thank you and HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Just been watching a couple of your videos and love your enthusiasm for living independently. You’ve got it made. Can I ask how you advertise doing odd jobs? Do you use Facebook or just announce yourselves in a local shop or something else?
Word of mouth mostly, our prices spread like wild.fire. and thank you. Cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I used to have a tent like that.... I loved it. Did you get it new? I'd like to get another for old times sake!
Yeah got this new, before this we had the Coyote Brown Onetigris tangram, absolutely loved it. Before that we had the Vango orion, before that we had similar too. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Marvellous
Blessings to you
Lovely couple!
I respect you for doing life your way. Wishing you continued success. Love your videos. ☺️
Bless you, cheers. So kind, thanks.
Love the videos, will email you re work. Would love to see how you find food aka Shrooms, cook them etc ❤
Please have a look at our foraging videos. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
This was interesting. I enjoy wildlife and foraging content.
Good on you both !
Happy travels 😊
Keep it up guys.. Awesome 🖖🏕️
Great video and what a lovely couple you are.
Do you ever get as far down as Devonshire?
Mandy ❤
No promises, we only do yt and insta. But all is cool amd thank you. Very kind. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I think that you’re both wonderful. You are truly amazing 😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏
great lifestyle. there are times I wish I could do the same but disabled child needs machines. Love that you are out there doing it.
You guys are amazing 👍
How did you both meet? And decide to become nomadic?
Have a look at our 'how we met video' cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Incredible, you guys and the ideology that you practice could be the legitimate answer for the UKs ageing population. ✌️
Does aging mix well with living in a tent? You're talking a great many thousands of people, who don't camp in the woods.
A big respect to you both the world needs more of this 🫡💪
@Sticksoutdoors cheers Cully, 🍻 support goes both ways and thank you for the community last night. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Good for you
Merry Xmas to u both and looking forward to merchandise
And to you too, cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼 and look out 2025.
Should do merchandise, log hoppers beanies & tshirts.
2025 is on its way. Big plans lol. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I think mugs with a logo would be a winner. People are always looking to replace the last one they smashed. ☺️
Great channel.
Thank you. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
