hey thanks for the LDV Ute video
Ford ranger doesnt have telescopic steering column... Yet you never hear that complaint. Its also far less comfortable inside, less roomy and way more bare bones. Yet people will happily pay out an extra $20k for a badge.
Does the t60 black sign on the tail gate still fall off as you leave the dealer
Fun Fact: In Mexico this is a 2022 Chevrolet S10 Max aka Colorado. A rebadged Maxus Pickup
*previous generation was the s10 max
And i think it was because Americans have a "china bad" tendency yet they're happy to buy a Chinese made tesla or chevrolet.
Logic
Sounds like it’s about to blow up
How much for a second hand one ?
4 gear changes in less than 8 seconds, I think it gives the sense of quicker than it is
Small engine; tight ratios
I've driven the demo 8 SPD auto. It has power and is quick.
It's gutless 😁
@@johnboy5167 and a shit box as well
At a guess, I'd say the pedal lag is the culprit. Someone needs to add a throttle controller and then try that again
Test drove one of these today. Very impressed. Only improvement it needs is the acceleration lag from a stop. Dunno if thats a tuning issue or a safety feature? People have been installing an idrive to fix it, but ome shouldnt have to. Makes pulling onto a busy highway a little scaty as your timing is thrown off. Hit the pedal... Nothing... Nothing... Gunshot lol.
That’s because it a shitbox
easy fix, new hiflow cat, remove mufflers replace with a straight through type,
How can I view the digital odometer in a car? ldv t60
Nice truck!
ราคาเท่าไรครับ ใครเป็นตัวแทนจำหน่ายในเมืองไทยครับ
Interesting that it shifts within redline
Wow that's slow, is that 160kW for like 50RPM of the power curve?
The Ford Territory Turbodiesel is 140kW and 440NM, a 6spd auto and the same weight - did the 0-100 sprint half a second quicker.
It really makes you wonder wtf some manufacturers are doing.
Chinese cars. Lots of power but seemed to perform worse than expected. I don't get it
Turbo Terry has 240kw and 480nm. 0-100km in 6.5 secs. Even faster with a simple tune. Don't compare. It's an insult
@@davothegreat9990 Ah, the specs I mentioned were for the diesel lol - I somehow forgot to add diesel to my comment.
160kw bi turbo with a 0-100 in 10 seconds? Whats the power for
Don't you mean where's the power 😂
Had one of them line up next to me at the traffic lights I’m in my 4jj3 bt50 left it in the dust it’s supposed to have 20 kw more then me and 50 nm more torque
For the Money excellent Value!
It is amazing. A Chinese made vehicle like this ute has rear disc brakes but major Japanese variants of the same ute only have drum brakes. Food for thought?
Wouldn’t count on them being much better lol
@@wax333 they are actually much better. Been tested already against other utes. Performs like disk brakes should.
Can you please make a video on LDV D90
Yes please , 2022 LDV D90 diesel 4x4 top of the range for Australia please….😁
Better numbers than a BT50 looks good
I've ordered one. Can't wait.
You will be sorry 70% loss $ after 2 days
hows it going with the LDV?
@@tyzon00800 Lol I always see this terrible argument. You do realize NO one is buying your 200000km Hilux for $30k right ? The used market is so terrible that it can not be used as an argument. You can literally buy a new ute for the price of second hand which is why all the second hand brands have been sitting on CarSales for months
That engine cover is extremely deceiving, it makes the engine look like it’s mounted transversally like a FWD car but it isn’t, if you look closer
It also cleverly conceals the oil filler cap, which is a great idea. Obviously the engine is so well made that it will never need a drop of oil, so such details are unnecessary.
Yes, we were a bit confused as well, at first. Had to double check!
T60max Pro has a 935kg payload and can still tow 3 tonne!
Not for long
Still waiting for the 2022 Hilux 2.8 double cabin sr5
I'm astonished that the Ssangyong Musso XLV with way less power, way less torque, 2 fewer tranny ratios, and more than 200kgs extra weight can beat this thing in a 0-100 race. What the hell gives?
I think this thing seriously needs to be chipped and mapped. Or is it just a case of the Chinese maker telling porky pies?
Something ain't right.
I will add u had in 4x4 ..auto mode i was told drives the car in all wheel drive..thus turning more transmission parts..put in 2wd ..its like driving with air con on..it does suck power a little i think..i have one
We tried all modes during Vbox testing. The video is not timed, it’s just a demo 👍
it's funny people in the comment compare it to other cars that cost you an extra 20 grand, people always start complaining about stupid things when it is Chinese-made.
💯
That thing is a copy of a pre 2016 Amarok. Except slower.
Better off in a GWM if your buying Chinese
Yeah definitely. The quality is in another league compared to this
You are better off not buying Chinese 😁
@@johnboy5167you realise basically everything is Chinese
Beautiful 😻
Find it hard to believe this is making the claimed power/torque. Ranger Biturbo has less power, a narrower torque range (but same peak number), 100kg more mass and taller gearing...yet it does 0-100 a second faster and quarter mile half a second faster.
Hmm, good point. It would be interesting to see a handful of different utes on a dyno.
@@PDriveTVYou'll have to get organising then !😜
@@danielmalone3463 We'd love to! But we're not sure if others would be interested in seeing workhorses doing dyno runs? If we get more feedback we'll try and line something up :D
@@PDriveTV meanwhile, maybe you can get an i30N DCT and a Focus ST Auto on the dyno one after the other. I bet there will be a big discrepancy there too!
How much slip is that torque converter passing on
4th and 5th gear r too short
the time lost in changing gears is more than accelerating it didn't even have enough grunt to spin the wheels and don't tell me it's the ESP bcoz it didn't even bother to interfere
Hola quisiera que subieras el del ónix rs muchas gracias 😊
I don't know of many cars that do offer steering wheel reach.
Almost all new vehicles in Australia.
@@PDriveTVI don’t know that I’ve ever gone in and adjusted the reach in any car I’ve driven.
Maybe I’m being too modest and don’t want to impose my reach upon the car. 😅
Just to correct you! The T60Max Pro can carry 935kg payload and its the only 4x4 ute that can carry its max GVM and its max towing weight! Other than the 200 series Landcruiser and Y62 Nissan Patrol. None of the other mid size 4x4 utes which state they can tow 3.5 tonne can tow 3.5 tonne and a full GVM! Some couldnt even carry the wife & kids as well as tow 3.5T without being over weight.
This is not the Pro, it’s the Luxe. Payload is 750kg.
thing sounds like 3.0 dmax
What people forget is they sell these cars to a much bigger population than our country, it might be hard for us to accept but eventually these will be everywhere and will out sell ford Toyota etc.look at kia Hyundai how far they come soon as they make utes forget Toyota they will be driven out of comp they will be eventually be better and much cheaper
Thai vs Chinese at end of the day alot of parts are made out of China for all car manufacturers.
The price is so much cheaper than all the others as well, does the average Joe need to get to 100 kmh faster in a diesel Ute I'm not sure they do,there's no way I would be buying the more expensive brands you are paying for the privilege of the name.
The car you tested has only done 1100 km the diesel would’ve been still tight and not even Thinking of running and I think you’re a bit tough on it
We're aware of that and aim to test one again soon with more kms on the clock.
PS. Press vehicles usually go through a run-in process before being handed to media :)
The digital en the analog speedo are way out of sync
Inspired by ford
0-100 in one of these is pretty pointless i though, not really designed for acceleration. Maybe a towing test would be more suitable.
Fair enough. We test all new cars on the market for 0-100 - it's just what we do (and have been doing for 10 years now). We never have any major expectations because all tests are going to depend on many factors, however, in this case we find it interesting this vehicle is the most powerful in the class yet it is not the quickest.
@@PDriveTV yeah fair enough, don't get me wrong I love your channel, but maybe time to expand the segment especially with all the ute's on the market. Pretty sure the people buying them look at things like fuel consumption, towing capacity etc. Good work 👍
@@danmurphy5889 performance is important to most people along with the other points you mentioned
Hah quicker tha the Reaptor nugget
I think in the coming few years, the Chinese will refine and tune their cars a bit, and eventually acquire the biggest market share.
Wouldn’t buy one regardless
Completely agree. Evolution takes time. With a bit more experience (and user feedback) under their belt these manufacturers should do well in the future.
ldv=nissan
She’s nearly as quick as a vl turbo , lookout ssssss ssss sss
Hi 2nd
I’m 3rd
160 Chinese kilowatts
160 Kirowott! Rots of powa!
That is embarrassing
what kind of idiot buys a ute based on its 0-100 performance?
Probably not many. We’re simply testing it so potential buyers can compare different models.
@@PDriveTVkeep it up! Love the 0-100 spot! 🤙
What a horrific looking car
